Deviated septum and crooked nose

Common Questions and Answers about Deviated septum and crooked nose

deviated-septum

Avatar m tn i began to worry about my health i started researching about my problem in the internet and found out that i have deviated septum. but still not 100% sure about it so i also consulted an ENT. it took me almost half of my life to determine the problem in my nose that had altered my life. I had my deviated septum fix but didnt fix it 100% as they informed me that it may take 2 operation to entirely fix it as it was completely deviated to the left and its all crooked up to the back of my nose.
Avatar f tn is it because my deviated septum is visibly crooked there? (you can see my septum on the inside of my left nostril) and the hole to breathe in is smaller? or is it the allergies/small sinus infection? or could it even be really bad Anxiety making me feel this way? Any response is greatly appreciated. Or if somebody else has had this as well that would be great.
Avatar m tn m not allergic to anything. I also wanted to ask if I have a deviated septum or not, the septum of my nose feels curved to the left and my left nostril has trouble breathing in and out, not to mention the stuffy nose makes it even harder. My nose is not crooked though, just the inside feels curved. What can be done about this as well?
Avatar m tn I got accidentally hit on the nose a few weeks ago and had pain, but it went away. I just now noticed there is a big red squishy bubble inside the back of my right nostril where I got hit. It doesn't hurt anymore but it's blocking my airway and I'm getting pretty worried about the big red thing back there..
Avatar m tn i saw 2 ents already and i knew about it when i had my mri and my nose it very crooked so you could tell right off that bat
Avatar m tn Ok so I got a CT scan done and the otorhinolaryngologist head doctor found a very big cyst in one of my sinus cavities, and commented on my deviated septum and how it is very crooked (genetic) also the cartilage is structurally messed up and both nostrils have a lot of blockage...my nose basically ***** at doing its job. They're going to have surgery to fix it so that I can breathe properly through my nose.
Avatar m tn I get like this from time to time. After many scans found out I do have a slight bone spur and deviated nasal septum-means its crooked- but, alas it does not STAY blocked up because I alternate out of each side blowing junk out of it and my ENT actually said if it were 100% blocked I'd never breath out of the side thats blocked not blow a bunch of stuff out and then (temporarily) feel better. Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn This also alternates sides. I have noticed that my nose is slightly crooked and this was confirmed when an ENT told me that I have a deviated septum on the right side, but he just told me to use an antihistamine nasal spray and an allergy pill: Clarasil D. These medicines have had little effect. I also hear noises in my ears when I swallow. I hear a click/snap kind of noise, sometimes only in one ear and sometimes in both, when I swallow. I also hear this noise when I yawn.
Avatar f tn Ask for someone whose d/o/c/ was Coke I am sure someone will help you.Their is a reformed coke addict on here. Don 't do anymore coke. Is that what u wanted 2 hear? Well you heard it from me. If you keep this up.... what will come of u next??? Perhaps a visit to an ear, nose and throat specialist is in order to make sure you do not have permanent damage. Prayers 2 both of you.
Avatar m tn I have been having chronic problems with post nasal drip and pressure on the bridge of my nose. It's not terribly bothersome, rather annoying. Let me explain what I mean by post nasal drip. I feel like there is constantly mucus stuck in the back of my nose. It isn't really dripping down my throat, rather just sitting in the back of my nose. It feels thick and I often have to snort in order to get it out. It is not discolored, just clear/milky white.
Avatar m tn For temporary relief, since your septum is deviated to the left, you can lie in bed on your right side and if you notice after 5 min your septum will fall towards the right giving you more breathing room on the left. The question on whether or not you will need to go through the operation would be best suited for your doctor to advise you on.
Avatar f tn Might want to get an opinion from a ear, nose and throat doctor to see if breaking your nose has damaged your nose. It might have changed the deviated septum to a point that something should be done to fix it. Anything that is very painful and doesn't improve greatly within 24 hours should be seen by a doctor.
Avatar m tn I have a deviated septum. I've been searching on google for a while now and I think my case is one of the most deviated septum ever seen :| And I would like to know if that would be easy to fix it and what would it cost in Canada! And I just uploaded pics on my profile! Thanks!
1329703 tn?1275158081 I have a deviated septum that was found when my allergy shots started working but I still couldn't breathe through my nose. I also have mild sinus issues with them clogging and a mild infection (normally my immune system gets it under control within a week or so). I have the surgery in a couple of weeks so I can't comment on the long term affects yet but I'm hopeful it will help!
Avatar n tn i also have a deviated septum and when it finally blew, it was the most disgusting thing i have seen. i recently quit coke, and my nose was bleeding and in pain for over a month and i kept getting those huge chunks, blah. now my nose is so much better and not in pain at all, but that hole will always be there. i think it's time you quit and got some help as with this damage to your nose, i bet your not getting very high off it anymore.
Avatar f tn I got in to see the ENT dr a week ahead of schedule. I have chronic sinusitis, scars on both ears from past infections, and "fairly severe deviated septum,". He had trouble getting the scope up my nose, had to go to a smaller one. He put me on a "push" of prednisone, antibiotics, and Nasonex. Also scheduled a CT scan of sinus's in a month to see if infection is gone. Then he said we would decide what to do. My sx were a constant drippy nose, pressure in ears, headaches.
Avatar f tn when I went to Ent specialist my test results came normal for hearing....but doctor said I have heavy nasal septum deviation in left nose and also tonsils..he said due to septum deviation, tinnitus may occur....but never heard that nasal septum deviation can cause tinnitus....but important thing is..my left side nose is deviated,,my voice is hitting left ear,, and ringing in ear is also left only.
Avatar m tn I have noticed that the sit of my nose where my deviated septum had been seems to still be significantly inflamed and that the generalized area around where the maxillary sinus would be hurts as well. Perhaps the most annoying, is the fact that my upper left molars kill. is this likely just residual inflammation from the surgery itself? i do know there was a good amount of infection in the left maxillary prior to my surgery, so wondering if this is just aggravated by the surgery.
Avatar f tn t want to have to keep getting surgery to correct my deviated septum. Is there any other options (besides nose sprays)?
Avatar n tn 12 years ago I had 12 benign nasal polyps removed and major work done on the right side of my sinuses and a corrected deviated septum. The septum became very crooked due to all the polyps. Since that time, I often experience pressure on the right side of face and head when I bend over. I also get weird headaches on the top right side of head that worsen when pressed upon.
Avatar f tn The headaches were also on the left side due to pressure from the clogged nostril. He told me I had a deviated septum. I scheduled surgery that day because he said he could fix my problem and make it easier to breathe. Well he did make it easier to breathe out of the clogged side, but he moved the septum too far and now I cannot breathe out of what was my "good" side. My headaches are worse than they were before the surgery.
538090 tn?1213808112 I was diagnosed with a deviated septum and was told by my ENT specialist that i need a surgery ( September 8th, 2008) along with turbinate reduction. I was doing alright until I had a bout of flu four weeks ago and this made my life miserable. Then came along bronchitis which made my breathing through the mouth impossible. I am still having a little wheezing on my left chest and took an x-ray yesterday. I will have an answer within two days to see what the actual diagnosis will be.
4556201 tn?1356445652 Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. In Elementary school, I fractured my nose pretty bad. Then in my early teens, I realized I had a 'bump' on the bridge, & a deviated septum. The 'bump' is caused by 2 super sharp bones sticking out. (It's so extreme/sharp that family & friends I let touch it were *all* really shocked by it, & assured me it was*not* normal.
Avatar n tn s not extreme but it definitely interferes with my life because I hate my nose and the pain/pressure is a constant reminder of my disproportional nose and it just makes my hatred of it worse, plus the pain is annoying. I'm afraid that my nose is like growing or something and becoming more deformed. I don't know what to do about it... I feel like I'd have an easier time accepting my nose if the pain wasn't there.
Avatar m tn I got whacked in the nose with an elbow playing basketball about 20 years ago. It bled like you wouldn't believe and since then I've had sort of a "Roman nose" effect on the bridge of my nose. This was when I was living in southern California where I grew up. I moved to the Seattle area 10 years ago and about a year after I got here I came down with what turned out to be a BAD sinus infection. It lasted about 6 months, chronic coughing, pressure in my face, etc.
Avatar f tn 20 mg ,been on it over 6 weeks now ,I do a have a nasal deviated septum on the right side and that's the side were the problems have been
Avatar m tn I went to an ENT Doctor and made a test for my ear and there was no problem in my ear then he saw my nose and told me that I need to make a surgery for my nose cartilage to solve the ear clogging problem. I don't know if I understood him right, but he said that the left nostril is closing which causes pressure on my left ear and causing it to get clogged. I am asking here to see if there may be other causes for this problem, and to see if anyone has faced this before? Thanks.
