Avatar n tn Your symptoms of aching in the feet can be consistant with peripheral neuropathy, which is a condition caused by damage to the small nerves in your legs, usually happens in a length-dependant fashion, meaning it typically affects the peripheral parts first (feet) then as time goes by it can progress to involve more proximal areas like the legs.
Avatar f tn My uncle just turned 60 years old and a doctor recently diagnosed him with RLS. But, the symptoms just don't seem to fit the typical pattern. For the past 9 - 12 months, he has had symptoms of "burning feet" and shaking of the lower extremties. The symptoms are worse during the day, but seem to get better when he lays in bed (symptoms alleviate during the night). He has seen several doctors who have ruled out: athlete's foot, diabetes, Parkinson's Disease ...
Avatar m tn Feels like I am walking on rocks in the balls of my feet and my heals. My ankles and feet swell. My feet feel hot.
Avatar f tn I am a 74 yr. old female, started with burning feet and legs seven months ago. Had an MRI which showed mild arthritis in lower back. Was sent to pain specialist who diagnosed my problem as spinal stenosis although MRI did not indicate this. He injected triamcinolone acetonide nos into the nerves along the spine in November. It did relieve the burning in the legs but not the feet. The burning returned in March, worse than ever.
Avatar n tn All bloodwork and exam by neurologist says I dont have diabetes yet my feet have been very sensitive the last three months. Feels like feet have been chafed. Worse in the AM getting out of bed.Lower legs weak and mild pain.Same style shoes for years. Any suggestions?
201149 tn?1211507130 I have the same problem. My feet is on fire and it goes up to my thighs. Spasms and unbearable pain. I have an appointment to see a vascular surgeon and an neurologist next week. Still, the medication the doctor gave me is not working. I'm screaming....but I'm alive. Gotta remain focus. It could be worse.
Avatar f tn Also could you tell me if this is going to spread throughout my body ( the nerve endings dying ) because i have other symptoms such as pains in my feet, toes and legs, awful cramps and numbness, after lying down the pains in my feet are shocking...How dangerous is all this for my health? Please tell me the truth. I know i've gone on a little but theres one more thing, could you suggest what type of food i should be eating for the issues i have with my health please?
Avatar m tn i also have the same issue but it aggravates if i use synthetic blanket when i use cotton blanket i feel back to normal i need to check in winter season this year since i use thick blanket then and my feet feel hot after 15-20 min of sleep. But keeping my feet outside helps me sleep i got checked for thyroid and diabetes nothing as of now.I have to check this winter if i feel the same.
Avatar f tn With small fiber neuropathies, symptoms include burning, tingling, or buzzing or other vague symptoms starting in the feet and hands then in some cases spreading to other parts of the body. The EMG/nerve conduction studies (NCS) (tests done to check for neuropathy) will not show an abnormality, and a definitive diagnosis can only be made with a skin biopsy so that the number of nerve endings can literally be counted.
8526246 tn?1405601876 s going on or offers any suggestions as of what to do to help me. I woke up today with elephant legs and feet. I have no more ankles and my feet are beyond swollen they hurt to even move.
Avatar m tn My feet and legs started to swell about two weeks ago, so much so I had to buy shoes two sizes than I usually wear. Shortly after my feet started to turn red. I don't know the cause of this and neither does my Doctor, although he has taken blood work but results still are not back. He said it could be caused by the heart not working correctly, my liver or my lungs. I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem and maybe shed a little light on this subject.
1529167 tn?1291852703 My legs and thighs still tingle, but there is almost complete numbness and aches and pains in my feet. The past few weeks my feet and ankles (mostly the right one) are swelling with some kind of fluid also a slight purplish discoloration. It takes about 2 days before they completley go down. So my over all question is, does this sound like MS or Diabetes, or just plain old Neuropathy? I have no insurance at this time, but i am getting very concerned.
Avatar f tn I have had a full blood count, thyroid checked, hormones levels all done recently, but not a diabetes check or vitamin B12 check. I am going to go back to my GP as the symptoms are getting worse in my legs and made driving yesterday so very difficult, thank you for your reply.
Avatar n tn Burning feet or any foot pain CAN come from the lumbosacral spine being abnormal, the nerves that come out of the lower spine go down into the legs and feet, diff levels of vertebrae produce diff locations of discomfort. I am not sure about your prostrate trouble having anything to do with your feet, but I can tell you that if it burns when you urinate, that likely means you have a urinary tract infection, which can be cleared up by antibiotics, so see a general doc about that.
Avatar n tn No history of diabetes, I do not smoke, and sometimes my ankles and feet are a little swollen.
Avatar n tn I have had diabetes for 16yrs now and now i am 24, but I have experienced the numbness too. I have numbness inmy legs, feet, and sometimes hands. My doctors have told me that it was a side effect from diabetes. The nerves in my legs are dying off due to my poor control of blood sugars. Have you talked to your diabetes doctor about this? if not, i would because it could be diabetes related and not a pinched nerve. Best of luck to you!!!
Avatar f tn Is this from HIV infection or is my diabetes showing up with symptoms. The symptoms come and through out the day. Is this HIV.
Avatar n tn I am a healthy 22 year old woman, I eat very healthy and exercise every day. I am not overweight (120 lbs.) and I have never had any serious health problems in my entire life. About 2 months ago I started getting a strong, painful tingling in the bottom of my feet whenever I would cough, sneeze, laugh, stretch, take a deep breath or other movements. I've checked everywhere for information about this symptom and the only answer I've had is diabetes.

Avatar f tn I can be sweating and my feet will be freezing. My feet go to sleep for no reason, and when they wake up, my toes hurt. I feel comfortable everywhere except my feet. I have type 2 diabetes but my A1C is 6 as of yesterday.
Avatar n tn I have had type 2 diabetes for going on 3 years now, I am 47 and my job has me sitting alot. Lately I have had numbness in my legs and feet after sitting for a while and a few days ago i notice my feet were peeling, not from dryness but they look like i had worn wet shoes for days, the skin was white and bubbled over the underlying skin. I hate to admit it but I forget my meds alot, which consist of 3 pills in the morn and 5 at night and I am guessing the numbness is due to poor circulation.
Avatar f tn I have just been diagnosed with low Vit D. I have burning feet and tingling legs, feet and hands. My neurologist says i have ideopathic neuropathy and nerve damage ( i have had two spinal fusions) as well as radiculopathy. He suggested I might have diabetes but the blood work showed Vit d deficiency. Can this cause neuropathy? I also have stiff joints and have had calcific tendonitis this year. Is this all connected? Thanks for your help.

Avatar n tn For the past several months, I've been plagued occasionally by what I thought were insect bites. I got nervous about bed bugs, fleas, mites, etc., but could never find any bugs. When I was at the doctor for another reason I asked him, and he said that they didn't look like bites, but rather like something from inside me--like hives, is what I took him to mean, or an allergic reaction.
