Nose bleeds can also occur due to trauma, exposure to warm dry air more common in winter months, rhinitis, infections, vigorous blowing, foreign bodies and
deviated nasal septum. Sometimes it could be due to bleeding disorders or due to medication like Coumadin.
During this episode the patient must be made to sit upright, this reduces blood pressure in the veins of the nose. Further she should be made to bend forward, this will avoid swallowing blood, which can irritate the stomach.
