Diabetes type 2 borderline

Common Questions and Answers about Diabetes type 2 borderline

diabetes

Avatar n tn Did they tell you if you were borderline Type 1 or Type 2. The two types are totally different. In type one the body stops producing insulin and a person needs to either take shots or have an insulin pump to get the insulin needed to live. Type 2 diabetes, the body produces insulin, but cannot use it properly with out medications, usually oral medication.
Avatar n tn I am being screened for type 2 Diabetes. My mother has it, my grandfather had it and my brother is borderline.I have been testing my blood sugar and it ranges from fasting 88 to 156 2hrs after meals. My physicians assistant insists these are normal swings in a day. If I don't eat dinner or try not to eat, my blood sugar is high when I wake up. I can't seem to find a pattern.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with borderline diabetes and have not tested my sugar in a long time because I misplaced my meter since moving to another state. I would like to know if headaches, sinusitis, ear humming and a fizzing type sound in my neck when I move my head are also symptoms of diabetes. Thanks.
Avatar n tn First of all Type 2 diabetes does run in the family. I had gestational diabetes in two of my pregnancies. Lately but not everysingle day however more often now I am continuously feeling nausiated, at times a headache or mild diziness with it. At times I go to the toilet feeling as if I am going to vomit (but I dont). I am absolutely not pregnant (I had a tubal ligation). there are times when I get shaky or irritable or feel a head rush without food. I am 5'4" inches tall.
Avatar n tn A family history of type II diabetes has absolutely no connection with juvenile (type I) diabetes. When our daughter was diagnosed with type 1, I assumed there must be a connection to type 2, which my husband and most of his family have, but I then learned all about it-- and as our endocrinologist said, it was just "an unhappy coincidence." So don't worry about your toddler getting type 2.
Avatar n tn Some people are able to control Type 2 diabetes with losing and maintaining healthy weight, lowering carb intake and regular exercise. Some are not, and need medication. It is impossible to answer your question because every diabetic is different and it would depend on how high your numbers were to begin with and what you ate and did. Serious consequences (complications) from diabetes don't occur in 24 hours, they occur over time spent at high numbers.
Avatar n tn I am no expert on diabetes, just the child of a type 2 diabetic and niece of three diabetics, but I think the urine test you are referring to is for something called ketones. I think this test tells you if you have uncontrolled diabetes.
10858973 tn?1416663532 Run through...GD +, after the 3 hours test. Family history of type 2 diabetes. No prior issues for me though. Nutritional counseling is stupid. Following the diet my numbers were still borderline high... Then continue with the one that posted first.
Avatar n tn I know I am insulin dependent because I cannot take my pump off except for the rare few minutes or so without my sugar sky rocketing. Now would u still call this Type 2 Diabetes or Type 1? Hearing the words Juvenile Diabetes associated with Type 1 throws me off obviously because I was not diagnosed as a juvenile. But also the words Insulin Dependent are associated with the Type 1. So I DO fit into that category.
14386166 tn?1434268142 Hello everyone..I have been Type 2 Diabetic for 19 months now and I am on a few Medications such as..Humalog 50-25 units 3 times per day and Byetta 10 unitis 2 times per day and Metformin 2 times per day and Atrovastatin once per day..when I was diagnosed I weighed 120kg now I weigh 154kg, I have been in Terrible pain over the past year..
Avatar n tn What I have read from other type 2 diabetics and from many articles about both types of diabetes, many type 2 diabetics can go off their medications eventually if they change their diets, lose weight and exercise. If this is true, then dependency is not an issue or these other type 2 diabetics would never be able to go off their oral medications after making these changes in their lifestyles. You said that her doctor says her glucose levels are borderline.
Avatar f tn I had type 2 diabetes before I got pregnant. I'm 8 weeks and I inject insulin twice a day. They said if I don't control my levels my baby will be too overweight . any suggestions besides eating right and exercising? Is anyone else experiencing this?
Avatar n tn CLBear, You might enjoy a diabetes discussion board that's got topics for Type 2s and Type 1s and for the stuff we share. I highly recommend this site: http://chat.joslin.harvard.edu:8080/~diabetes You don't need to register to read the information there, but you may need to register to post (it's free, tho'). Folks who post can choose to be anonymous.
