172023 tn?1334672284 If we already have a lot of photos in our profiles, and we want to reorganize them and make new albums, is there a way to simply move photos around? Without having to go back to our computer files, find them again, and upload them again into new albums? Thanks.
Avatar f tn Blind dogs can manage very well, but obviously it is better to have the cataracts removed if finance permits. Dogs blind from birth fare better than dogs that become blind later in life. You already have an understanding about not moving furniture, etc., and there are lots f things you can do to improve the quality of life for a blind dog, but ultimately they are still compromised ... and some gs deal with it better than others. You didn't cause this to happen.
Avatar f tn I have a family friend who is in school for photography. She is doing mine for only $100. 50 pictures and a CD. I am not due until december so I will probably have them done outside in the fall. I will have some done with just me and some done with my hubby.
Avatar m tn for the past two weeks he pants 90% of the time? Even when he is in the house for more than two hours. AC is on. Can this be atributed to the diebetes? He has been diebetic for two years now.
1994268 tn?1329466212 It is important to bite the bullet and take him in to the vet for these lumps to be checked. His excessive drinking also has to be addressed. It could be caused by a number of things....kidney insufficiency, or diabetes (which, if caught nice and early respond very well to treatment) Or there may be another cause, but it is best it is discovered quickly so treatment can be started. He will need a full blood-count. And he will need those lumps checked.
Avatar f tn It could be Diabetes, that is usually the first thing to look at with these signs. He could also have a UTI infection, but most male dogs don't get them, but they can get them. If it is diabetes, you would give him a shot twice a day and maybe some pills, if it a UTI, then a round of antibiotis. I hate that as our beloved pets get old they get ill, but so do we. Please let us know what you learn.
Avatar n tn Moke, a normal meal may take four hours to digest totally but starts to digest much sooner so you need insulin in your system when the food starts to digest. The insulin stays in your system (depending on what type) for several hours. You may need to test your blood sugar two hours after eating occasionally and if it is high or low, you can talk to your doctor or diabetes educator about adjusting your insulin.
Avatar f tn s collar, tons of pictures of him with her, his old toys, and his old brush in a box in her closet. She still has times where she pulls that box out, and she just takes out the toys and the pictures and looks at them for a while. She talks about him every chance that she gets. Her mother brought up the subject of getting another dog, and during every trip we've taken to the animal shelter, she always favors dogs that resemble Sherman. She carries these two pictures with her : http://i54.

1006035 tn?1485575897 If the refrigerator has the kind of handle that a strong rope or cloth can be tied to, a dog can be trained to pull on that to open the door for the person in need. In fact, larger breed dogs have been known to open the newer models that don't have that kind of handle. UNTRAINED larger breed dogs have been known to raid the refrigerators and owners have had to resort to large chains and padlocks. Trained dogs are not going to do that.
795389 tn?1413139574 I live in an upstairs unit and cannot have dogs anymore. I used to have 2 doggies, they lived to be 14 & 16 years.I would love to hear from people who have dogs...
2065896 tn?1373685384 Yep, prednisone (long-term) can cause diabetes both in humans and dogs. One of our dogs (a Toy Fox Terrier) was on prednisone for about 8 months due to health problems including allergies, he developed diabetes, and now is on insulin and a low-carbohydrate diet. (I think it's more likely in dogs to cause diabetes, I was on prednisone at high doses from 2-14 years old and I have some long-term side effects that do remain but I don't have diabetes.) Have you tried adjusting her diet?
Avatar m tn When they are fed sugar on a regular basis (as 90% of food for them - chinchilla food has sugar in it) they develop diabetes and one of first symptoms is cataracts and white eyes. It would worth checking into whether prairie dogs are similar.
Avatar m tn I think this is an adenoma, a type of cancer. My dog also had it, a malignant adenoma, and this was fatal.
Avatar f tn I was showing pictures of my new puppy to one of the little girls at the dance studio where my son takes classes. My puppy is a chocolate lab mix. She told me, "We have a teacher at our school who has trouble with her body, so she has a 'body dog' that looks like that that helps her out." I did tell her that they were usually called "service dogs" or "assistance dogs" but I thought it was cute.
931246 tn?1297902651 Buckley is being booked in to have a full blood work done. The vet isn't sure if it's his liver kidneys or Diabetes. But he is very worried that it could be something bad.
Avatar f tn b they also mentioned because of my weight I have top be careful for gestational diabetes..does that make any difference in ultrasound?
Avatar n tn When dogs lose weight this fast I always worry about diabetes. Volunteering at the Humane Society made me see some elderly dogs diabetes' cases and the first thing was that the lost completely appetite. So I would suggest having him checked by the vet so he can run some tests and find the cause immediately.
605458 tn?1539228808 Anyone else experience this. My dog gets insulin once a day. He only needs it once a day for the following reason. His sugar should drop to its lowest 6-8hrs after he gets his insulin. My dog's sugar doesn't drop until 12-14 hrs after, so when we tried him on twice a day, the doses began to overlap and he got hypoglycemic. He does this consistently. He was on NPH, but we have just started him on Vetsulin to see if it will regulate his blood sugar better.
Avatar n tn She has been sick since Sunday and has been diagnosed with pancreatis, which apparently is a common problem in dogs with Cushings. Currently she is in the hospital on IV fluids and IV antibiotics. We are very fortunate to have a very good local vet and her condition does seem improved, but we always have the option of taking her to University of PA veterinary hospital. They are wonderful compassionate people there and have been life savers for some of our other animals.
Avatar n tn Hi Janie001 ~ thank you for coming to our site in search of answers to your question regarding type 1 diabetes and Cushings disease. The volunteers at this site are parents of type 1 or themselves diabetic and none of us are medical professionals, simply people who collectively have many years experience dealing with this disease. I have very little knowledge of Cushings myself, so I, too, did a search and found much more on Cushings in dogs as did you.
1482261 tn?1287786718 Hi, thanks for the help, I have had 4 other dogs around them all the time, they love the other dogs and interact with them just fine, and they see me loving and holding them, and playing with them, but they still wont let me touch them.
Avatar n tn He had several other symptoms of Diabetes also. This is different. She does drink twice as much as the other dogs, she pees constantly, to where I've had to diaper her to keep her from going all over my house. It's either that or I get up every hour to take her outside. I recently lost my job, we are barely eating right now, there's just no way I can pay for a dental procedure that according to the vet could cost up to $800.00. I still owe them for the most recent visit.
Avatar m tn We Need HELP with our dog!!! Background: We have a very stubborn, male, Beagle named Romeo. We've had him for almost thee years. He was overweight when we took him in, and he's lost some weight while with us, but not a lot. Romeo is about 10 years old. He dreams and snores loudly. He has a seizure about once every 3-4 months, but the vets don't know why. Other than that, he's our sweet, “old-man” pup.
