Wondered if anyone can help. I had a ultrasound scan on my thyroid in November and was told it is inflammed on the right side and has cyst on it. My doctor has been useless and will only ever do tsh blood test.. Last tsh test were 0.34 then 0.70. She says I don't need anymore test but I don't think its right.

Additionally, I have suffered from depression for some length of time. Upon the worsening of my depression, my doc ordered thyroid tests. These are the results:
TSH: 0.82; Free T4: 0.69; T3 Total Serum: 89ng/dl; T3 Free Serum: 2.9 pg/ml.
The internist says those are normal results. The nurse practitioner I see for depression meds says they are low. From what I've read, none of this makes sense, but am starting to wonder about pituitary involvement.

Sorry about the abbreviations and the state side slang , "heal with steel " is a doctor term here for curing cancer by removing the tumor or organ surgically , hence "heal with steel " . "Ddf" is acronym for "drug ,disease, free" it is used on online dating/ hookup sites in where the poster is apparently announcing their free of drug use, and Hiv status to online searchers . - I do many kind of test online and found out that I have a major depression, but I can't contact them because they need phone number... I don't have a phone myself... And if I give my Mom's or Dad's number to those website, when they find out, my Dad is going to literally kill me for being "too weak"...

The test was done by them. I know that I seem excessive but I read an article online (university of Virginia) about hep c delaying the window period for hiv. It also said that testing could take up to a year. This really made me panic. I know everyone says no risk but I got hep c by this.
She should wait for the thyroid test results. Thyroid being out is common cause of depression and treatment is thyroid meds NOT antideppressants.

The headaches, lack of sleep (although I never seem tired), and ZERO motivation to do anything but breath seem to be the biggest hurdles right now. I'm sure depression will set in shortly as I've read...although I was always the optimistic person I'm hoping the depression phase is short lived. Not sure if that's what they consider PAWS or not but maybe it won't come at all! Hey that's an optimistic thought...I'm getting better.
I am a 50 old female with a 17 yr old daughter. Have suffered from depression and anxiety in the past. Prozac and Wellbutrin have worked in the past. As my depression has recurred - drugs aren't helping much. Anxiety very high, shaky hands, cold, cold, cold, tired, lethargic. Experiencing panic attacks which I use to have in my 20's. Also have restless leg syndrome. Tests for menopause come out normal but very low normal.
Assuming that the test result was for TSH, were you also tested for the actual thyroid hormones, Free T4 and Free T3? If so, please post results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.

In my opinion the very best way to treat a thyroid patient is to test and adjust levels of the actual biologically active thyroid hormones (free T3 and free T4) with whatever type of medication is necessary to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH levels. If it is really Free T3 Index, then the measurement units are different, plus that test seems to be outdated and not nearly as useful as a Free T3 test. Further, I have never seen that test done for any of the many members of this Forum over the last 8 years.
I have done depression tests online and the result is always sever depression, my parents don't know I do the tests and self harm, I don't know if I should just tell them I wanna get tested and show them the results I keep on getting from online tests or to just let it go, I'm scared they are just gonna say "Jorjia, its just a online test don't be ridiculous" and then forget about it.
