Avatar n tn My father was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. My uncle has type 2 diabetes as well. Recently I have just been looking into the common symptoms and have become rather concerned. I would like some clarity on whether these are actual symptoms of diabetes or not. 1. Most of the time during the days it seems like I'm always very hungry. 2. If I'm not weight lifting and eating A LOT of food I tend to lose weight. 3. Occasionally I feel very weak. 4.
Avatar f tn What are the symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes? I have a child who is extremely tired and thirsty all the time. Should I have him checked for diabetes?
Avatar n tn I dont want to go ask for a test if my symptoms dont seem to coincide with diabetes. With gestational diabetes it was hard to tell the symptoms vs. the pregnancy symptoms. I was insulan dependant both pregnancies by injection every night for my fastin numbers.
Avatar m tn If you get the news that you have diabetes -whichever Type, it will change your life but it is a manageable condition and you can continue to do the things you love. Avatar f tn I would like to know if headaches, sinusitis, ear humming and a fizzing type sound in my neck when I move my head are also symptoms of diabetes. Thanks.
Avatar n tn The frequent urination comes from the body tryting tto digest the nbodies fat cell for energy since you are not using insulin to digest injested food, thus the weight loss. You may also notice excessive thirst and fatigue. These are symptoms of type one dibetes which doesn't have as much of a family history ar type two. Type two used to be called adult onset and type one juvenile.
Avatar n tn Panic attacks are not symptoms of diabetes. However drinking a lot of water and going to the bathroom a lot can be. If your friend thinks he might have diabetes it is easy enough to go to a doctor who will recommend either a fasting glucose test or an OGTT where he drinks a really sweet drink and watches how it affects his blood sugar over time. He should definitely have it checked as untreated Type 1 diabetes can make you very sick.
Avatar f tn a few years ago, I was diagnosed with Diabetes Type II. I do weigh more than the average teenager but I am not what doctors would term as over-weight. My problem is, I am not on any medication of any kind. The only medication i recieved from my doctor was 6 years ago, and it only assisted in heloping me lose weight. Is this normal? Is it possible/normal that I can survive and beat this illness by simply sticking to my diet? any clarification on this will be muvh appreciated. Thank you.
Business man1 you are classified as either normal, prediabetic, or diabetic [type 1, type 2, or type 1.5]. Telling us which one helps us help you so we can provide appropriate responses.
Avatar n tn There is no doctor on this board, John, only other diabetics. Heat can have very unpredictable effects on blood sugar. Do the diabetics in your company test regularly and have well managed blood sugars? Do they carry glucose tablets with them at all times in case of unexpected lows. Diabetes is very much a condition that needs awareness and self-management.
Avatar n tn It is, however, important to know that eating does not cause Type I or Insulin Dependent Diabetes. Type 2 Diabetes is often caused by obesity and overeating to the point that the body becomes unable to produce enough insulin to cover the food being eaten. In those situations, losing weight and exercising can often eliminate the diabetes. Oral medications are given to increase the production of insulin or to increase the bodies ability to absorb and utilize the insulin.
Business man2 Let us not forget Type 2 diabetes is associated with obesity, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, lack of daily 30-60 exercise, and above all poor food choices. In its early stage it is possible to reverse diabetes. This does not mean you can ignore lifestyle changes by going back to the bad habits which created your diabetes, it means you must adhere to a diabetic prevention lifestyle or it will return.
Avatar m tn I just looked up the diabetes symptoms.. I appear to show all, I dont know what to tell my parents, and is it possible to get rid of it, i exercise regularly and eat healthy i just want to know can I grow out of it?Or can I do anything to get rid of it?
Avatar f tn I have type 2 diabetes and have for 11 yrs, I thought I had diabetes for a while before I was actually diagnosed and not knowing enough, did not press my doctors reasoning for not thinking my higher blood sugar readings were not significant enough. He did not do a Hemoglobin A1c test. Just a blood glucose which was showing high blood sugar readings for some time, and he for whatever reason didnt think it signficant enough.
Avatar n tn Both type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes are multifactorial disorders, which means that they involve a combination of genetic, lifestyle and environmental factors. It seems counterintuitive, but type 2 diabetes has a larger hereditary component than type 1 diabetes, even though diet and lifestyle contribute greatly to the development of type 2 diabetes.
