Avatar f tn My Doctor tells me my blood sugar level is normal. I am a 53 yr. old female, wt is 172, I'm quite well, other than high blood pressure, which is controlled with medication. I would like to find out what normal glucose readings are, when do you have to worry, because diabetes runs in my family.
Avatar n tn His blood sugars are NOT fine. A fasting level of 121 mg/dl is prediabetes.
Avatar f tn Hello, Normal blood sugars in pregnant women are actually LOWER than normal blood sugars in non-pregnant persons. The totally normal range in pregnancy is somewhere between about 65 and 100. A blood sugar of 79 30 minutes or so after eating is totally normal, and shows no signs of diabetes at all. You should be very pleased with this number. Of course, eat healthy and avoid excess sweets. Take regular moderate exercise. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy.
910435 tn?1296748610 People with this type tend to rise in the morning with higher than normal blood glucose levels, and after eating may have a drop in blood glucose levels. I call it a reverse spin cycle [no pun intended]. A lot of doctors have not been made aware or just do not know how to treat LADA. Frequent testing before meals and after meals to see how foods affect your blood glucose is a must. Bad carbs and starches are bad guys so pay strict attention to the intake. Do you have a home glucose meter?
Avatar f tn My blood sugars fluctuate drastically...all blood work is normal....I have hypothyoidism, right lobe still present with nodules present. I break out in sweats..I end up drenched...sugar 264...then I get shivers...sugar drops to 120s I had a pancreatic scan done 5yrs. ago and it was ok...everything comes back normal....one endocrinologist said I was developing diabetes and he didn't know why my sugars fluctuated the way they did and he would know what to do about it...
Avatar n tn In general, if your blood sugar level is below 100 mg / dL after fasting for at least 8 to 10 hours, then your blood sugar is normal. Blood sugar levels are usually lowest before each meal.
Avatar n tn If that value is 78, then it is a border line case, the kidney is normal, but can shift to chronic kidney disease if it drops to less than 60. You need to keep diabetes or blood pressure or any other related problem under control.
Tbd http://www.medhelp.org/diabetes/articles/The-ABCs-of-Diabetes/2327 It's important that he get some goals for his levels from a doctor though, the doctor will be able to evaluate his specific case and will know better what levels he should be maintaining for fasting, and before and after meals.
Avatar n tn If it is diabetes, the sooner you treat and control those blood sugars, the better your chances are for avoiding complications from diabetes.
Avatar n tn Hi, yes eating before testing would increase the glucose levels in the body. Only carbohydrates (including grain products, fruits, juice, milk, yogurts, potatoes, corns--starchy foods) will raise the blood sugar level in the body. However, if you didn't fast (have not eaten for 8 hours or more), you must had a random glucose test done. they do have guidelines to tell what number is high. if your glucose level came up to be a bit above normal then you might be considered prediabetic.
Avatar m tn Neuropathy is a side effect of uncontrolled diabetes, where blood sugars are above normal, which causes damage to small nerves resulting in pain. THere are medications that can help treat this. However, most critical is that you control your blood sugar levels to as close to normal as possible and ideally below 140 at all times. What are your current blood sugar levels and A1C level.
1554354 tn?1297172064 I was tested for diabetes 5 months ago and my blood sugar was 120 and I didn't eat anything but it was at night am I a prediabetic?
Avatar m tn Hi Kumarqwp, that does seem strange. Here is an article from MedHelp.org about blood sugar, exercise and diabetes; typically your sugars are more in danger of going down with exercise than going up. Hopefully SuperSally88 our CL will come along; she is an avid exerciser and may have advice for you! http://www.medhelp.
3094000 tn?1341799387 I have what used to be called pre-diabetes. I've been at this level for a number of years. In the past two weeks, my sugars have been on the lower side of normal. One morning, my fasting blood sugar was 55. Tonight three hours after a meal, it was just 91. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn She ordered some blood work and I got my results today. She said everything was fine except my blood sugar level was 31. The doctor said that normal levels are between 65 and 100. I've looked online a bit and it looks like this can mean I have diabetes. I felt pretty tired when I had my blood drawn but I had eaten earlier in the day (maybe 2 hours before) and I hadn't exercised. I'm not sure what would cause my blood sugar to be that low!
