He leaking from the anus may be from diverticular disease. This needs looking into as well. Best wishes.

Avatar f tn She never mentioned anything about insulin and that's because she has Diabetes Insipidus, which she clearly stated. Diabetes Insipidus IS NOT Diabetes Mellitus.
Avatar n tn my symptoms are extreme fatigue, no energy, insomnia, body aches, low mood, sore neck and throat area, frequent urination and strong odour of urine, mouth ulcers, grinding teeth, headaches, flaky scalp, intolerance to heat, night sweating especially on head and neck, muscle twitches at night mainly in feet and legs, dry eyes, heavy eyes and more recently talking in my sleep..
Avatar f tn Hi, I went to urologist this morning bc I've been having burning sensation when urinating, frequent urination, and irritation/pain at the tip if my penis. I have diabetes but it's usually well managed. My urine test showed my glucose is 250 in the urine, but my sugar checks are usually in range 2 hours after I eat. Can this high glucose in urine cause these problems I'm having for the last 10 days? I've been on doxycycline for the last 6 days, but it's not helping at all.
Avatar n tn A simple blood sugar test would identify whether you have diabetes or not. However, diabetes would have also been characterized by excessive thirst and night-time urination also. A drug called tamsulosin has been quite effective in reducing frequent urination symptoms due to prostatitis. You can start taking tamsulosin after discussion with your urologist and check for an improvement in your symptoms. Tea is a diuretic and will increase frequency of urination.
Avatar f tn Diabetes initially will have increase in urination, increase in hunger and increase in water consumption followed by Neuropathy i.e nerve problems but it may have an atypical presentation as well. Take care!
Avatar n tn Go see a doctor and get tested. Frequent urination is one sign of type 2 diabetes. It also could be a sign of a disease you do not feel until more severe such as bladder or urinary tract infection, an enlarged prostrate if male, vaginitis if female, or possibly a tumor. Also comes to mind is from drinking excessive amounts of fluids.
Avatar m tn About a month ago I woke up one morning and I had to urinate constantly. I urinate in the middle of the night, and when I get up in the morning I will go to the bathroom sometimes 2-3 times an hour. This continues throughout the day. There is no burning or urge its just that I have a full bladder constantly. I am not thirsty but I have to drink water to keep up with my unrinating or I will get dehydrated.
Avatar n tn The frequent urination and weight loss and others are common symptoms of hyperglycemia aspects of diabetes. Only a physician can determine, for sure, if you have diabetes, pre-diabetes, or something else altogether. If your current physician was only willing to test you for anemia (are you being treated for that?), then I recommend you choose another physician for a much more complete workup. Stress alone can create several of the symptoms you report, also.
Avatar f tn I am a 40 year old woman with the problem of frequent urination. I do not have diabetes or UTI and my ultrasound scan is normal. I underwent a D&C procedure in December of 2007. My urologist thinks that I should see a psychiatrist. I have a bulky uterus. I was 200 lbs three years ago, now I am 125 lbs, (through diet and excercise). My gynec told me that I have over-exercised,(walking 14 km a day). I feel constant irritation and pressure in my bladder.
Avatar f tn Hi, The cause for the increased/frequent urination needs to be looked into. It could possibly be due to diabetes and thus will suggest you to get a blood sugar done and rule out diabetes mellitus. The second possibility is a stone in the urinary tract which can also present with increased urination and burning sensation in the urine. Please do get an ultrasound or preferably a CT-IVU to rule out a stone of the urinary tract. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar f tn As the previous poster stated, often keeping your blood glucose (BG) under control will help to alleviate diabetes symptoms such as increased thirst and frequent urination. If you are not checking your blood sugar at home, I would recommend making an appointment with your doctor to check your blood glucose and make sure that your medication is at the correct dose to manage your diabetes.
Avatar n tn Obesity entails several problems probably due to the fact that obesity is a risk factor in developing disease conditions like coronary artery disease, diabetes mellitus, kidney problems and cerebrovascular problems. I do not think "the pregnant lady"theory explains your symptoms.Obesity may play a role here but not due to the amount of weight pushing on the bladder. In pregnant women this may be the case since the uterus enlarges and presses on the bladder due to the growing fetus.
Avatar f tn an OGTT (oral glucose tolerance test), a fasting glucose test, or an A1c test. If diabetes runs in the family your chance of getting it is higher than most.
Avatar f tn This was soon followed by very frequent urination and a irritated feeling in the tip of my urethra. I went to a clinic and got tested for gonorrhea/chlamydia. Both came back neg. after about a week or so, the symptoms seemed to go away, except for occasional tingling in the same area. This has been off and on now for the last few months. I went to another clinic and took a sample to check for UTI. They said everything looked good.
Avatar m tn Frequent urination, Urgency, Pain during and after urination, Irritation along the urinary tract. I have been tested for STD's and a uti and both came out negative. I do not have diabetes either. I have only been drinking water for 8 months now and my urine is still dark yellow and burns. I do not wake up during the night to go to the bathroom. I do not consume too much water. What could this be?
Avatar m tn re posting here because you think your thirst and frequent urination symptom is related to diabetes. This is true but the urination part also can be related to prostrate problems, urinary tract infection, and/or a bladder a infection. You need to see a doctor for a complete evaluation and necessary treatment. It won't go away on its own, it will only get worse to the point of hospitalization. Get off the computer and go see a doctor.
Avatar m tn It is impossible to say that you had diabetes and whether the tingling in your feet and hands and the urination problem was/has anything to do with diabetes. It is possible that you may have had undetected diabetes and those symptoms were nerve damage due to high sugar levels. With regard to the urination problems I would advise you to make an appointment to see your doctor to get this checked out as the symptoms may be due to too much sugar in your body, or a urinary infection.
Avatar f tn Hello, I took zyprexa (antipsychotic) for 4 years and have taken cymbalta (antidepressant) for 5 years. I gained a lot of weight (50lbs), and started to have insulin resistance problems and high glucose levels. I was put on metformin 500mg once a day for a year. I was told that if I lost the weight my numbers would go back to normal. I lost 40lbs, I am exercising and eating healthy. My doctor told me that I could quit metformin.
Avatar f tn Cutting to the chase, excessive urination is a hallmark of diabetes. The word insipidus comes from a Greek word for fountain. The general reason is a failure of insulin producing cells in a place physicians call the Islets of Langerhans. The test to be performed nowadays is called an hba1c. It is simple and inexpensive and provides a number that is based upon the affinity of the red blood cells for glucose.
Avatar m tn I trust your blood test for diabetes came back negative. So that is now ruled out. If you are no better after taking the antibiotics, I would suggest going back to the doctor for referral to a urologist. A urologist specialises in anything connected with waterwork system (in our body) as well as the prostate. He would be able to do thorough checks to find the cause of your discomfort.
Avatar f tn I hope they included and A1C in your labwork...and did a simple glucose test to rule out diabetes...frequent urination and excessive thirst are signs of diabetes..as is excessive hunger...and fatigue...sweating episodes can be bouts of hypoglycemia...diabetes affects every organ system in your body...I'm not sure about the other symptoms...
