Avatar n tn It does run in my family my grandfather and alot of others although my parents do not have it. Should I Prusue a Diabetes test? Im I right in thinking that some of my symptoms seem like symptoms of Diabetes? Should I seek another doctors opinion or go back to that doctor. Or maybe he is right and I don't have Diabetes. Thank you again for your time!
Avatar m tn These could be signs of diabetes, but could be other things as well, including Depression. If you also have increased thirst and urination that would make diabetes more likely. However you most certainly can ask your doctor to do a blood glucose test and then you will know for sure and not have to worry.
Avatar n tn Ruling out diabetes was a good decision since neuropathy can be one of the side effects of diabetes. However, diabetes is not the only cause of neuropathy, if that is what you have. It may be time for a more thorough physical to help you determine what might be causing these new symptoms and how you might get some relief. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn get him to lay on his back, on the floor and elevate his feet on the couch that might help with the swelling. as for the burning try soaking in room temperature/ coolish water, then after a good rub with a mint lotion. I would suggest going to the doctor above anything else.

Avatar m tn The condition is called Diabetic Neuropathy where the nerve endings at the bottom of your feet fire off at a much higher rate of speed than normal which causes this burning sensation on the soles of your feet. The swelling around your ankles and feet could be a sign of poor circulation in your legs, as well. You may want to talk to your doctor bout getting an ultrasound done on your legs to determine if a blood clot may be present.
Avatar f tn Worked in the catering/photography business (still do photography) for the past 15 years. Never wore the correct shoes and had terrible foot pain, especially in the balls of my feet. Then the numbness came on. My mom passed away six months ago and I have been battling anxiety as well. Anyway, within the last six months the numbness has gotten worse. Has moved up into my calves. Bothers me mostly at night. Had an EMG done and it showed nerve damage and some muscle damage (dr.
Avatar m tn Hi Thanks for the comments. I am not a diabetic, only in the beginning of this month the blood sugar level was slightly high i.e. 135 mg. I again done blood sugar test in the middle of this month now this has come down to 107 mg. Doctor has not advised any medicine, only advised to stop taking sugar, sweets containing sugar, decide only after another test in next month. Doctor doubts some neurologist disorders. However, there is no relief to my sole burning sensation.
Avatar n tn I am a healthy 22 year old woman, I eat very healthy and exercise every day. I am not overweight (120 lbs.) and I have never had any serious health problems in my entire life. About 2 months ago I started getting a strong, painful tingling in the bottom of my feet whenever I would cough, sneeze, laugh, stretch, take a deep breath or other movements. I've checked everywhere for information about this symptom and the only answer I've had is diabetes.

798555 tn?1292787551 I know this can be a symptom of Hypothyroid (I have Hashimoto) and diabetes. I am on the edge of pre-diabetes. My thyroid is off at the moment (fixing this again), but when thyroid meds were leveled, I still had this before. Its annoying - I'm on my feet a lot. It seems this slight burning sensation is from lack of circulation and muscle tension - combined with nerves. I do what I can to relieve the tight calve muscles (I know about muscles). I have no weight issues - its not that.
Avatar f tn Is this from HIV infection or is my diabetes showing up with symptoms. The symptoms come and through out the day. Is this HIV.
Avatar f tn numb feet..and pre diabetes...swollen face...all i want to do is sleep...could this be the start of low thyroid?
Avatar f tn Numbness in your right toes and your right hand are Diabetes symptoms for full blown T2 called neuropathic complications. If you are not sure if you are already a T2 then, the most inexpensive and quickest way to find out if you are an T2, go buy a Diabetes self test kit called A1C NOW, made by Bayer, at Wal-mart or at Walsgreen for $29.99. Within 10 minutes after the test, you'll see the results. Or set up an appointment to see a neurologist.
Avatar n tn You can find this in the app by clicking the menu bar in the upper left and selecting Health Guide, then navigating to the Stay Well section. http://www.medhelp.org/diabetes/articles/What-Are-Neuropathies/1785 Please do see your doctor as the other poster suggested and come back to let us know how you're doing.

Avatar n tn Hello, Gary. I'm not a medical professional, just a parent of a kid with diabetes. There are many reasons for swelling of ankles, but I've not heard of an insulin reaction causing it.

Avatar f tn It can cause exhaustion, not feeling fresh, weakness and these types of symptoms. If you have IBS the possibly poor iron absorption is the cause of low ferritin. You must have complete iron panel done with TIBC, iron, ferritin, % saturation etc. Since you have IBS, iron supplementation through injections may help.
Avatar n tn ve noticed that the side nearest to the ground is more sweaty than the area further up.. what could be the cause of this?? could this be some kind of fluid buildup due to the swelling because of my injury i caused myself? I thought Hyperhidrosis might be a cause, however no one in my family has this disease. And I've never had this problem until this injury. Help?
