Avatar f tn what are the signs of type 2?
Avatar m tn 1. STDs can be asymptomatic but most in men do cause symptoms. The symptoms may be mild and unnoticed but from the sounds of things, it sounds as though if you'd had even mild symptoms you would have pursued them. 2. Very, very rarely. 3. Related to 2 above, yes, most bacterial STDs will cure themselves over time. 4. It might cure gonorrhea. Little effect on nongonococal urethritis if it were present. 5. In your specific situation, I see no reason for testing. 6.
Avatar m tn He should talk to a doctor to find out if it's a sign of diabetes or not. I know the artificial sweetener in diet sodas has other issues of its own. It's plausible-sounding that it could be diabetes or maybe some kind of kidney issue.
Avatar f tn m wondering what, in your opinion, my risk might be. I could run to the store and grab another test, but I was just reading up and found that they have produced a number of false negatives, therefore I'd rather get a blood test. Until that's possible, I'm curious about your opinions. As mentioned, I am a woman who has only ever slept with women, never shared toys. Thank you for any input.
Avatar m tn First, in general the STD rates in Japan are lower than in most industrialized countries and syphilis is especially rare. (That you "don't see much difference" between heterosexual and gay male syphilis rates is a bit irrational. The fact is that syphilis is hundreds of times more common in gay men than in heterosexual men and women in the US and western Europe.) Second, you describe a partner who is pretty careful, i.e.
Avatar n tn Hi Hoang, ok see a new tact being diabetes, it could be the meds that you are on that is given you your problem, But then you have not said anything about meds or are you doing by diet to control it.
Avatar n tn ve heard from with this a more complex pathology seems to occur in men which centres upon Auto Immune Dissease and the symptoms are a-typical and strongly psychological in character. TSH seems pretty useless in men. Mine was always pretty normal, but the hypo was so bad that I have nerve damage in legs and hands which reulted in balance problems.
Avatar f tn I don't want to be posting in the wrong place or anything, but this has been bothering me and I can't see a doctor for awhile because of some family complications, schedules, etc., so if anyone has the time please bear with me for this story. It started yesterday, I was at practice lifting weights, and I felt perfectly fine. Then I got a cramp in my stomache so I sat down, then got dizzy, and my vision blurred and hearing muffled until the point that I couldn't see at all.
Avatar n tn The humming was the worst just before she developed the bleed in her brain. Could you tell me if the humming in her brain could have been a sign of the aneurysm developing. The humming stopped after her surgery for a few days. Her blood sugar level is currently under 100 and her blood pressure is good.
4879855 tn?1360440197 Yeah, wouldn't want to do that taste test! Apparently, observant doctors used to diagnose diabetes in men by noticing little sugar crystals on the shoes (from the guys not aiming so well). Obesity is actually a risk factor for type 2 diabetes, not a symptom. As you said, people with not enough insulin or who are insulin resistant can't properly transfer sugar in the blood to the cells where it is needed.
Avatar m tn FEMALE TO MALE RATE OF TRANSMISSION (HSV2 ONLY STATS IS NOT APPLICABLE FOR HSV1) If you have 100 couples where the female has HSV2 but not the male (these figures are over a year) the odds of female to male transmission are, if you do nothing other than avoid sex during an outbreak, 4 men out of a 100 will get herpes in a year, or 4%. If you do go on a suppressive therapy then it drops to 2 men out of a 100 in a year, or 2%.
Avatar f tn We have a varied and full sex life, unprotected of course after all these years together, what are the chances of an infection in other areas of my body. Plus after giving him oral last week ( and thinking about it) several times over the last few years I have had an ulcers inside my mouth. Last week, some looked more like lesions. Sorry to have written so much but need to know risks, as I am reading here that oral isn't really an issue without protection for men.
Avatar f tn I took my 1 hour Blood Glucose test over a week ago and I got the results back and I failed. I believe average is 69-139 and my levels were a 159. What are the chances that I can pass my 3 hour fasting blood glucose test? Diabetes runs in the family and I'm kind of worried?
468796 tn?1220029445 Right now your blood glucose is normal, however having high insulin is an indication that your cells are becoming resistant to taking in the insulin which in turns lower your glucose level. If insulin in the blood remains high, eventually the cells will wear out and will not accept the insulin at all. At that point, your blood glucose levels start to rise and you on your way to Type 2 diabetes.
