Avatar f tn Hello: I am a 26 year old female that has had ear and allergy problems pretty much all of my life. I have been to an ENT a couple times, but nothing has really ever come of the visits. Right now, I am not insured so I am unable to visit on at this time. My main concern right now is my ears. Every single day, from morning till night, they always feel sort of full.
Avatar n tn I have a deviated septum and feeling of a constantly blocked nose, and my head pressure is absuloutely constant and diffuse frontal / forehead region.
Avatar f tn ve always had blockage of the left side of my nose, it seems like, and had surgery for a deviated septum many years ago. It seems like it just clogged back up again over the years. I'm told it will be $600 to be seen by an ENT doctor, and I have no insurance and cannot afford it. I don't know what to do. I just want the ringing to stop. Can anyone please help me??? I want to know if the tinnitus is caused by all this, whatever it is. Thanks!
Avatar n tn And inflammation in the nose and sinuses can cause inflammation around the Eustachian tube, which is the tube that runs from the back of the nose to the middle ear and is responsible for draining the middle ear of fluid. If there is Eustachian tube dysfunction from nose or sinus inflammation, fluid can remain in the middle ear which can lead to dizziness. The best diagnosis for this problem is a CT of the sinuses. Surgery is recommended to patients that fail maximal medical treatment.
270554 tn?1289511647 If all the drains are staying in your face then u probably have a blocked eustachian tube also. u need to clear that tube up for the drainage to go thru. it can cause hearing loss too. your blocked nose and blocked ears caused you that severe pain. mucus can go down ur eustachian tube also and if it's blocked (maybe by hard wax) then you'll experience the pain in your ear and sinuses. one time, i had to massage those sinuses really hard bec. i was in pain.....
Avatar n tn Can one experience "late-phase" allergy symptoms like malaise, fatigue, headaches, Eustachian tube dysfunction etc. without EVER experiencing "early-phase" symptoms like runny nose, itchy eyes etc. ? I do occasionally have a scratchy throat, but this is very seldom. I have been experiencing these "late-phase" symptoms for several months now, and was recently diagnosed (via skin ***** test) with allergic rhinitis to dust mites and pollen.

Avatar n tn If it is blocked Eustachian tube, then doing a valsalva maneuver (Done by taking a deep breath and blowing while pinching your nostrils and closing your mouth) will help. This will help clear the secretions in the tube that connects the back of your throat with your ear. Chronic sinusitis is often allergic and can be due to mold infection too. A damp wall in the house, carpets, and ACs are all potential sources of mold. Please consult an allergy specialist.
Avatar m tn I'm 41 - been dealing with my Right ear feeling 'clogged' now for over 3 years. I have had tubes put in (2 years ago) for 2 weeks...did nothing. The ENT looks, and says my ear is "clear" - Says could be eustacian tube disorder, etc. Finally, after bouts with Bronchitus and sinus issues over Nov and Dec, went back to my Primary - he referred me to another ENT.
Avatar n tn It is mostly on my left side, but a little on the right also. I also have been told that I have a moderately deviated septum. I have tried steroid sprays, decongestants, Prednisone, antihistimines, diet changes, and sinus rinses. First I was treated by inner ear specialists with various treatments for quite some time only to be told later that I probably don't have an inner ear problem. I even had a TMJ surgery and other treatments for TMJ to unplug my ears and reduce pain.
Avatar f tn Hi, inflammation in the nose and sinuses can cause inflammation around the Eustachian tube, which is the tube that runs from the back of the nose to the middle ear and is responsible for draining the middle ear of fluid. If there is Eustachian tube dysfunction from nose or sinus inflammation, fluid can remain in the middle ear which can lead to dizziness and problems of balancing air pressure during air travel. The best way to get to the bottom of your sinus issues is to see an ENT.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have a severely deviated septum on the left side and was getting a Covid swab by an overzealous nurse. She poked me all the way up the left side where my septum was deviated, felt resistance and kept going. I felt a sudden bout of pain and she finally retracted the swab. Two days later I wake up with clear salty liquid dripping down my throat. I also have a massive daily headache, eye pressure and sensitivity to light.
Avatar m tn I have a deviated septum. I've been searching on google for a while now and I think my case is one of the most deviated septum ever seen :| And I would like to know if that would be easy to fix it and what would it cost in Canada! And I just uploaded pics on my profile! Thanks!
Avatar f tn Deviated septum cause low oxygen in the body and it may leads to digits clubbing due to low oxygen in the body are this both related deviated septum and low oxygen
Avatar m tn i was diagnosed year 2007 with severe deviated septum prior to this i have been experiencing some weird feelings about my health throughout my childhood , teenage and adolescent years. Let me share you my experiences about my health so you could enlighten me if those weird feelings are related to sinusitis/deviated septum as what i am thinking of or you might have experience the same thing.
Avatar f tn Hello, I wanted to know the risksof having a deviated septum fixed. I had this problem for over 10 years and it seems to keep coming back. I had it fix twice before. I am noticing that the cartilage in my nose seems less so I am concerned. I don't want to have to keep getting surgery to correct my deviated septum. Is there any other options (besides nose sprays)?
Avatar n tn Hi All, I have been suffering headaches, scratchy throat, malaise, vertigo and eustachian tube dysfunction for the past 4 months, ever since getting over a bout of Otitis Media. After several rounds of antibiotics and 8 weeks on Veramyst, my symptoms haven't improved. I finally went to an allergist yesterday, and had a postive skin-test for dust mite.
4556201 tn?1356445652 Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. In Elementary school, I fractured my nose pretty bad. Then in my early teens, I realized I had a 'bump' on the bridge, & a deviated septum. The 'bump' is caused by 2 super sharp bones sticking out. (It's so extreme/sharp that family & friends I let touch it were *all* really shocked by it, & assured me it was*not* normal.
1329703 tn?1275158081 I have a deviated septum that was found when my allergy shots started working but I still couldn't breathe through my nose. I also have mild sinus issues with them clogging and a mild infection (normally my immune system gets it under control within a week or so). I have the surgery in a couple of weeks so I can't comment on the long term affects yet but I'm hopeful it will help!
538090 tn?1213808112 I was diagnosed with a deviated septum and was told by my ENT specialist that i need a surgery ( September 8th, 2008) along with turbinate reduction. I was doing alright until I had a bout of flu four weeks ago and this made my life miserable. Then came along bronchitis which made my breathing through the mouth impossible. I am still having a little wheezing on my left chest and took an x-ray yesterday. I will have an answer within two days to see what the actual diagnosis will be.
Avatar f tn I got in to see the ENT dr a week ahead of schedule. I have chronic sinusitis, scars on both ears from past infections, and "fairly severe deviated septum,". He had trouble getting the scope up my nose, had to go to a smaller one. He put me on a "push" of prednisone, antibiotics, and Nasonex. Also scheduled a CT scan of sinus's in a month to see if infection is gone. Then he said we would decide what to do. My sx were a constant drippy nose, pressure in ears, headaches.
Avatar m tn Can you get a deviated septum if you snort pain pills? Like hydrocodiene, percs, norcos.?
Avatar m tn I have been having chronic problems with post nasal drip and pressure on the bridge of my nose. It's not terribly bothersome, rather annoying. Let me explain what I mean by post nasal drip. I feel like there is constantly mucus stuck in the back of my nose. It isn't really dripping down my throat, rather just sitting in the back of my nose. It feels thick and I often have to snort in order to get it out. It is not discolored, just clear/milky white.
