To lose weight we have to stay away from bread - so I suggest eating bread at every meal. You still need to eat vegetables and protein. Thinking potatoes and yams with butter. Also sugar makes you fat - so eat a dessert after supper. And some vanilla ice cream about an hour before bed should help you sleep and gain weight too. It's not necessary to eat fast food to gain weight - better to eat the right foods and gain slowly.
Ignore these lifestyle changes and you WILL become a diabetic. And keep in mind, there is no cure for diabetes so now is the time to turn your life around. Good luck.

The foul, sulfuric rotten egg/bad red wine burps and flatulence (and diarrhea) are mortifying. I bought a called "eat to beat diabetes", and I also bought the Mayo Clinics "The hepatitis c cookbook", they both are great sources for things to eat with hepatitis c , and even though the first book says diabetes, the same rules apply for Hepatitis C, and I agree with the hawk, most of us on running low on vitamin D, other then that good Info.
Keep in mind that things like white bread, most pasta, potatoes, things like that tend to elevate blood sugar quickly. In place of those, consider whole grains and sweet potatoes/yams. And of course, sugar and hidden sugar/corns syrups etc. Fasting sugar should be 125 mg/dL. Non of these values mean much with one test, but if repeated tests show problems, it’s time to address this. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2003; it’s not something you want to deal with if it can be avoided.
I must give her mashed Yams...a teaspoon full with her pills in the AM. She is back on Trilostane 22.5 mg. 1 X daily. She has to go off of it for a week each time she gets pancreatitis. It appears that yams have a lower Glycemic Load than sweet potatoes, and sweet potatoes have much lower Glycemic Load than white potatoes. I get these unexplained chills all the time, where im freezing cold with goose bumps all over my body. They hurt and I can barely walk they are so bad sometimes. This has been the case for almost 3 years now and she is a Junior in High School and thinking ahead to her future which hopefully will include children. She asked me recently if she will even be able to have children considering the fact that stopping the pills means she has a neverending period. I don't know what to tell her. We have been told so many times that her body will work it all out, but after several years, I am doubting their advice.
i had some ups and some downs but all in all i've had 21days vlcd and i'm down 14.6lbs. i can't seem to get out of the 170's and i'm bummed. the firt week i took off 9lbs. i think my iu concentration was a little higher so i mixed a new batch and that put me at 200iu/dose. maybe that'll do it? keep it up......we're that much closer to our goals!!
