Avatar f tn The headaches were also on the left side due to pressure from the clogged nostril. He told me I had a deviated septum. I scheduled surgery that day because he said he could fix my problem and make it easier to breathe. Well he did make it easier to breathe out of the clogged side, but he moved the septum too far and now I cannot breathe out of what was my "good" side. My headaches are worse than they were before the surgery.
4556201 tn?1356445652 Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. In Elementary school, I fractured my nose pretty bad. Then in my early teens, I realized I had a 'bump' on the bridge, & a deviated septum. The 'bump' is caused by 2 super sharp bones sticking out. (It's so extreme/sharp that family & friends I let touch it were *all* really shocked by it, & assured me it was*not* normal.

Avatar f tn I got in to see the ENT dr a week ahead of schedule. I have chronic sinusitis, scars on both ears from past infections, and "fairly severe deviated septum,". He had trouble getting the scope up my nose, had to go to a smaller one. He put me on a "push" of prednisone, antibiotics, and Nasonex. Also scheduled a CT scan of sinus's in a month to see if infection is gone. Then he said we would decide what to do. My sx were a constant drippy nose, pressure in ears, headaches.
Avatar f tn Hi, Primary headache such as migraine may be caused by triggers such as food, weather or hormones. However, anatomical issues such as deviated nasal septum may also cause headaches and may need to be managed also to prevent recurrences. It is best that you talk to your doctor about this for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn My husband had deviated septum surgery several years ago to help aleviate his severe headaches which are connected to his sinuses. It didn't help AT ALL. He still suffers terrible headaches and sinus pressure. We paid a lot of money only for him to be in a lot of pain for a few days and he also had a nasal hemmorage afterward which was pretty scary.
Avatar m tn Can a deviated septum that makes you breathe thru the mouth cause gringing of the teeth and cheeks? My ENT doctor want to do the surgery and then see if the grinding stops.. If it doesn't help he wants me to have a sleep apnea test. Shouldn't the test be done before the surgery? Thanks for your help.
Avatar m tn I think that you have been taken for a ride getting wisdom teeth removed to help your headaches as well as surgery on a deviated septum. I also have a deviated septum which my ENT specialist said would not affect the headaches at all and would only give me a slightly better sinus. A lot of times, there is no known cause for daily headaches. Most of the time, the CT scans or MRIs are to rule out more serious conditions, like multiple sclerosis or a stroke.
Avatar n tn I have been getting sinus infections for about 3.5 years now and they're only getting worse. My CT scan was negative for chronic sinusitis but showed a slight deviated septum with a bone spur. The congestion was not in my sinuses but rather in my upper nasal cavity. My nose isn't realIy runny but I get a ton of post nasal drip that makes me feel as though I am drowning. I got allergy testing done and I am not allergic to anything.

Avatar f tn I have deviated septum. I am prone to sinus infections and massive sinus headaches. I wake up and the right side of my nose is plugged up. I was wondering if getting nebulizer would help this? I do not want the surgery because I was told by another doctor who had it done that it is more pain that he bargained for.
1387175 tn?1326400997 I went through that with my father and two trips to the ER. It was horrible. He did have a deviated septum and was taking aspirin. The last visit, the ER doc actually had to do a cauterization. He also used to use a nasal spray daily and that may have aggravated the condition Has your mother seen an ENT doctor? If not, I suggest she do so.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with chronic sinusitus, deviated septum, nasal polyps and a possible mucus pocket. I was wondering if this could cause anxiety, depression, off balance feeling, shakiness, weakness, slow, dumb feeling, dizziness, sore throat, ear aches, swollen neck lymph nodes, headaches, stomach ache, weird taste in my mouth, pain and pressure behind and above eyes and fatigue.
Avatar f tn Hi, the common cause for sinusitis is Deviated nasal septum (DNS). This condition leads to obstruction. This can lead to sinus infection, ear infection and headaches. Other possibilities are laryngeal web, asthma, any structural abnormalities in the nasal passage such as nasal polyps, hypertrophied turbinates etc. You need to undergo detailed examination of nose and radiography of the sinuses to rule out existing sinusitis.
Avatar n tn The septoplasty or rhinoplasty for deviated nasal septum (DNS) will help you to relieve your symptoms. I suggest you to consult ENT surgeon for further management. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have a severely deviated septum on the left side and was getting a Covid swab by an overzealous nurse. She poked me all the way up the left side where my septum was deviated, felt resistance and kept going. I felt a sudden bout of pain and she finally retracted the swab. Two days later I wake up with clear salty liquid dripping down my throat. I also have a massive daily headache, eye pressure and sensitivity to light.

538090 tn?1213808112 I was diagnosed with a deviated septum and was told by my ENT specialist that i need a surgery ( September 8th, 2008) along with turbinate reduction. I was doing alright until I had a bout of flu four weeks ago and this made my life miserable. Then came along bronchitis which made my breathing through the mouth impossible. I am still having a little wheezing on my left chest and took an x-ray yesterday. I will have an answer within two days to see what the actual diagnosis will be.
Avatar n tn Do you use nasal sprays other then saline? Do you have a deviated septum? Have you had any blood work done and your clotting factor checked? I think I would check these things out. Good luck.
Avatar f tn After several different doctors, I was told that I had trigeminal neuralgia as well as a deviated septum. I eventually had laser surgery for the trigeminal neuralgia, but the a facial pain continues. The nerve pain has subsided, but I continue to have facial pain on my left side. The pain seems to get worse if I lean my head to that side. This occurred a few years ago, and after several months of taking seizure medication and lortab, I was not getting any better.
