Avatar f tn Has anyone else experienced hearing loss or impairment with problems associated with deviated septums or nasal spurs? I have a deviated septum that has been giving me a lot of nasal blockage feelings and breathing difficulty. My hearing has also gotten worse..which coincidentally has been a genetic thing in my family.....so is the deviated septum..... I have problems with fluid in my ears as well as what they say is neural hearing loss based on my hearing tests..
Avatar n tn I have seen doctor after doctor and still have no diagnosis. I have been suffering from ear pain, ear pressure, sinus pressure around my eyes and nose, feel like I am in a daze, cannot wear contacts, puffy eyes, eyes sometimes feel bulgy, and bumps under my top eyelids. My family doctor kept telling me it was allergies and I was on a ton of medications. The medications made me sick, and I wanted to make sure it was allergies, so I went to an allergist.
Avatar m tn Hi, its unlikely that a deviated septum can cause dizziness. Deviated septum can cause problems with breathing, as it causes nasal blockage. Your symptoms of dizziness and lightheadedness, if are relieved by eating something, indicate that you might be having episodes of hypoglycemia. Inadequate sleep can also cause tiredness, fatigue and dizziness. Other causes for these symptoms are inner ear infections; brain disorders heart problems, fever, stress, low blood pressure and anxiety.
Avatar m tn It sounds like you have a deviated septum, which is more a bony problem than cartilage problem. Deviated septum can cause ear problems. You could try putting a solution of witch hazel and tea tree oil into the ear with an eye dropper for relief. It will clean out the ear.
Avatar f tn Might want to get an opinion from a ear, nose and throat doctor to see if breaking your nose has damaged your nose. It might have changed the deviated septum to a point that something should be done to fix it. Anything that is very painful and doesn't improve greatly within 24 hours should be seen by a doctor.
1452978 tn?1285110262 Has anyone had the sinus surgery and it helped the dizziness, off balance, and lightheaded feeling. I am have a deviated septum that is being correct. Avatar f tn I have heard of a perforated septum and deviated septum- Can these things lead to a feeling of your eye starting to sink in (it totally is not noticable to look at) its just a slight feeling. What is that all about? AND from there can it cause more damage to your ear drums? Like having a popping or clicking sound when blowing by nose. I would appreciate any advise- insurance issues, surgerys, natural healing, but please dont say to me to stop doing cocaine.
Avatar m tn Hi, welcome to the forum, the important causes needed to be ruled out are Deviated nasal septum (DNS) and allergic rhinitis. These conditions can lead to sinus infection, ear infection and headaches. Other possibilities are laryngeal web, asthma, any structural abnormalities in the nasal passage such as nasal polyps, hypertrophied turbinates etc. Recurrent infection is sign of low immunity. You need to increase immunity by proper nutritious food, regular exercise, mental fitness etc.

Avatar f tn I went to an EET and had sinus surgery done a few years ago to open up for drainage and to repair a deviated septum. However, since then the pressure and lightheadedness is getting worse and adding to the equation I've got fullness in my ears. Sometimes at night it's all I can do to stand it; the pressure is so bad. I've been to the doctor complaining several times and he says it's "Indiana sinuses". I just don't know where to turn or what to do.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have a severely deviated septum on the left side and was getting a Covid swab by an overzealous nurse. She poked me all the way up the left side where my septum was deviated, felt resistance and kept going. I felt a sudden bout of pain and she finally retracted the swab. Two days later I wake up with clear salty liquid dripping down my throat. I also have a massive daily headache, eye pressure and sensitivity to light.
4556201 tn?1356445652 Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. In Elementary school, I fractured my nose pretty bad. Then in my early teens, I realized I had a 'bump' on the bridge, & a deviated septum. The 'bump' is caused by 2 super sharp bones sticking out. (It's so extreme/sharp that family & friends I let touch it were *all* really shocked by it, & assured me it was*not* normal.
209987 tn?1451935465 I've been having pain behind my left ear for several months now. It's just behind and below ( where your glands are I guess ) the ear. There isn't much swelling, but the pain is driving me bonkers. It's very sensitive to the touch as well. Almost feels like when I had mumps...but not quite as bad ( from what I remember ). The pain is worse in that area, but spreads to the whole outer and inner ear, as well as up towards the temple area. There is no discharge, and no hearing loss.
Avatar f tn Hi, the common cause for sinusitis is Deviated nasal septum (DNS). This condition leads to obstruction. This can lead to sinus infection, ear infection and headaches. The septoplasty or rhinoplasty for deviated nasal septum (DNS) will help you to relieve your symptoms. If sinusitis cannot be managed with medication; surgical drainage would be definitive therapy. I suggest you to consult ENT surgeon for further management. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn This has caused me to see my GP and which he referred to a ENT. The ENT doc said I have a severe deviated septum. He said there would need to have surgery for this which I said Ok hopefully thats the issue but I have been experiencing headaches in the back of my head and upper neck while sometimes they show up at the top of my head. The headaches arent severe to the point where I am in pain but I do feel them. I am fearing the worst that it could be cancer or a tumor.

Avatar m tn Can you get a deviated septum if you snort pain pills? Like hydrocodiene, percs, norcos.?
Avatar f tn Hi, a deviated nasal septum can cause an obstruction to breathing and correction will ensure that your symptoms will improve. But this may not help correct the post nasal drip. Post nasal drip could be due to a sinus infection, a cold or a chronic allergy. These can lead to a post nasal drip and lead to an irritation in the throat. It could be sinusitis, if it is accompanied by nasal stuffiness and facial pain or pressure. Post nasal drip could also be due to allergens.
