Deviated septum from snorting

Common Questions and Answers about Deviated septum from snorting

deviated-septum

even infrequent use of cocaine is very dangerous, but it's not a reason for a deviated septum. erosions from the vasoconstriction would not lead to deviation, it leads to a hole.
I have been snorting subutex for years and then had surgery to fix all damage it did had cyst behind eye and deviated septum and infection threw out sinuses and polups was worst and most painful thing ever but i stopped snorting but I'm now 2months out from surgery and my left side i can not breath out of still and feels like there is a flap or something in there when i try to suck air threw that side it accually makes my whole nose flap and make a noise is there something in there or just swol
Many people have successfully done it and many have relapsed it's all in your desire to quit. The physical problems from snorting are horrible. Deviated septum, awful nose bleeds for no reason and whatever else. Stop now before you screw yourself for life. N/a meetings are everywhere, but rehab and or detox are strongly suggested. Don't puss out just freaking do it.
will said cartlidge grow back if i go easy on my nose from now on? (I thought it took more use to damage one's septum...) will my nose heal and correct itself in time, or is it destined to become more and more crooked? are surgeries for fixing these problems sometimes covered by one's insurance, or are they generally very costly procedure? Let's say I am full of regret, I want to fix the problem and leave this part of my life behind.
In general, (please only docs or people with personal experience), how long in terms of months or years or days or whatever and the avg grams of coke does it take to create a deviated septum? Will 5 months of 35 grams do it? That seems like a short period but I guess alot fo coke. Will it heal if stopped completely. Does the saline spray really help it to heal and is there really a sreay Neosporin in the US? Only heard of oinment? Will these and/or anything correct that issue.
The doctor kinda acted like a ***** and said the damage isn't done from someone hitting you, when in actuallity my bone is messed up from getting hit and my septum is deviated.

I've been snorting pills for 6 years now daily and i have a deviated septum from it and now i think i have a hole in my throat or a hole in my tonsils. so yes your health is at risk the pills can burn holes in any part of your body it touches including our ears i have problems with my ears too . so go seek help from an ent. even tho thats where im having problems they dont want to help me until i quit but i cant quit until they do smehting about the massive amount of pain im in.
You are right to be concerned, but what you describe doesnt sound so serious as to have done your septum damage already....and it should bounce back from this one. But you dont get many chances with that stuff. Count yourself lucky and take care of yourself..
If you are having to put water in your nose to help the coke go down then is sounds like you are making a nice hole in your nose. When i deviated my septum from cocaine i would have to pour water in also to get those drips. When the cocaine sits in your nasal passage and won't go down it will eat away at your nose so much faster and putting water in there to help is playing with fire if you are using a lot of coke.
After that, I was unable to breathe through my nose. I went to an ear, nose, and throat doctor, and he told me that I had a deviated septum. He performed surgery on my nose with a laser to clear the blockage caused by the deviated septum. After I healed from the surgery, I could breathe slightly better, but I still suffered from blockage caused by swollen turbinates.
congradulations, on getting clean the only suggestion i have it that you may have a deviated septum, or just a really irrated nose my husband snorting coke during the 80s, i am a junkie so snorting wasnt my bag but i have seen coke heads completly flatten their noses, by pressing down with their hands, their septum was gone and my husband has shared storied about nose problems as a result of cocaine, his nose i fine now, try to stay calm, you are clean now, and hopefully going to na meeting to k
Hey I'm not sure what subs are buy i do have a cousin on mothers side who snorted so much cocaine it caused him to have i believe it was a deviated septum , i think all i remember was he WA in a lot of pain and hadno ewa of explaining the cause of damage to his parents , he did stop however and seems to be doing well now , im really sorry about your pain a nd
I used to think it was a deviated septum but its gotta be from the coke...I have been using on and off for about 5 years...not everyday...at first it was once a month, maybe once every two months...then started being every weekend on a saturday...then we would stop for a while(months) and all of a sudden do it again...I don't know what it is with that drug...Its the only thing I do...I don't smoke, very rarely take a pill...
Snorting pills is terrible for your nose and can do major damage. I got a deviated septum after a few years of snorting cocaine and oxys. It was the same for me..it didnt hurt when I was using but after stopping for a few days it was like a dry burning feeling almost like it was scabbing up. Ive known people who has even holes right through there septum and ended up having major surgery just to breathe again. It is best to stop this and never do it again.
For the past 8 months I have been suffering from constant snorting of mucus. This condition has dramatically affected my life, I dread sleep, I miss a lot of school, and I'm just not who I use to be anymore. I'm currently taking allergy shots and allergy medication (Zyrtec) (Nasonex). I occasionally use a neti pot. I'm beginning to doubt that allergies are the source of this problem. Is there anything else I should be doing?
Have yourself assessed to see for other reasons for the blockade like a polyp or a deviated septum. You will need to consult your primary care physician for proper assessment. In the meantime practice good breathing exercises, humidify your room and do steam inhalations. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
You could also have a deviated septum that could be causing problems too. Hope you find some relief out there.
stop now before you get a deviated septum, or worse yet a heart attack. i have a deviated septum from using coke and you don't want this to happen, it's very very very messy. hope you keep posting and work on getting clean. good luck to you.
ok, here goes again first, someone had to bleed on the straw, then you had to snort their blood in and have an open sore in your nasal passages. if you only did it a handful, chances are you had no deviated septum or nose bleeds. On top of this you had exposure a handful of times, to a few people. I'd be more concerned about what you may have caught after getting all hyped up personally. it's obviously got you worryied so get tested, and test for STDs while you are at it.
That happens to alot of people that do coke...i would sneeze for no reason, and we found out that some people add small amounts of fiberglass to coke because they think it gets in the blood faster from the tiny cuts....not saying that happened to you though.
In the end it's counter productive though. It's damaging your nose and the bio availability from snorting is actually poor, compared to oral. You wouldn't feel so ashamed however if you knew how many millions of ordinary, everyday people do it. I live in a small town and have lived here half my life. Know pretty much everyone. started going to meetings last week. When I saw who showed up I was like..... nooooo.....her? Him? Addiction is nothing to be ashamed about.
I had repair for a deviated septum from a broken nose over a year ago. I have lost my sense of smell, still have crusting in my right nostril. I also feel like at times i cant get enough oxygen at night and wake up gasping for air. I still have pain and am always runny or stuffy. New problem is my right ear always feels like it is full of fluid. my ent doesnt seemed concerned, says the surgery was sucessful but i feel like i am worse off now. anyone else having these problems still?
gizzy32. I dont think we have ever talked but i just want you to know i am so proud of what you have chosen to do.you and only you knw what is right for you and you are taking the steps to live a drug free life.
which never used to happen: as if my throat muscles or tonsils were getting lazier. Background/history: constant allergic (?) sinusitis/drainage/stuffiness for most of my adult life. Septoplasty in 2000: for a deviated septum. Since then, the drainage has increased and now includes occasional hard/solid strings of mucus which never occurred before the operation. I have always snored: I don't know if it is worse recently.
The one where, if I had paid attention to what I already really knew it was months ago, and would have taken the time to look up there and face reality for once, would have shown me what I already knew was happening. A hole going from one side of my septum to the next. The light shining through. Maybe had I caught it earlier it would have had a chance to heal up so much better and I would have come to the realization that I had to quit already and enough was enough. But I didn't.
Also i do admit i was snorting oxycontin up my left nostril because my right has a deviated septum from meth use in my high school days. (28 now) I discontinued snorting oxycontin but things have not cleared up an its been over 2 months now. I have to turn the volume up super load just to hear the tv an i get this "Wawing" sound in them when it decides to act up. My question is, could this all be gallbladder related???
