Avatar m tn Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 15 to 30 minutes twice a day. Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day. Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
Avatar f tn I can certainly understand the desire to have your daughter recover from Type 1 diabetes! Maybe in her lifetime there will be a cure! Good luck, I hope you get more predictable numbers soon.
Avatar f tn You can spend your time eating gobs of boiled tree trunks if you are that bored. But if you have Type 2 diabetes you would be better off spending your time learning how to manage it with a combination of carb reduction, exercise, weight loss and medicaton if needed.
Avatar n tn Do you think that we are born with a defect in our pancreas, that either presents early in childhood as Type I or starts acting up later, as Type II? I know that family history plays a large part, but so does our lifestyle.
Avatar f tn I'm a 15 yr old with diabetes type 2 and i'm in need of major support to get through all this! When i found out that i had diabetes at the age of 12 i thought it was just like a virus or something, but i never thought that it was gonna be like a battle field! i can't enjoy most of the things that other kids my age enjoy. Turns out that having diabetes type 2 is ALOT harder of getting rid of (if possible) than i thought.
Avatar m tn There is no cure for it I don't think. 1 thing I know with a friend is taking fenugreek seeds. Put 5 fenugreek seeds in a half glass hot water leave overnight and drink the water and eat the seeds. My friend says that it has helped.
Avatar n tn No one here with PCOS? People with Type 1 diabetes can get PCOS. My aunt had type 1, which she developed as a teen and was insulin dependent her entire life, and she also had PCOS. She died at age 58 from heart disease. I too have PCOS, but I have type 2 diabetes. After years of dealing with low blood sugar and many other debilitating symptoms, including fatigue and severe PMS, I became diabetic overnight. I'm sorry to say that there is no cure for PCOS. It can only be treated.
Avatar n tn Hi Dalki, Yes, in time your doctor will likely know for sure which type of diabetes you have. In addition to Type 1 and Type 2, there seems to be a type 1.5 ... tho' there's some thought that 1.5s are just in the early stages of Type 1. We DMers (folks with diabetes mellitis) and our docs often call that a honeymoon phase. I hope you're feeling better now that your bloodsugar has begun to come down. Things may remain volatile for a while, so try to be patient with yourself.
Avatar n tn But one thing is that it will take a few years of testing and money which both JDRF and ADA spend bunches on. i have had type 1 diabetes for over thirty years now and i would welcome a cure. Too bad that we can't get the conservative politicians, like Bush, to approve more stem cell research, which is one of the studied methods for creating a cure that seems very promising.

Avatar n tn Changing lifestyle habits can go a long way in controlling type 2 diabetes. India leads the world in diabetes. This is mainly due to poor diet/nutrition. Things he must do: Restrict & avoid refined sugars, high carbohydrate foods, practice, avoid dairy products like milk and yogurt, avoid food made with white flour [breads, crackers, etc].
Avatar m tn A point to note hear is that in india, a lot of people are not taking their medications regulary and they are also not taking the diet seriously. This could be one of the reason why there is slow progress in traditional indian medicines. Siddha medicines are sysnonymous to make slow and steady progress but in the long term the disease wont re-occur.
Avatar f tn I have type 1 diabetes, and have had this challenging disease for 30 years. I am believing that I may be having the first signs of some nerve damage and am wondering what doctors/specialists I sure see. Right now I have a family practioner, and have had this same doctor for years....any suggestions on where to go next? I have excellent insurance (not always the case) and want to take care of this before the situation gets worse? Help.
Avatar n tn I know I am insulin dependent because I cannot take my pump off except for the rare few minutes or so without my sugar sky rocketing. Now would u still call this Type 2 Diabetes or Type 1? Hearing the words Juvenile Diabetes associated with Type 1 throws me off obviously because I was not diagnosed as a juvenile. But also the words Insulin Dependent are associated with the Type 1. So I DO fit into that category.
Avatar n tn My daughter was diagnoised with Diabetes while she was going through Chemotherapy for Leukemia when she was 3. The chemo caused the diabetes and I was told that once the chemo was over that the diabetes would go away; well they were wrong!
Avatar f tn I recently was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, will I ever be able to eat whatever I want again? If so, how long do you think that will be, I miss my chocolate!!
Avatar m tn This is absolutely a myth. There is no cure for Type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetics produce insufficient insulin and need insulin to live. People want easy answers and for Type 1 diabetes there aren't any - not yet anyway. There are many types of natural treatments that are said to help Type 2 diabetes. Perhaps they do. But nothing helps as much as reducing carbs, losing weight and getting regular exercise.
Avatar n tn Understandably, no one has been or ever will be allowed entry to the military services who was known to be Type 1. I have been interested in the stories of Type 1 diabetics who have been allowed to remain in the service in the past 25 years. I know of only two cases, but likely there have been others. One was a musician, the other was a cryptographer. Both held very specialized positions, and both had to muster considerable political influence (senators, congressmen, etc.
