Yes, these are all symptoms of type I diabetes in children. My child was wetting the bed, extremely thirsty all the time and was vomiting; his vomiting, we think, was contributed to a stomach virus he had at the time. We took him to the ER due to dehydration -they did a blood chemistry and his blood sugar was 399-they immediately admitted him to ICU and he was put on IV insulin. He's been a diabetic now for 3 years-he's now 9. He's has handled it amazingly well!

While I have never heard of headaches being related to any kind of reaction to insulin, I know from personal experience that horrible headaches sometimes accompany low blood sugar levels. While they sometimes go away when the glucose levels return to normal after drinking some juice, I have found that sometimes they stay with me for hours after a low blood sugar spell. So my first question would be: has your son experienced any low blood sugar episodes at all on days when he has headaches?

It is surprising to read that your hubby's doc said there's "no inheritance factors," because research tells a different story. JDRF funds much of the diabetes research worldwide and lots of it deals with trying to understand the genetics of our disease.

The oral glucose tolerance test is conducted by measuring blood glucose levels five times over a period of 3 hours. In a person without diabetes, the glucose levels in the blood rise following drinking the glucose drink, but then then fall quickly back to normal (because insulin is produced in response to the glucose, and the insulin has a normal effect of lowing blood glucose.

Truely normal blood sugar in adults will be close to 83 and will not vary much at all from this point, and definitely under 100 nearly all the time. In children it may be a bit lower, but probably not lower than 70.
Fasting levels 99 - 125 are considered prediabetic
Fasting levels > 126 are considered diabetic.
2 hours after eating numbers should not be above 120, and numbers above 140 will be considered diabetic.

(Fasting = 79, 1/2hr = 81, 1hr = 71, 2hr =79) I have a very strong family history of diabetes and am working to prevent it in myself At least, that's what I hope.
Currently I:
- walk/run (4mph+, usually on an incline of 2-10 degrees) between 15 and 40 miles per week
- am a mostly vegan and try to avoid refined sugars of any sort. I do eat sashimi once every few weeks.
I have had mostly constant burning sensation in my upper legs for about 2 weeks now. It is accompanied by both lower legs having a warm water dripping down from them. It's very scary. The sides of legs also burn as if I'm standing too close to a flame. Anyone relate or any suggestions on what to do?
He is wearing the pump and I have a little bit of experience with diabetes because I was in the health care field before joining! My question is how do I help him see that his life is not over and that there is much more to life than diabetes! Okay I'm a hispanic male 34 years of age from southern California in early march I met a 27 year old hispanic mother of 2 children . We talked for 3 weeks before a first date a week later we went for a second date which was april ,18, 2015 towards the end of the night it got intimate we ended up sleeping with each other 4 times that night.
both grandmothers developed diabetes in their 50s and all of my uncles on my mother's side (3 brothers out of 6 siblings) developed diabetes in their 40s. I get tested annually and my A1 level (about a yr and a half ago) was a 5.1 and my last 3 fasting tests (all within the last year) ranged from 89-98. I'm told thats normal. I've been seriously training with weights 5X a week for about 3 months and want to gain muscle mass.
