At the same time I was informed by one of the nurses that I had diabtes. It rang up 8.5 which, according to my brother who has had diabetes for years, is not that serious. However, I am not one to ignore danger signals so, I will be looking into all the info regarding the problem. Every time my wife looks at me she shakes her head. She says that if there are any more diseases out there I should stay away from them.

Hey all! Welllll....here's the news...first, the good news....My labs seem to be stabilizing! So, though I'm still anemic, no Procrit for now! And...the better news..I'm UND!!!!!! Wha HOOOO!!!! We bought 2 guinea pigs 7 days before our 7 yr old began coughing and running a constant low grade temp. WE're now on day 13, but have taken 5 days of z-pac, xopenex nebulizer and codituss cough med with codiene. Her coughing during the day is much improved but as soon as she lies down for bedtime the coughing begins. She coughed over an hour before falling asleep and then coughed almost non-stop from 1:30-6:30 this am. Still running a low-grade temp.

Just to let you all know had diabetes tests over two weeks, and good news no Diabetes, so cream doughnuts back on the menu :) and doc was really good this morning about numb bits of me,she is much more friendly towards me and is taking things seriously,even to the point of writing to my workplace so i dont lose job.

I was just watching the local news today and they were talking about opening a Farrell's here in a couple weeks. How many of you remember Farrell's?? Dang it ! that brings back some childhood memories !! I loved Farrell's and have many a ribbon to show..."I at the pigs trough".....lol. Hello everyone am 12 weeks and they called me from a specialist office making me appts and i asked the lady why and she like u have diabetes ??? So now am scared and dont want to eat anything cuz i dont know if it will harm my baby.... But what am really upset if that my ob dident call and told me the news???? Has anyone been threw this???

Just because pigs are fed GMO feed, doesn't meant they are "diseased". Most of the products we eat these days have some sort of chemical additives, unless you make sure you are buying only totally organic foods, including the flour and sugar you buy, as well as all your fruits, veggies.

If you don't get a call within a few days I would say it's safe to say you don't have it

ve gotten pink eye once, and I often find it hard to breathe. Could this be caused by the guinea pigs? I would assume that since spending 10 years with rabbits without issues, I would be fine with guinea pigs, too. The rabbits have always lived in my bedroom, cages are regularly cleaned, at least twice if not thrice a week. I use kitty litter for them. Same as with the guinea pigs. The cages are washed and cleaned regularly.

I have recently started to feed my (16 year-old) cat a high protein diet (Orijen), devoid of all carbs, hoping to stay away from diabetes that way. Now the vet tells me that's a bad idea because a high protein level in food (anything over 40%) leads to the production of urea and actually harms the cat's kidneys. I am very confused. My cat is healthy, but which is the right food composition to keep it that way?

I would say no news is good news. I also failed my 1 hour glucose test on December 22nd and I had to take the 3 hour one december 31st and a day later I got a call saying i failed. So I would take it that you have passed.
