I am a 74 yr. old female, started with burning feet and legs seven months ago. Had an MRI which showed mild arthritis in lower back. Was sent to pain specialist who diagnosed my problem as spinal stenosis although MRI did not indicate this. He injected triamcinolone acetonide nos into the nerves along the spine in November. It did relieve the burning in the legs but not the feet. The burning returned in March, worse than ever.

My uncle just turned 60 years old and a doctor recently diagnosed him with RLS. But, the symptoms just don't seem to fit the typical pattern. For the past 9 - 12 months, he has had symptoms of "burning feet" and shaking of the lower extremties. The symptoms are worse during the day, but seem to get better when he lays in bed (symptoms alleviate during the night). He has seen several doctors who have ruled out: athlete's foot, diabetes, Parkinson's Disease ...
Tingling sensations could be caused by many conditions including diabetes, thyroid disorders, or vitamin and mineral deficiencies. However, the fact that it is worse when sitting might point to a nerve impingement/compression as a likely cause of the symptoms. You should have your symptoms evaluated by a physician. Hope this helps.

The bumps mostly went away, finally, and their disappearance did seem to be following the improvement of my tendon injury. But for a week or two now I've been getting intense itching in my lower legs and top of the feet, when I sit at the computer at night. With the number of pets I have, fleas would be the obvious answer, and yet not one of my pets is scratching or showing any other signs of having fleas, and I don't see any near the floor. I'm wondering if any of this is adding up.
Well, then, it's probably RLS, since MRI ruled out spinal problems. And yes, I have a very poor gait, I limp, and my feet and legs hurt so much that it's hard to be "smooth" with my walk. As for the tightness in your lower back, when a person is moving their legs, it pulls the muscles in the back, and if you walk in a way to sort of "protect" your aching calves and feet, it puts abnormal pressure on those back muscles.
I can be sweating and my feet will be freezing. My feet go to sleep for no reason, and when they wake up, my toes hurt. I feel comfortable everywhere except my feet. I have type 2 diabetes but my A1C is 6 as of yesterday.
i still have the swelling, and the swelling in the abdomen is acompanied with shortness of breath(fatigue) with any physical activity I do(bending over for short periods, lifting, carrying heavy things.the swelling has been persistent for about a week,i sleep with my legs propped up and my feet and legs return to normal by morning, only to swell again by the end of the day.blood test came back negative.
I also feel it between my 2nd and 3rd fingers. When it is bad, my legs feel very heavy and I seem to shuffle my feet. The symptoms are increasing as I can no longer lie on my stomache. The feeling worsens when I lie on my stomache - probably because the tail bone is being squashed in this position. The feeling lessens after a bowel movement then returns again. I am scheduled for an X-Ray and to see a Neurologist. Just wondered if anyone had ever experienced anything like this.

I had blood work done and my doc checked thyroid, kidneys, liver and diabetes and said couldn't find anything. This is not the first time for this. It has happened several times in the past. Something has to be causing this and all they can say is they don't see anthing. Oh I also had an ultrasound done about two months ago when it happened last time. Found no clots. What else can I do, what is the next step. Something has to be wrong for this to continue to happen.
Hello. Do you have any other symptoms apart from the pins and needles ? If your LDH one was more than LDH 2, it suggests some heart problem. An LDH of 357 is slightly above the normal range and is probably not clinically significant. A cardiologist may be able to judge it better. If there are no such problems, I suggest you check your blood sugar levels for Diabetes. Diabetes can cause neuropathy which can give rise to the symptoms you have.
Implant hardware irratating gum tissue. My legs are very stiff at times and bottoms of feet feel numb at times. Difficult walking. When the p ain in mouth is bad, the numbness on soles of feet and stiffness of legs become worse. I believe there is some kind of neurological connection. Dentists ridicule.
Was diagnosed with chronic neuropathy in feet 9 years ago, no diabetes. Extremely high triglicerides and cholesterol. Pain was controlled by clonexapam in my feet but has within the last month spread. Nothing helps, including anitryptilin (sp). Each Dr looks at everything separately. I'm only 53, what should be my next step, pain is unbearable. Have been to Primary care, internist, emergency room, orthopedic. Please help.
For many years neuropathy has existed in my feet, toes and ankles. I would describe my stiff ankles as "wooden". The toes tingle the worse late afternoon and night. Six months ago I began to feel numbness extending up my leg to my knees. Most days I feel as if I'm walking on too sticks keeping me slightly off balance. Not tingling in the legs just a sense of heaviness and fluid building up. I take neurontin and diuretics for hypertension.
I AM A 69 YR OLD FEMALE & ONCE IN AWHILE ALL OF A SUDDEN I GET A NUMBNESS ON MY LEGS & CAN'T STAND UP OR I WILL FALL. THEN A TINGLING FROM TOP OF MY LEGS DOWN TO MY FEET, A WEAKNESS & FEELS COLD INSIDE MY LEGS. HAVE TO SIT AWHILE UNTIL IT GOES AWAY LASTING ABOUT 3 MINUTES. HAVE HAD THIS HAPPENING FOR ABOUT 3 YRS. COULD HIT ME AT ANY TIME NO MATTER WHAT I AM DOING.
Today, it has spread to encompass my feet, and is starting up the leg. I know a neighbor lady who has no feet - diabetes was the problem for her. I don't think I have diabetes, even though it runs on the maternal side of my family. My doc has checked, and there's no significant temperature difference. Nor are they turning blue. The most highly affected areas, on the soles of my feet, are actually a deadly-looking white, but usually the foot has to be wet to see it clearly.
Have major pain in neck and back of head, that goes in my arms and legs. I have burning now in my chest and arms and still have the internal tremors. Doctors keep putting me aside saying that they t hink i have postpartum depression and put me on meds. They aren't working and just feel like I am getting worse. SO scared and I have had my electrolytes just checked, this has been going on for over 3 months. I am in alot of pain and have been on gabapentin and found it did nothing.
The skin on his legs and feet turn bright red and itch like crazy. None of the doctors seem to know what causes it and typical topical ointments; i.e., cortisone, calamine, Benadryl do nothing except make the areas burn more. Currently, when this happens, he is given an injection of Prednazone then a prescription capsule(s) for several days. We'd also like to find out why this is happening. It seems to be confined to his legs and feet only.
