Avatar f tn There are those that say that diabetes type 2 was brought on by diet and that it can be corrected by diet. Those that utter those words are not in the medical field, they are however doctors of nutrition and body chemistry a subject most doctors are never taught in medical school since they are learning more about how to dispense drugs.

Avatar f tn If your stomach is not flat at that weight, you may need to add fiber to your diet. You must be constipated or be bloated with gas. Yoga can also help these issues. When you exercise, you must work your muscles and concentrate on holding your abs flat. If you push them out, you are teaching them to protrude.
868616 tn?1239866236 Wouldn't it be beneficial to have a diet tracker so one could the relationship to weight, diabetes, sleep or any one of a number of other conditions and variables. It needn't have every food in details but cover groups of foods.
Avatar n tn Dear winkster, Actually a diabetic diet is really only what a healthy diet would be for people without diabetes. And fruits are a part of that even though they have sugar it get metabolized like any other carbohydrates.
603046 tn?1279159413 t mention anything about your diet and exercise which are very important factors in controlling diabetes. What about your weight? As you discovered in the past, if you get your weight down a bit, it will also lower your blood sugar. Having said that, yes, your numbers are creeping up. Your fasting should be under 100 and your non-fasting under 140. If you are averaging 150, that means you are higher sometimes. I'm a bit unclear on what your doctor has been saying for the past four years.
Avatar f tn No but b glad... means ur diet is working.
Avatar f tn It's very normal. I have gestational diabetes and I've gained 12 pounds and I'm almost 36 weeks pregnant. If you're following your diet, that's why you're not gaining a ton of weight. Only be concerned if your doctor is.
Avatar n tn Can you clarify? You absolutely need to follow a diabetic diet, so there's no choice there. Are you on one you don't like? What is it you're looking for exactly?

Avatar f tn Hildiekatt developed diabetes. Chesapeake developed congestive heart failure. These are the 2 girls we lost this year, though Hildie succumbed to lymphoma, after she had gone into remission from the diabetes.
279415 tn?1217371630 ve never had it, but I believe you have to stick to a regular diabetes diet. I would just stay away from the sugars and I think starches until you see your Dr. Good luck! I've read it's really not a big deal as long as you follow the Drs orders.

Avatar n tn Ive read many problems concerning the Diabetic diet posted on the diabetes website that it hurts the diabetics more than helping them. Is this true? What do you think?
Avatar n tn Thank you for your comment. I should have provided more info but wanted to keep it brief. My weight is good and I do exercise - walking is what I love. There is a history of Type 11 on both sides of my family and I did have gestational diabetes back 40 years ago. And no obesity in family either. About 30 years ago, my mother insisted I be checked for diabetes, given the history.
Avatar m tn 4 for my AC1 level. My diabetes doctor told me if I saw a weight lost doctor I could possibly have a chance of getting off of my insulin. Is that true?
Avatar f tn I would suggest a teaching hospital. You have an unusual "package" of symptoms. At teaching hospitals a senior physician shows up with a half dozen or so tadpoles and your case becomes a "group" project. The diagnosis becomes part of the teaching process. You have an extremely interesting set of symptoms, sure to provoke interest.
