Avatar m tn I have been having chronic problems with post nasal drip and pressure on the bridge of my nose. It's not terribly bothersome, rather annoying. Let me explain what I mean by post nasal drip. I feel like there is constantly mucus stuck in the back of my nose. It isn't really dripping down my throat, rather just sitting in the back of my nose. It feels thick and I often have to snort in order to get it out. It is not discolored, just clear/milky white.
Avatar f tn Hi. Well, have you been sick? You are coughing up what I use a really technical term for, gunk. Have you been ill? A lot of times, having yellow sputum (the real name for it) as you been means the immune system has been working to fight off an infection. Normally it would be white, the yellow color is the indicator of that. But I know I can have that after I've been sick. So, had you had any other symptoms lately? Maybe you have bronchitis? https://www.webmd.
Avatar m tn Its my right nostril that is obstructed by my deviated septum, not sure if its any correlation to my right tonsil being the one with the more accute redness and blister thing or not.
Avatar n tn I went to my GP then an ENT and they could not find anything. I do have tonsil stones that I occasionally scrape out with a spoon or blunt kitchen knife, the ENT thinks I may have injured myself. Would this cause a feeling like this, for a month? I'm worried it could be something sinister but he said he did not find anything suspicious and to stop thinking about it, it would eventually go away. But it is a constant and bothersome sensation (though not painful).

Avatar f tn Im also getting tonsil stones on top of everything else. The Ct also showed calcification from the tonsil stones, on my tonsilar/adenoid beds. Ok yet another update.. on friday night.. I was getting on my bed and turned and cleared my throat, yet again, and mustve tweaked something. Ended up in the ER, yesterday, Sunday They found out I tore a muscle in my hip/buttock area, and its pinching my sciatica..
3240655 tn?1346723677 I've had surgery to straighten a deviated septum(2011). I had the surgery because I complained about the lingering odor. Months later the sweet rotten smell returned. A recent CT scan revealed two normal sized cysts in my upper left sinuses. But I only was recommended Flonase. The ENT persuaded me from surgery to remove the cyst, because he didn't think it would help, in his experience. He also believed, my problems may be because of allergies.
Avatar m tn About a year ago I learned what tonsil stones were after searching the Internet awhile. Both of my tonsils were pretty big. So I went tonsil stone hunting and ended squeezing so many of those suckers out with my fingers. My tonsils immediately reduced in size. My right tonsil ended up shriveling up to almost nothing, and now it seems to have a flap as if I split my tonsil in half getting the stones out. Is that alright? That is my first and less important question.
Avatar n tn So now the problem was the tonsil stones, which are horrible things to have! Having tonsil stones can cause frequent tonsilitis, so im currently waiting to have my tonsils and adnoids removed in October. Now from having severe dust mite allergies, i have chronic sinusitis. My nose drains like a water pipe all day long. Now after all that, i have recently been diagnosed with allergic asthma. The point to all this is, once i got the diagnosis of asthma, it all made sense to me.
Avatar m tn Hi, I just had surgery thursday evening to fix my deviated septum, remove cysts in my sinus cavity, treat my sinus infection, and some rhinoplasty to also increase breathing efficiency. After the surgery, I noticed something tickling the back of my throat and feeling foreign/odd. After inspecting it at home with a flashlight, I can tell that some phlegm or clearish looking substance has attached to my tonsil and is aggravating my throat.
Avatar m tn I'm 19,male, in college, and work as well. Since around the 8th grade I'd had this bad smell coming from my nose and it took a while for me to realize it. Over the years it got worse and worse. Being anywhere closer than 6 feet is hell. People rub their nose, cough, etc.. when they're near me and it f'ing sucks.
Avatar f tn I was told it was due to my deviated septum. I have been on three antibiotics.. I have had head fullness, headaches above my forehead and neck stiffness. Now I have a mass on my left tonsil. I am due to see my ENT on Monday.. Its a hard mass by the back of my throat. It blends in with the rest of my throat. I am worried this could be some kind of cancer :-( I am a smoker.. I have been for 12 years. Not heavy, maybe .5 pack a day.

Avatar f tn Hi, I have a severely deviated septum on the left side and was getting a Covid swab by an overzealous nurse. She poked me all the way up the left side where my septum was deviated, felt resistance and kept going. I felt a sudden bout of pain and she finally retracted the swab. Two days later I wake up with clear salty liquid dripping down my throat. I also have a massive daily headache, eye pressure and sensitivity to light.
Avatar m tn I have a deviated septum. I've been searching on google for a while now and I think my case is one of the most deviated septum ever seen :| And I would like to know if that would be easy to fix it and what would it cost in Canada! And I just uploaded pics on my profile! Thanks!

Avatar m tn i was diagnosed year 2007 with severe deviated septum prior to this i have been experiencing some weird feelings about my health throughout my childhood , teenage and adolescent years. Let me share you my experiences about my health so you could enlighten me if those weird feelings are related to sinusitis/deviated septum as what i am thinking of or you might have experience the same thing.
Avatar f tn Hello, I wanted to know the risksof having a deviated septum fixed. I had this problem for over 10 years and it seems to keep coming back. I had it fix twice before. I am noticing that the cartilage in my nose seems less so I am concerned. I don't want to have to keep getting surgery to correct my deviated septum. Is there any other options (besides nose sprays)?
4556201 tn?1356445652 Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. In Elementary school, I fractured my nose pretty bad. Then in my early teens, I realized I had a 'bump' on the bridge, & a deviated septum. The 'bump' is caused by 2 super sharp bones sticking out. (It's so extreme/sharp that family & friends I let touch it were *all* really shocked by it, & assured me it was*not* normal.
1329703 tn?1275158081 I have a deviated septum that was found when my allergy shots started working but I still couldn't breathe through my nose. I also have mild sinus issues with them clogging and a mild infection (normally my immune system gets it under control within a week or so). I have the surgery in a couple of weeks so I can't comment on the long term affects yet but I'm hopeful it will help!
538090 tn?1213808112 I was diagnosed with a deviated septum and was told by my ENT specialist that i need a surgery ( September 8th, 2008) along with turbinate reduction. I was doing alright until I had a bout of flu four weeks ago and this made my life miserable. Then came along bronchitis which made my breathing through the mouth impossible. I am still having a little wheezing on my left chest and took an x-ray yesterday. I will have an answer within two days to see what the actual diagnosis will be.
Avatar f tn I got in to see the ENT dr a week ahead of schedule. I have chronic sinusitis, scars on both ears from past infections, and "fairly severe deviated septum,". He had trouble getting the scope up my nose, had to go to a smaller one. He put me on a "push" of prednisone, antibiotics, and Nasonex. Also scheduled a CT scan of sinus's in a month to see if infection is gone. Then he said we would decide what to do. My sx were a constant drippy nose, pressure in ears, headaches.
Avatar m tn Can you get a deviated septum if you snort pain pills? Like hydrocodiene, percs, norcos.?
