Avatar f tn Yes. I had the septoplasty in 2005. The deviated septum came back on the same side. I am scheduled for a revision in September 2008. There was no accident that caused it. It just noticed in my 20s. Still trying to get even air flow.

Check with your insurance company to see their policy, then look into the database of doctors covered by your insurance, look up best ones, go to them showing you need a nosejob, and they will contact your insurance company, and hopefully they will cover at least part of it. Good luck!

Avatar f tn Now I have a problem with a deviated septum, but seeking medical help. Thanks for replying..
Avatar f tn m pleased with the results, it looks better now than prior. But, ever since surgery my left nostril is runny, my septum is now deviated and the nostrils are not even. There's also a scar where she cut the nose open. I don't regret doing it but it's important to be prepared that it might not get perfect. Andi don't want to go back in and try to even things out, I've heard that particularly noses are very fragil and repeat surgery can be devastating.
Avatar n tn Over the years I have broken my nose several times from a variety of activities ranging from accidents, street football and martial arts. Naturally this has created issues such as a deviated septum and so forth. I knew the septum was deviated and finally after fracturing it again in december, I started to have the left side of my nose collapse with heavy inhalations. Looking up my nose you could see that the left side was very narrow to begin with while the right side was wide open.

Avatar f tn Hi there - I had revision rhinoplasty on may 4th and it seems like my problems before have worsened. Due to my first rhinoplasty, my septum became deviated to the right and I had a large bump on the left side of my tip making my nose look like an 's'. I thought I was clear that I wanted my nose straightened and the bump reduced - I did not want to wake up with a completely different nose - but now my nose is shorter, thinner and it makes the problem even more noticeable.

Avatar m tn Hi, I just had surgery thursday evening to fix my deviated septum, remove cysts in my sinus cavity, treat my sinus infection, and some rhinoplasty to also increase breathing efficiency. After the surgery, I noticed something tickling the back of my throat and feeling foreign/odd. After inspecting it at home with a flashlight, I can tell that some phlegm or clearish looking substance has attached to my tonsil and is aggravating my throat.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have a severely deviated septum on the left side and was getting a Covid swab by an overzealous nurse. She poked me all the way up the left side where my septum was deviated, felt resistance and kept going. I felt a sudden bout of pain and she finally retracted the swab. Two days later I wake up with clear salty liquid dripping down my throat. I also have a massive daily headache, eye pressure and sensitivity to light.

Avatar f tn Hello, I wanted to know the risksof having a deviated septum fixed. I had this problem for over 10 years and it seems to keep coming back. I had it fix twice before. I am noticing that the cartilage in my nose seems less so I am concerned. I don't want to have to keep getting surgery to correct my deviated septum. Is there any other options (besides nose sprays)?
