Avatar n tn I have visual snow, vision seems dimmer than before, colors look faded. I noticed a slight change in my vision in 2019, but I considered it normal. I suspect that my diet is to blame because I eat a lot of chocolate, Still I have not been diagnosed with diabetes. Two different ophthalmologists, Macular oct, mri, visual field test. They can't find anything wrong. My eyes are fine. What am i gonna do?
Avatar n tn But the most common symptoms are excessive thirst and urination, especially at night, feeling tired all the time and possibly weight loss and vision problems. You may also experience symptoms of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) if you skip meals, which can be feeling shaky, sweating, blurry vision, and feeling cranky or "spacey". These feelings go away when you eat.
Avatar n tn My child was diagnosed with type1 diabetes this past week. She is now having problems seeing things clearly and reading. The nurse has told us this is a common reaction and her vision may take up to six weeks to normalize. I haven't been able to find any info about this online. As she is in high school taking advanced classes, this presents a real problem... any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Possibly. The tiredness, blurry vision, nightsweats, and infections COULD be symptoms of diabetes, but I don't know how your epilepsy could be influencing your symptoms. Only a doctor and a test can tell you for sure. You said you got the result for the first fasting test; do you know what the number was? Yes, ask for an A1C. Many doctors are not too educated on diabetes but that is pretty basic.
Avatar f tn My doc says my stones are from dehydration and I know diabetes could be a culprit but as far as I know eye problems with diabetes are different than mine. I am wondering what could be causing all this? It is going to be a couple weeks before I see my Doctor and I'm so tired of this misery. Any help is appreciated. Also I apologize for the typing, I'm posting from a device other than a PC.
Avatar f tn Hi all, My hubby was dx'ed 2 weeks ago w/ diabetes II. His regular doc put him on 30 mg Actos daily. At 1st hubby's blood sugar was a whopping 390- now it's down to 76-90 in the am and no more than 180 even after lots of sugary food. Obviously the blood sugar is well under control now. The problem is, my husband's vision is going crazy! I know that diabetes can cause vision problems when blood sugar is high, but the way it's happening doesn't make sense.
Avatar f tn slow word recall, abnormal pupil responses, infrequent bowel movements, short term memory loss, vision problems, problems empying my bladder, unbalanced and incontinence (at night when i get out of bed to go to the bathroom) I am on Humira. It lowers your immune system and can cause MS.The first thing I noticed was my vision seemed to have changed over night. I have wore glasses for far away objects for years but now I have trouble seeing things close up. It was so sudden.
Avatar f tn Diabetics can cause vision problems particularly retinal problems like diabetic retinopathy, macula problems etc Yes, problems caused by diabetics on eye cannot be corrected by glasses or contact lenses as it affects retina of eye Keeping diabetics under control is the first step to keep vision stable, regular eye checkups is also essential.
Avatar f tn Saw the ophthalmologist and definitely no cataracts, tests are completely normal. Dr. sees the slight inward turning of my right eye but says it could be normal and I am only noticing it now because of my vision problems. She has no explanation as to why I'm having these vision problems. Last night for example, every oncoming car's headlights shot out like lasers across my entire field of vision. Sort of like strobe lights. It was difficult to focus. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn The various causes of blurred and double vision are cataracts, macular degeneration, damage to muscles and nerves in the eye which can be caused by thyroid problems, multiple sclerosis, strokes, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Diabetes can also cause these symptoms by diabetic retinopathy. Consult an ophthalmologist for eyes evaluation.
1418951 tn?1305038220 Migraines are often associated with vision symptoms. To prevent these, both abortive and preventive medications prescribed by your doctor may help. If these do not help, you could also benefit from a referral to a neuro-opthalmologist. Take care and do keep us posted with the MRI results. Best regards.
390388 tn?1279636213 Hi, If you are truely having the symptoms you described you need to see a health care provider, preferably an internal medicine specialist ASAP. Repeat asap. While diabetes should be considered, I think ruling out cardiovascular problems and a stroke would be my major concern. I am sure you will get addional advice from our regular responders on this forum.
Avatar n tn Dear Newly diagnosed diabetic, I too for years had symptoms, excessive thirst, excessive urination, multiple yeast infections, blurred vision, glucose tolerance test were all negative, blood sugar tests were within normal limits. I thought I was very lucky not to be a diabetic, but what was causing all these symptoms?

Avatar f tn You may also need to notice if ‘cold’ is precipitating your symptoms. Diabetes Mellitus and Hypothyroidism could cause the symptoms described by you. Avatar f tn You need to have a comprehensive eye exam. Because diabetes can cause eye problems, you need to have regular eye exams by an ophthalmologist who is experienced with diabetes issues.
Avatar n tn Opie, do you notice this problem when reading? If you change the angle of your head, such as tipping your head upward, does the doubling go away? For maybe 5-6 years I've had vertical ghosting such that I see ghost images above the real one, but not in proportion to the size of the object--for example, I'll see a ghost letter above the real one that's maybe 1/3 the size, but I'll see ghosting above my computer monitor or a teacup that is only about 1/4 inch high.
Avatar f tn Do you have diabetes? Diabetic retinopathy can cause changes in vision such as that you have discussed. Seeing a neuro Opth will only help determine whats up. Have you seen an eye dr yet? Sounds like you have. If they haven't mentions Optic Neuritis then its a good sign. Diabetes can cause neuropathies that can mimic symptoms of MS such as in feet/hands tingling etc. Bladder frequency etc also and mentation changes. Let us know what symptoms your having and do you have diabetes.
Avatar n tn In postural or orthostatic hypotension blood pressure falls when you stand and causes all the symptoms that you are suffering. Dehydration, certain medications, heart problems, untreated diabetes, and nervous system disorders can all cause this. TIAs or transient ischemic attacks can also be the cause.
Avatar n tn the symptoms of type2 diabetes and prediabetes are sleepiness after eating carbs.
