1095404 tn?1333992839 I wanted to get my body properly prepared this time and a nurse told me to have a look at Marilyn Glenvilles site, lots of info but the thing I wanted to tell you all is that if you research the benefits of fish oil DHA etc you will see that all the info tells you the same thing, IT CAN HELP WITH MISCARRIAGE and not only that its fantastic for a range of ailments!! Im currently taking my vitamins and of course the fish oil, I'll give anything a go!!
Avatar m tn Some experts have said that the balance between Omega 6 fatty acids and Omega 3 is key, but just as many say this is nonsense. Omega 3 do have benefits, mainly reducing inflammation in the body, such as in the arteries or joints. It can also reduce your clotting factor if taken in too high doses, causing excessive bleeding. Experts do agree on one thing, take omega 3 acids from foods rather than supplements. Without a doubt, having enough Omega 3 acids in your diet does improve health.
1095404 tn?1333992839 You take it orally it comes in a capsule!! You want the omega 3 fish oil that contains DHA etc... You can get it in 500mg or 1000mgs.
Avatar f tn I bought some prenatal vitamins and they came in a pack with DHA vitamins. Does anyone know what they are or if they are ok to take??
Avatar f tn The DHA supplements r believed 2 help brain development, but they are NOT proven 2 help anything. That's what my doctor told me. I wouldn't worry so much...DHA in prenatals is a relatively new thing...take our moms 4 instance, they didn't take DHA and we're obviously fine!!
668044 tn?1225913014 I take One A Day Prenatal with DHA/EPA. The box (for $13) comes with one bottle of 30 prenatals and a bottle of 30 DHA/EPA pills. I have been taking them together through my pregnancy. My OB recommended them if the ones she prescribed didn't work out (they gave me a stomach ache so I went with One A Day). I have heard nothing but good things! I recommend them!
7062279 tn?1388370086 re afraid of the mercury content, but the DHA in capsure form is mercury free, and has a lot of really good benefits for you and baby (if you weren't getting DHA from the pills, or from eating lots of fish, baby would just take the DHA in your body and use that, but you use it too, so you'd be in short supply). It is perfectly safe and even encouraged to help baby grow healthy. I take fish oil capsules on the side, in addition to my prenatal vitamin.
Avatar n tn Because of their relative scarceness in the American diet, many children - perhaps the majority of children today - are deficient in omega-3 fatty acids. Learning specialists now believe omega-3 fatty acid deficiency leads to unique symptoms during childhood, including behavioral problems.
Business woman1 I will plan to see one I know getting older isnt helping and start using DHA in the mean time.
349463 tn?1333571576 i use naturemade with dha. these were my favorite and dha is important for brain development.
Avatar n tn EPA and DHA. The best source for both is fish oil. Aim for 1,000-3,000 mg total DHA and EPA. That's three to nine capsules a day of most brands. Take 1,500 mg of glucosamine sulfate and 1,200 mg of chondroitin a day. Take 500-1,500 mg of MSM per day. Also take Take 400 to 800 mg a day of Sam-e. A product from New Chapter called Zyflamend, contains rosemary, curcumin, and ginger that are anti-inflammatories.
Avatar f tn The fetus’ need for DHA is greatest in the last trimester of the pregnancy as fetal brain cells are being created at a prodigious rate (more than 250,000 nerve cells per minute). If you don’t have adequate supplies of DHA in your body, your fetus’ brain is going to have trouble keeping up with the growing demand for DHA building blocks. Thus, pregnancy is a critical time to take fish oil supplements.
1192727 tn?1282735542 DHA is a omega fatty acid but buy it by itself in pharmacies and NOT as FISH IOL becase fish iol has ETA as well and it may affect the baby. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an omega-3 fatty acid. It is found in cold water fatty fish and fish oil supplements, along with eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Vegetarian sources of DHA come from seaweed.
Avatar f tn Okay so my current prenatal vitamin does not have Dha in it...is it possible for me to take a Dha vitamin in conjunction with my prenatal vitamin?...if so what is a good brand to take?
984847 tn?1253732146 ) Oh and my prenatal also has a DHA (omega) supplement in it.. it thins the blood as well, and has shown great benefits to help get and stay pregnant, and great for your baby to be's brain development! GOOD LUCK!
Avatar n tn Your baby will be fine, I quit as soon as I suspected I was pregnant to my first, the smell was revolting, but during my second pregnancy I had a very hard time quitting and ended up smoking for the first eight weeks. All my children turned out fine - that's not to encourage you to smoke during pregnancy!- just follow your doctors orders and take all the necessary vitamins, folic acid, iron etc and you will be ok. Congratulations on your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Does ur prenatal vitamins have dha? Is it ok to take them tablets with dha? The one i take doesn't have it but im trying to get gummies to substitute but all gummies seem to have dha.
Avatar f tn t eat seafood. They have 240mg of DHA and 360mg of EPA in 2 capsules. My doctor told me to take them, but online I've been finding that the fish oil and other things in the over the counter supplements may be bad during pregnancy. The pharmacist told me to stop taking them and check with my Dr but my Dr told me to take them. Just wondering if anyone else is taking extra Omega 3 Fatty acids, and if so, what kind?
Avatar f tn He did five sessions and the acupuncturist advised him to take some tests to check whether there is any change at all in the results. My husband took the tests about 30mins after his fifth session and his hormone levels went sky high. His FSH shot up to 80, LH went up to 34, Prolactin went down to 324 and Testosterone went down to 1.6. We were really shocked but when we asked our acupuncturist, he told us that we were supposed to wait a little before we took the tests.
Avatar f tn   While cod liver oil is a potent source of EPA/DHA, containing as much as 1000-1200 mg in one tablespoon, it is also a concentrated source of vitamins A and D. Both vitamins A and D are fat-soluble, and become toxic at high dosage levels. Your body needs a small amount of cholesterol to function properly! You want to lower LDL cholesterol and raise HDL cholesterol, starting with your diet. practice portion control for a meal: Use your hand.
