Avatar n tn im needing to find a simple diabetic diet plan. the doctor gave me one but it seems really complicated. does anyone know any good sources for diabetic diet plans?
Avatar n tn last year i was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian disease. i need help in managing my diet plan. i daily do cycling (static) for 10 min. please help me.
Avatar n tn There is a diet called the DASH diet which was created to help people with diabetes, high blood pressure, and hypertension. You can do a little research on line about DASH; some sites even have a menu plan. First, you should definitely discuss this w/ your doctor, to see if this would be a good diet for you to follow during your pregnancy. Also, keep exercising daily ~ exercise really makes a huge difference w/ high blood pressure, it lowers it...
Avatar f tn Does anyone have any advise or know of any resources or web sites that might help me with a low sodium diet plan and help me to track my sodium intake? Also does anyone know anything about the DASH diet and if this might be a good plan to follow? Thanks for everyone's help!
Avatar f tn //www.webmd.com/diabetes/features/five-ways-to-control-type-2-diabetes#1. Cutting down on carbohydrates, eating a heathy diet are important as is getting to a good weight that is within healthy BMI. But do note that simply working on it and losing 'some' weight is better than nothing and you will impact your health in a positive way by doing this. As for hypertension/high blood pressure. Again, there are life style things to try.
Avatar n tn Why are you posting and not your father? Can you explain "precautions"? Do you mean prevent his diabetes from progressing? If yes we need to know what he is doing to control and manage his diabetes - foods he eats, exercise program, blood sugar levels and when he tests? "the good diet plan for them...." Changing lifestyle habits can go a long way in controlling type 2 diabetes. India leads the world in diabetes. This is mainly due to poor diet/nutrition.
Avatar n tn Low-Calorie Diet Several studies in England have looked at the effects of a very low-calorie diet on diabetes. Two had people follow a mostly liquid diet of 625-850 calories a day for 2-5 months, followed by a less restricted diet designed to help them keep off the weight they lost. Both studies found that nearly half the people who took part reversed their diabetes and kept their blood glucose near the normal range for at least 6 months to a year. This type of diet is extreme.
Avatar f tn Choose foods that are low in salt, such as fresh meats, poultry, fish, dry and fresh legumes, eggs, milk and yogurt and do not add any excess salt to your diet. void herb or spice mixtures that contain salt or sodium. You can bake, broil, grill, roast, poach, steam or microwave foods without salt. Avoid canned foods, vegetable or tomato soups, salted crackers, bacon, canned meats or fish, cold cuts, dehydrated soups and pickled vegetable.
1328782 tn?1275077937 So I have had my gall bladder removed and Totally did not follow the meal plan givin to me..now I have type 2 diabetes and still eat horrible!! What can I do to follow a meal plan that suits my life??
Avatar m tn Just eat normal... eat healthy. Honey and green tea are great. Fruit juices are great too. I try to avoid salt in my foods as well, but can't always do so. I end up getting out for dinner a lot so I try to order what has the least amount of salt. There's not actual "diet plan" for you to follow, just eat clean and smart. I tend to include a lot of fruits and veggies in my diet. It helps!
Avatar f tn Without a complete history, physical exam, lab review and medication list, I can’t give you an exact diagnosis or treatment plan. Since you haven’t mentioned anything, I am assuming you’re a relatively healthy patient without diabetes and without anything wrong with your kidneys (your creatinine is normal?) and without any abnormality on the EKG.
Avatar n tn Along with avoiding sugary foods a low to no carb diet plan is recommended for t2 diabetics. Carbs to t2 diabetics are the same as sugar - elevates our glucose [blood sugar] above and beyond acceptable levels. A very good place to look for low carb recipes is the Atkins [diet] web site http://tinyurl.com/atkins-recipes . Replace sugar with artificial sweeteners such as Splenda or Stevia.
Avatar f tn Also, if you do the three hour test and its determined you have gestational diabetes, the doc will put you on a diet. You can look up a diet plan on the Internet and save time and money. I don't think there are meds to control this either. I have cut out a lot of sweets from my diet. I actually feel a lot better. I felt weak and tired a lot before. I guess this was partly why.
Avatar f tn So basically I struggle eating and would like to have a simple one off meal that's serves all my nutritional needs. I just forget to eat and because of this I'm underweight. Trying my best to put weight on but it's hard for me. So I came across homemade protien bars. made from oats, protien powder, peanut butter, almonds, milk, honey, chocolate, almonds and I decided to add in a multivitamin crushed into the flatjack mix. Isn't much fiber tho.
Avatar m tn When your blood sugar is on border line, then it is always good to control your blood sugar level at that stage itself with proper diet plan and with regular exercise. Have regular checkup to see your sugar level. You can even try for GlycaCare tablets containing herbal extracts and nutrients that would help you keep your sugar level in control.
Avatar f tn m glad you found this helpful! I did lose weight with being on the new meal plan and especially in the beginning of the diet. Now my weight is basically leveled out. I'm 37+2 and have barely gained weight since having GD and being on the new diet. Oh, and I know for me, my water intake has increased a lot! Maybe that has something to do with my weight, but I have noticed I'm more thirsty and mainly for cold water. So, if this should happen to you ladies do not worry and it is normal.
140029 tn?1393298142 I just left a message with my allergist asking for a food elimination diet. I 99% sure i'm soy intolerant and suspect corn but I can't find the problem holding me up...(I know there's an allergy section but this one is more active). Hopefully my allergist will respond but sometimes only $$$ motivates doctors (office visit is like $200+ and i'm unemployed with this problem) does anyone know any good elimination diets? I did one but never knew about white potatoes for example..
1802952 tn?1315981161 I'm trying to find a good diet for me. The thing is I had my gallbladder taking out and I can't eat a lot of foods like I could before. Is there a good diet plan for someone who had their gallbladder taking out? Also, I'm a picky eater..LOL! I think that's why I do so bad on diets.

1172209 tn?1263427216 I am on lithium and it says not to change your salt intake without talking to your doctor, so make sure you do that. But salt makes you retain water, and lithium is salt, so ask about that. Also have a blood test to rule out diabetes (unless you already have it, of course.) Next, call your insurance company and see if they cover what is called Medical Nutrition Therapy (or MNT, if you have diabetes they may cover for this.
