Avatar f tn In addition, plenty of people have worse kidney function and don’t feel pain, so the pain is not her kidney…And since blood pressure is low kidneys are probably not the problem. (I know she is not a high carb eater…but took it anyway.) Her diet is consistent and healthy and she takes appropriate supplements. Weight goes up and down with no known cause, not a small swing a large swing.
Avatar n tn Obviously if these are thyroid issues, these symptoms are most common with hyperthyroid. The kidney not so much, unless its muscle in the area. I am one of the few that loses weight when hypo. Many hypo/hyper symptoms crossover. This is where lab results help. If you have these , you can post them with the reference ranges for members insight.

Avatar m tn A little over a week ago i started having a dull pain in my lower back on both sides, And recently i have started urinating frequently to the point where i find it hard to slee. I have been to the doctors and had a urine sample taken they have ruled out a kidney or bladder infection. Would anyone have any ideas of whats going on.
Avatar m tn Hi there, I'm a 17 year old female. For almost a year now I've been urinating really frequently. By frequent, I mean I used to urinate maybe 4/5 times a day, and now it can be anything from 15 up to 20+. And every time I do urinate, its of a normal volume. So I'm urinating a large volume overall during the day so it can't be assigned to just a psychological cause. However, I can sleep just fine during the night without waking up to go and pee.
Avatar m tn Possibly kidney stones, kidney infection, or UTI... I am not a doc but I know it isn't normal. Go to your doctor.
Avatar n tn Anyway, all my symptoms now tha I hav gotten home fit the Type 1 Diabetes list and it does run in my family. My questions are also--kidney involvement--they also told me my kidneys were not functioning too what they also should along with a number of tests with what could possibly be malignant bone marrow luekimia. I guess what I am asking is "can" blood tests be off when the blood sugar is so high?
Avatar n tn Chronic kidney disease is caused by diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, polycystic kidney disease and some medications like pain killers. Medications are given to reduce the blood pressure and to correct the anemia. When the renal function is below the optimal level then dialysis is initiated. At the end stage of renal failure renal transplant from a competent donor would be the therapy of choice. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Avatar f tn I have a 7 year old grandson who has been having kidney issues for the last 18 months. Symptoms are, BLOOD IN URINE, SLIGHT PROTEIN IN URINE, ABDOMINAL PAIN, LETHARGIA, AND PUFFINESS AROUND EYES AND FACE. He is set for a kidney biopsy on the 20th of this month. No one can come up with a diagnosis. He has been on steroids, which do not seem to help, and symptoms can come and go. He also complains of body aches. Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue?
Avatar n tn Have you ever got your blood pressure checked? Any kidney problems or diabetes? Are you obese? All these answers can help me to get to a diagnosis. What you mentioned is kind of hemiparesis. Is there any weakness or inability to move voluntarily in the limbs? I would suggest that you get a CT scan brain done and immediately visit a neurologist. You could have had a transient ischaemic attack or a stroke. All the best.
Avatar f tn Symptoms of UTI are frequent urination, burning sensation during urination, passing of blood in urine and even fever. The most common causes of repeated UTIs are kidney stones and diabetes mellitus. The other causes can be due to nerve pain or hernia pain. Making a diagnosis of a urinary tract infection includes performing a urinalysis test, which checks for the presence of pus, white blood cells, and bacteria in the urine, which point to a urinary tract infection.
1959722 tn?1338778115 I have a terrible pain in my back just on the right side right above my waste bad enough that I could not sleep at all last night even though I took a tylenol pm I have a weird pain in my urethra (I think that's what it's called ya know what I pee out of lol) I have never had a kidney infection but my sister has diabetes and gets them a lot and I think I have one so can I just drink some cranberry juice for a few days and see if I can get it to go away or is it something I should be conc
4879855 tn?1360440197 Untreated diabetes gives you sugary urine (the old school test was for the doctor to taste-test it). You also drink and pee LOTS (polydipsia and polyuria). It also causes weight loss eventually if you don't have enough insulin to get your food to your cells. I agree with jemma that you should get checked for a UTI. A burning sensation while peeing can also indicate a UTI. Since you don't mention a fever, it's *probably* not as high up as the kidneys.
Avatar f tn I had pain all over my body which calmed with the vitamin b-12 supplements I'm taking. But the crawling, tingling and electric shocks sensations are back, why??? This is driving me insane. I get these all day long especially when I wear my dressy work pants and they continue to touch my skin. These symptoms are worse on my legs, especially my thighs but I get them everywhere.
Avatar m tn Usually cause of RLS is unknown, but it is essential that you consult your treating doctor before decreasing or stopping the recommended dose. Other reasons of RLS could be rheumatoid arthritis, kidney failure, diabetes or any underlying heart disorder. The leg pain of RLS typically eases with movement of the legs and becomes more evident at rest. Therefore, medicine dosage is usually prescribed before going to bed.
