Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with anxiety my junior yr of college. I had couple panic attacks in one week (it was during finals). I could not go to class, was avoiding public places due to the fear of panic attacks. I was put on clonopin and lexapro. I slept a lot, the meds helped; but i still did not feel like normal me. After couple months, instead of clonopin I was put on xanax and i had to take it everytime I felt anxious.
Avatar m tn See Matt, this is why these forums are so great. You get many different perspectives. I never got sick like kathyjo, just felt incredibly edgy and nasty for those few days. Felt like crying alot too...which I did...alot lol. Each person has a different experience, but the one thing in common we all have and I'm sure would agree, is the thought that a cigarette is the answer to our woes and if we would just take that first puff, it would all go away.
Avatar f tn I have anxiety and depression also. have you been diagnosed with any kind of mental disorder? idk but from my experience, a psychiatrist can help determine what is going on and prescribe you medication that may help. I am taking 50 mg of Zoloft (sertraline) and it has worked very well. its one of the first meds doctors prescribe because of its success rate. but not everything works for everyone. you just have to try. maybe you should try making an appointment with a psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn General practitioners are not the best choose for anxiety / depression disorders. By the way, people with anxiety / depression are constantly in the self diagnosing modes. Don't be afraid to take meds if they will alleviate daily suffering.
Avatar f tn To be honest, you sound like yes, you are having symptoms of depression and anxiety. Covid can have after symptoms but for someone that has had covid twice, I wouldn't go there to think you do. There are other things going on and a history with you that would make me think more mental health. What CAN you do? Well, what about digging into the mental health aspect? A psychologist who does dbt/cbt therapy?
Avatar n tn I think depression can be a combination of things - both physical and emotional. I used to get mind blowing headaches, which was partly caused by my depression, and then because I had them, it made me feel emotionally worse. It's a nasty cycle. From what you've described, you've been under a ton of stress, getting married is up there in the stress meter! I know when I've been ill, which I went through recently, it sure made my mood drop.
229538 tn?1300377767 Really the whole dt thing breaks down into stages, the first stage is that super flu feeling, no sleep, rls etc. As I think back I had depression, anxiety, and other symptoms but that flu kept me focused on only that. As that whole flu feeling dissipates then the depression, lack of energy and anxiety hit and seem to last forever. But slowly as those dissapate then the cravings come into play and the PAWS...
Avatar m tn definitely! you need to see your psychiatrist for treatment. i deal with the confusion almost daily and even medicine doesn't help much, but my psychiatrist isn't the best. i'm going to find a new one soon. some maybe depression too, i have anxiety with depression and mania cycles as well. anxiety can make you do some wierd things and it sounds like you have it.
Avatar f tn Can those be symptoms of anxiety and depression? Can constant popping, clicking and cracking joints with pain really be a symptoms of anxiety and depression? I am just so scared that their is something else causing my symptoms? @Mammo-you're right. I'm letting my life pass me by and I'm wasting it worrying about my health. I just do not know how to make all of these symptoms go away and get my life back. I just don't know what to do. I have no where to turn.
Avatar m tn Yes, anxiety can cause all sorts of symptoms. Stomach problems are high on the list and so are muscles aches. If we think about these symptoms they can feel worse because we do have anxiety. Hopefully the endoscopy will give you some answers as to what's going on with your stomach. If it is GERD that can cause the weird feelings in your throat.
Avatar n tn Depression can have many different symptoms. What affects one person will not affect another. Physical symptoms are very common with depression and anxiety - but we cannot give you a diagnosis here of course. Have you been diagnosed with depression and prescribed medication? Medication itself can give side effects like those you describe. It is difficult to tell you what is causing your sweats and chills without knowing a bit more about you.
Avatar n tn ve went through a severe state of anxiety for the last couple of months with a wealth of symptoms and no treatment. The triage in ER said both anxiety and depression are often caused or intensified by a chemical imbalance in the brain. I thought my GP was pretty compitent up until things got miles worse. I informed him I knew it would develop to the stage it would get to and all he did was recommend infrequent CBT sessions.
1618236 tn?1408072214 I have been recently diagnosed with BPD along with Generalized Anxiety and I am currently under a psychiatrist and a psychologist care. I have been having problems with communicating with others, uncomfortable when people touch me, sensitive to criticism and rejection with extreme anxiety along with angry outbursts with my family having these symptoms continously everyday and was wondering if anyone else also has these issues.
398624 tn?1266269449 Does anybody think that anxiety could present itself with same symptoms as Meniere's Disease? Doctor diagnosed me with Meniere's, but after I had normal ENG, he now knows it's not Menieres.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am seeing both a Psychologist and a Psychaitrist for a combination of various anxiety and depression symptoms. These include IBS, OCD, decrease sexual desire, claustrophobia etc. The major reason I seeked treatment was that I lost my job about a month ago due to an outburst and bad judgment. The doctors feel that it could be reflective of bi-polar. But I felt that the anxiety and depression symptoms should be treated first. To cut through the chase, he gave 25MG of Topamax.
Avatar f tn Hi, I was on lexapro for about 5 years for depression and anxiety. Worked great. Then one day started making me jittery, restless legs syndrome etc. since then I've tried about every ssri and they all give me horrible side effects. I took cymbalta for a short time helped at first then crazy mood swings. At this point I am so frustrated and thought I was the only one that had this problem. I now see a lot of people have struggles with it. I am considering trying the Prestiq.
Avatar f tn Hello- I'm new here and wondering if there is anyone out there to help me. My father was diagnosed with ALS 4 wks after my daughter was born in July of '05. I went into extreme depression (sarafem and xanax helped). I had severe anxiety that actually comes and goes. I only use 1 xanax at night maybe twice a week for sleeping purposes. I am currently not on any antidepressants. My question is I starting in September I the anxiety came back and got so much worse during the holidays.
Avatar f tn I am a 55 yr. old women experiencing menopausal symptoms. I have struggled with depression for many years but now it is worse. I take med. for it but my mood is still very low. My husband lost his job last year and I am taking courses. We have no income at this time but are managing for the moment. There is nothing to look forward to, we never go out, or do anything. I am living in a prison and I don't know how to get out of this.
Avatar n tn d been having in my head would be gone, but it has returned and caused anxiety attacks with some depression. My family doctor has prescribed 1/2 .5 of generic Klonopan to take as needed for the month, but she told me to only take it when needed. So, since I have that funny feeling everyday, I need the Klonopan each day b/c it does seem to relieve that feeling. So, does that mean that my feeling could have been anxiety all along.
Avatar m tn I was just curious if others on this forum have had issues with anxiety and depression due to their thyroid? My blood tests came back with elevated TPA, low vitamin D and low testosterone. I have an appointment with my Throid specialist in 2 weeks but that seems like an eternity. My symptoms seem to be getting worse; no sleep, depression, anxiety, numbness in fingertips and toes. Just feel terrible. Are there any natural remedies I can try to bridge the gap? Many thanks.
