Avatar n tn Do they carry glucose tablets with them at all times in case of unexpected lows. Diabetes is very much a condition that needs awareness and self-management. If the diabetics in your company do not know how to properly treat their diabetes with diet, weight control, exercise and regular testing they are putting themselves at risk.
Avatar f tn Honestly I know that a pregnancy can be very stressful. It has been for me. I know. But what I don't really understand is how can some people post serious things here instead of just calling the doctor or rushing to the ER asap. If you have any bleeding you are depressed, you feel like something is not ok please talk to a professional as soon as possible.
572651 tn?1530999357 Actually they offer this service of a microchip (for purchase of course) that contains all of my medical records, including my EKG's.... The AHA and the Cardio's recommend personal health records that are accessible from anywhere on line.

Avatar n tn If we can help him survive till tomorrow he WILL go to the vet but I need some advice to ensure that he makes it through the night. Help!!!
675347 tn?1365460645 Now is the time to do it...even if your dog is fit and well. Ask at your vet's office what plans would be in place for emergencies over the holiday period when the office is shut. Sometimes there is another number to ring for an "on-call" vet. Very often these numbers are left as a message on the vet's answer-phone, but maybe not -so do check. So put that number on speed dial. You probably won't need it, but it's there in case.
Avatar n tn http://www.medhelp.org/diabetes/articles/A-Safe-Pregnancy-with-Diabetes/1754 You can find this on the app by going to the home screen, and clicking the menu bar in the upper left corner. Tap Health Guide, then scroll to "Stay Well." Scroll down for "A Safe Pregnancy With Diabetes." Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn sometimes I think we just need reassurance that if we're taking the right step in getting emergency care or not...heck I've done it myself knowing my symptoms I should get myself to the ER but don't. as patients we can't say yes or no; but it's good to have somewhere to get some guidance at times.
Avatar n tn Dear Brookies, I am a volunteer with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Mom of a 16 year old who has had diabetes since the age of 21 months. I am not a medical professional, so any information that I give you should be verified with your physician and dietician. You don't mention your blood sugar readings in your e-mail, so I am not sure how you have determined that your lack of energy is due to hypoglycemia.
Avatar n tn Here is another option for you. Please go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's website at www.jdrf.org and click on the link to the Online Diabetes Support Team. You will be taken to a page where you can fill out a short form in order to send a request to this team for online support. Tell them exactly what you wrote here, that you are unemployed and are seeking info about health insurance.
231441 tn?1333892766 Lately I have been having frequent violent sneezing (many times a day), with intermittent running nose and itchy face and trunk. The sneezing and running nose also wake me in the middle of the night, and I have to keep blowing my nose for a while before it settles and I can sleep again. I haven't yet been able to identify clear cause or food trigger (other than peanuts, which recently have started to clearly cause an itch and burning/flushing reaction).
231441 tn?1333892766 "Does anyone know why they apply more stringent standards for diabetes during pregnancy than they do outside pregnancy?" Here's what I found that may help answer your question. http://www.musckids.com/health_library/diabetes/hyponew.htm http://diabetes.taragana.net/pre-pregnancy-diabetes-can-lead-to-birth-defects-in-newborn/ http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/pregnancy-and-diabetes/DA00042 http://www.diabetes.org/type-1-diabetes/sex-and-pregnancy/before-pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Since you are pregnant, it is important to rule out hypothyroidism, diabetes and high blood pressure as the cause of your symptoms. The former two can be done through simple blood test which can also be used to look into anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency and vitamin D deficiency. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar m tn hello, I had unprotected sex Tuesday of last week and didn't finish. the girl is not on birth control so I bought plan b, she took it 2 days later and the next week (this week) she is expecting her period. help?! please, I know that she has taken plan about 5 times this year and just went off of her birth control the previous month.
Avatar n tn Hello. I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. There's an old saying that there's no time like the present. The more you can test now, and the tighter you can control your diabetes, especially for the remainder of your pregnancy. I would contact your endo immediately and tell them your situation. They can help you work out a plan to get your diabetes in control, both for your health and the health of your baby. Good luck.
Avatar f tn well i got digestinal diabetes while pregnant and my question is after i have the baby how do i know if the diabetes goes away do u eat normally like u ate before and check ure sugars to see if your body responds or do u keep yourself on the diet u have been and for how long after, also what could happen if u eat sweets right after delivery (craving cheese cake and icescream for the longest time)???
Avatar f tn Anyone with diabetes and pregnant.?. So I'm on the pump and latter this after noon I realized my sugar was staying elevated. (260) Now I check it it's 396 and this is as high as it's ever been sense being pregnant I'm flipping out because I don't want it to hurt my baby but my bf is saying it's OK cause this is the first time ever being this high. Advice? I'm nervous and scared.
Avatar f tn Haha I hate diabetes and being pregnant. I'm hormonal as is and when my sugar gets a little low I'm a raging witch! It makes me laugh after but at the time everybody's like hey go eat some candy and shush. At least we're healthy for the most part here tho. She's not to big or small fluids good heart rates great. Can't wait till I can get rid of these dang hormones tho.
Avatar f tn Sometimes pregnancy and hormones can make diabetes flare up and throw your sugars off. When you are high the baby is high. Extra careful diet will be required and maybe extra insulin. Lots of people have babies with Type II but it's how they manage the two that makes the difference.
Avatar m tn Hi. Sorry for this issue you have to deal with. Pregnancy is a great thing though so hope you are enjoying it otherwise. Did you have both glucose tests? I triggered a reading in the diabetic range the first 2 hour test. (I ate a sandwich before the test, oops) and then had to do the confirming test of 4 hours glucose test. That was about zero fun, I'll tell you. But with that one, my blood sugar was normal (I fasted properly). You've had both tests and your sugar is still high?
