Avatar n tn My psychiatrist suggested that Cytomel may help some with depression and also with the tiredness and sleepiness I have had for years.I went to internet and read about hypothyroidism and how it often is undiagnosed due to normal blood test. Well I was uneasy about the Cytomel at first but when i saw how many of the symptoms of hypothyroidism I have I wondered if that isn't my problem. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia also and wondered if that has anything to do with the thyroid.
Avatar f tn I have been told that my physical symptoms are likely to be due to depression and the lymphocytosis a result of having asthma. I have been taking antidepressants (60mg Duloxetine/ daily - for 12 months), although I stopped taking them 2 months ago as they had no effect on my symptoms. I don't know whether these symptoms are physical or psychological. Can depression cause the physical symptoms i've mentioned above? If so what can I do about it?
Avatar f tn Well i guess its obvious to most people when i write down what i feel that I'm depressed and i think its time to get treatment if im honest with myself but i'm in the uk and was wondering if anyone knew of any discreet ways of getting help as i am a very proud person and i find it hard to open up about my problems. Thanks for reading this and if anyone could help id greatly appreciate it.

Avatar f tn We understand what you are going thru and know about how you feel. These are the symptoms of depression/anxiety and they are the worst!!! Life is short enough as it is. I'll be praying for you...
Avatar n tn I have found personally that I get a lot of physical symptoms with depression. I have myself had a CAT scan for pains, but all was negative. I eventually accepted it was all connected with my depression. Funny things can happen that make us believe we are physically ill, and yet it is all due to depression. If you think this is not true in your case, then worry your doctors until they do something.
Avatar f tn he says the sore throats, stomach cramps and fatigue are all signs of stress and believes Im on the edge of depression (!) but when I have looked into these symptoms myself, they are so varied it could be a number of things including ME/CFS... Im sorry, I don't know what the second reply means...

Avatar n tn Thank you doctor, quick question then, I have not experienced any symptoms really and I have taken a UK test after 11 weeks and 4 days (81 days) not the required 12 weeks as I have been told here in the UK, would you say I can rely on the negative result that I have received? Or are the additional 2/3 days important?
6347957 tn?1380520428 I see you are from the UK, and I have no info about the doctors or their diagnosis there. If he says you are not depressed, did he give you a diagnosis about why you feel so bad and what you can do about it..?? Hold on, I am sure that we here as a community can be very helpful to you with your questions...
Avatar f tn Okay so I've had issues with depression way before becoming pregnant. And now being pregnant I of course cannot take my meds. Has anyone else dealt with depression issues before/during pregnancy? No certain reason behind them, just depressed. And does it usually cause you to be more at risk for post partum depression? How can I deal with this easier? Now and once my little man is here?
Avatar m tn There are already tests available to test your monoamines (serotonin, norepinephrine, dopamine). Those are usually urine tests and they are pretty expansive (about 400-600$ but genetics is an information technology which means it is evolving exponentially which means you will see the price lowered in the years to come) . Depression can be more complicated than modifications in your monoamines. Some have the biological depression and some don't.
Avatar m tn Had mild depression for two years and then had some nasty panic attacks when I moved house two years ago. In the UK we have the normal tablet and then the timed release tablet. I am trying to come off by using the 37.5mg timed release in the morning then the 37.5mg normal tablet with 10% (7.5 mg) chopped in the evening, for a starter. I previously tried going one day on the 37.5 and then the 75mg and try to alternate but this seemed too big a drop for me.
Avatar f tn you will be able to relieve many of depression symptoms......as someone said.....there is no claimity when there is certainity....certainity about we will die and stand infront of our God .....and only He will judge us fairly based on our actions..... one last thing.....i want you to go on youtube and type 'seventeen benefits of tribulation' by Humza Yusuf......this is one of the best lectures ever.....i would recommend you to listen all the parts......
Avatar f tn I work in the Internet industry in the UK. I suffered from depression three years ago. I was basically cured before I was infected with the new crown in November 2021. I have stopped using antidepressants. But after being infected with the new crown, the depression relapsed again. The doctor judged that it was one of the symptoms of the new crown, brain fog, which continued.
Avatar f tn Protozan is an herbal used for depression, and amoryn a natural formula for depression. These remedies are not regulated like medications, although they are starting to look closer at them. They may have some serious side effects that are unknown, and I would avoid them. If you feel depressed, I agree that you need to see a psychiatrist to determine this, and he would know if medication is needed or maybe just therapy or both.
Avatar n tn Hi everyone.....im due 26th March and I am currently 6 weeks....did anyones symptoms kicknin this week? I het nausea but its been bearable....hoping it doesnt get worse!

Avatar m tn I have read on the thyroid forum here (thyroid disorders) from people in the UK that medical testing is severely lacking in the UK on this subject.
Avatar f tn s ever felt that way or anyone else in your family, what she feels is normal and she would be the one to get further intervention if the two of you decide that you may have symptoms of depression. There are important things that go into being diagnosed as depressed. One of the criteria is that one must have the symptoms every day for at least two weeks straight. We ALL go through periods of being down and having the blues but that is different than clinical depression.
447939 tn?1235061943 My heritage is from the UK. Wish I could visit there some day. Been to Europe (mainland), but never the UK. My grandparents on fathers side were first generation Americans, immigrating from Scotland. Do you like living there?
Avatar n tn m now wondering if perhaps my symptoms are due to depression or are perhaps exacerbated because of depression. My question is can depression be a purely physical disease? In other words, can one have depression without feeling 'sad' emotionally? I've always been a happy, optimistic person. I have no other major stressors in my life, aside from my present illness. I'm a 30 y/o male with no history of any serious illness. I'm in good shape and have a good social life.
