Avatar n tn Hello- I’m a 41 year old male, 6ft-2in tall and 180 lbs in overall good health, other than almost daily headaches and brain fog, with migraine headaches every 2 to 4 weeks that last between 12 hours and 4 days. The last 6 months the brain fog seems to be getting worse, making it hard to focus and concentrate at work. I work as an engineer in an office environment and spend a lot of time staring at a computer screen.
Avatar m tn I think that you have been taken for a ride getting wisdom teeth removed to help your headaches as well as surgery on a deviated septum. I also have a deviated septum which my ENT specialist said would not affect the headaches at all and would only give me a slightly better sinus. A lot of times, there is no known cause for daily headaches. Most of the time, the CT scans or MRIs are to rule out more serious conditions, like multiple sclerosis or a stroke.
Avatar f tn This can be due to an acute infection, nasal polyps, anatomical deformities, such as a deviated septum. Sometimes, migraine and cluster headaches are misdiagnosed as sinus in origin. This type of headache can be treated with antibiotics or decongestants. However, to have more accurate diagnosis, direct clinical examination is important. Check with your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and best regards.
Avatar f tn m going to make this as brief as possible. I went to a doctor complaining about headaches and not being able to breathe on the left side of my nose. The headaches were also on the left side due to pressure from the clogged nostril. He told me I had a deviated septum. I scheduled surgery that day because he said he could fix my problem and make it easier to breathe.
4556201 tn?1356445652 Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. In Elementary school, I fractured my nose pretty bad. Then in my early teens, I realized I had a 'bump' on the bridge, & a deviated septum. The 'bump' is caused by 2 super sharp bones sticking out. (It's so extreme/sharp that family & friends I let touch it were *all* really shocked by it, & assured me it was*not* normal.
Avatar n tn The doctor said it is a type of headache that is related to a deviated septum, but my septum has been corrected by surgery. He mentioned a type of surgery for a nerve that runs from my nose to the side of my head.
Avatar m tn I got whacked in the nose with an elbow playing basketball about 20 years ago. It bled like you wouldn't believe and since then I've had sort of a "Roman nose" effect on the bridge of my nose. This was when I was living in southern California where I grew up. I moved to the Seattle area 10 years ago and about a year after I got here I came down with what turned out to be a BAD sinus infection. It lasted about 6 months, chronic coughing, pressure in my face, etc.
Avatar n tn Hello, My question is I saw a Doc in dec 06 he said I allergies went on Zyrtec D came back a year later he said I still seemed bad sent me to a ENT which in return said I had a Deviated septum and allergies that I could get the septum fixed if I wanted to. Still not felling better I went to see one of the Top allergy docs here in Chicago he said I have Neirogenic Rhinitis Syndrome. I kinda know what it is but I cant find anything else on it. Were can I look? I have googled it to no end.
1452978 tn?1285110262 Has anyone had the sinus surgery and it helped the dizziness, off balance, and lightheaded feeling. I am have a deviated septum that is being correct. I am nervous I have never had surgery before but I am praying this takes care of the issues. Could someone please share their experiences with me, my surgery is Thursday. Thanks so much!
Avatar m tn I've been diagnost with a deviated septum and excercised induced astma and was wondering if any one had septum fixed? Would it help with sinus infections and breathing for asthma? Any deviated septum repair stories out there?
Avatar f tn t been sick in years actually. Can it be due to a deviated septum and polyps and blockage in the nose? because I was recently diagnosed with that. There also was a point when I've been having pressure/migraine headaches but that seemed to have went away. I am just worried about this. Would an ultrasound pick up cancer if it was abnormal?
Avatar f tn I got in to see the ENT dr a week ahead of schedule. I have chronic sinusitis, scars on both ears from past infections, and "fairly severe deviated septum,". He had trouble getting the scope up my nose, had to go to a smaller one. He put me on a "push" of prednisone, antibiotics, and Nasonex. Also scheduled a CT scan of sinus's in a month to see if infection is gone. Then he said we would decide what to do. My sx were a constant drippy nose, pressure in ears, headaches.
Avatar f tn My husband had deviated septum surgery several years ago to help aleviate his severe headaches which are connected to his sinuses. It didn't help AT ALL. He still suffers terrible headaches and sinus pressure. We paid a lot of money only for him to be in a lot of pain for a few days and he also had a nasal hemmorage afterward which was pretty scary.
Avatar m tn Hello, thanks for taking my question. I'm sure as a doctor your time is quite limited, but is there any way you could take a peek at the webpage I made with my MRI images? (The coronal slices begain about halfway down the page): http://robsaysrelax.googlepages.
Avatar f tn oh yes, and tylenol and migraine pills, and also other over the counter meds do not work. i have also tried tylenol with codeine and this does not seem to help either.
Avatar n tn It started with a broken nose, so my septum (spelling) is deviated and it tends to cause congestion and headaches. Ibuprofen actually works the best for me because it brings the swelling down in my nose and sinuses.
Avatar f tn I have been told to wear glasses to avoid eyestrain , otherwise i do not have a vision problem. I have a case of a deviated septum , but have been told by my ENT doc that a surgery would not help my condition. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn at first i thought it was just my sinuses b/c i had my sinuses checked in october 2010 and they found polyps and a deviated septum so they did surgery in nov 2010 but i still feel the same as i did prior to surgery. so im going to go to the doctor soon to rule out anything else but im learning it could also be migraine headaches too, just another level of them. like the aura before the migraine.
Avatar n tn Prior to that he had respiratory problems, difficulty sleeping, stuffy nose, headaches and pressure behind his forehead. Since the surgery, breathing is okay but the pressure, the stuffiness, etc have got worse. The surgery supposedly went well. What could possibly be causing this?
1712590 tn?1352392772 This is swollen and soar. Also have been getting migraine headaches that are soar to touch on right side crest of my head front to back. I have a deviated septum, and on right side of nose is a deformed bone. My optometrist says it's not from my Graves Disease. I also have been found to have MRSA in my nares. What can I do for migraines?
Avatar m tn d recommend the septoplasty, as a deviated septum can cause drainage problems as well as breathing problems, and a sinus flush would get more risky as you get older. However, based on the many stories I've seen here, including worst-case scenarios like irishghost, I would resist anybody messing with my turbinates.
Avatar f tn Everyone here has deviated septum and had sudden profound hearing loss? Yes?
Avatar n tn I have been getting sinus infections for about 3.5 years now and they're only getting worse. My CT scan was negative for chronic sinusitis but showed a slight deviated septum with a bone spur. The congestion was not in my sinuses but rather in my upper nasal cavity. My nose isn't realIy runny but I get a ton of post nasal drip that makes me feel as though I am drowning. I got allergy testing done and I am not allergic to anything.
Avatar f tn I can certainly feel for you! I have been on the same boat as you for over 20 years. Every time I ask a doctor to send me into an allergist it's always the same thing: " You're over 20...your allergies can change every two years...by the time we are able to get you in to see one, your allergies will have changed." UGH!! I've had the exact same symptoms for over 30 years now! You could ask to see an ENT...at least they might be able to help with the nose symptoms.
Avatar f tn I have deviated septum. I am prone to sinus infections and massive sinus headaches. I wake up and the right side of my nose is plugged up. I was wondering if getting nebulizer would help this? I do not want the surgery because I was told by another doctor who had it done that it is more pain that he bargained for.
Avatar n tn Having that said you do have sinus disease in one sinus cavity, but not a massive amount. You had stated you have a deviated septum and those are things to just ignore and wish it away. With the Sinuse Surgery the doctor would be able to correct this problem along with a good clean out of all sinus cavities. I believe you would a great amount of releif after a sinus surgery. I know I was amazed at how well I could breath and that I didn't have chronic sinus pain all day.
