439253 tn?1240835565 Hi, I don't think I have met you yet, but I just had to ask this question when I seen the word pop! I live in Tennessee now and have for 14 years but I am origionally from southeast Kentucky. I haven't heard anyone else call it pop in 14 years, I love it. That's what I called it when I moved here and nobody knew what I was talking about. I still call it Pop when I am with my family. Are you from Kentucky? Anyway if there is any kind of link then I sure know that it is true for me.
1281603 tn?1283798699 I would like to add to that advice that diabetic complications are very real and to encourage everyone diagnosed with either form of diabetes or even pre-diabetes to take responsibility to monitor and control your blood sugars on a daily basis. We tend to trust doctors to keep us well and especially here in the U.S. we rely on medication for EVERYTHING. No doctor can follow us around 24/7 and make sure we eat right, exercise, maintain healthy weight and take the meds they actually prescribe.
1300526 tn?1275771621 The bottle from the pharmacy says take two twice a day, no one seems to really care how I take em when I ask about this. Sometimes I seem to get metformin that are coated and sometimes they are not, have bin given three or four different brands over time and seems to be whats on the menu when I order my prescription, who knows what brand it will be next. What is better?
Avatar n tn Go to the nearest ER. The doctor should look at the wound, treat it, then run tests to check for parasites. He/she should also start your bf on antibiotics. As troy stated, this is a diabetic forum. I replied because years ago I got a parasite infection from a nick while in CR.

Avatar f tn s age, but reasons could include diabetes with uncontrolled glucose, onset of nuclear cataracts, and degenerative myopia with progressive axial growth of the eye and retinal degeneration. Your sister should see an ophthalmologist for a complete exam, including dilation. She may also need to see a retinal specialist.
Avatar f tn pdf Many users here would gladly trade places with you because they already have cataracts, macular degeneration, uveitis, retinal bleeding from diabetic retinopathy (smoking doubles the risk of diabetes). Lots of people develop these diseases even though they do not smoke. There is often no reason why these problems arise in patients and severely affect their eyesight.

Avatar m tn I found out that N fowleri has not had any victims in Kentucky, but I also found that it is relatively commonplace. I cannot get to a doctor wihout help, and my doctor is far away. Please help me. I cannot spend one second without thinking about dying.
Avatar n tn So mommies, in January of this year I allowed my deadbeat ex to come pick our child up after 8 months of not seeing her and take her to Kentucky to his home... With a verbal agreement that he would bring her back in two weeks (my own ******* fault) well, since then he managed to get soul custody- he has rich parents, but multiple run ins with the law- and I've neverrrrrr done anything wrong.
Avatar f tn Does anybody know if Kentucky is going to b hit by the tornadoes? If there's any chance. My brother is stationed there. And he's in field training right now so I can't get ahold of him. He's also my best friend. I'm really worried.

Avatar f tn I see from your profile that you are in Kentucky. Your decision on where to take her will likely depend on a number of factors: her age, your geographical location and willingness/ability to travel, and your insurance coverage. If you want to go to a hospital with an actual dysautonomia clinic (that is, with comprehensive dysautonomia testing capabilities and dedicated autonomic specialists), your options are limited.
Avatar n tn s Disease and the family doctor has told her she has done everything she knows how to do. We are looking for another primary care doctor for her. She has a great dermatologist and endocrinologist but we need a pcd. Also, is anyone out there in Louisville, KY that has Dercum's? Thanks!
Avatar n tn t sleep most nights. Even the sheets hitting her leg is too much to take. She was negative for diabetes and she had vascular tests done that were all normal. The doctor now wants her to have a biopsy done. Are they thinking skin cancer? Even from a little cut from a razor? She' never been a sun worshipper. I'm worried. Thank you for any information.
