Avatar m tn Sweety if he is younger than you. Realistically you cannot expect much from this young guy. Women mature much faster than women and he is not mentally able to have this responsibility. Be strong mama and you'll be ok. Talk to your doctor if it becomes unbearable.
Avatar f tn Losing interest in doing things, lethargy and lack of appetite are all classic symptoms of depression. I recommend that you talk to your doctor about this. I can tell you to just get up and do something but I know that is so hard if you are really depressed. Hormones in pregnancy can cause some women to be depressed. So, talk to your doctor. If you can exercise, it really does help. It releases a happy hormone in the brain that fights stress.

480331 tn?1310403529 Have any of you heard, that now part of your regular OB appts, Drs will be screening for signs of depression? SO SMART. So many women suffer from mild to severe cases of depression, and once they become pregnant, mixed with hormones, well...it isn't a happy cocktail. Also, post partum depression...it is so easily fixed, yet so hidden from many new Moms...please talk to someone if you have the baby blues, or feel overwhelmed...help is only minutes away!
Avatar f tn The men were as likely as the women to become depressed with marital strain, but the link between negativity, depression and metabolic syndrome only applied to women, she said. The depression in women accounted for the metabolic syndrome, she said. Exactly why isn't known, but Henry speculated that women may take the negativity more to heart and ruminate about it more than men. Henry can't say specifically how much risk of metabolic syndrome is attributed to the negativity.
777543 tn?1259360517 Being pregnant is hard for women who suffer from depression. When you are pregnant your hormones go haywire anyway...making your moody and emotional. But when you throw depression into the mix it's that much more pronounced. Are you on meds right now? If you aren't, you may talk to your doc about something like Zoloft. It's the only one *I* found that has not shown any negative side effects to the baby (from what i can find). I was on it while breastfeeding.
Avatar n tn I'm 33 weeks and still feel disconnected to my baby. I feel so numb and gone. I'm afraid I won't love her when she's here. I've suffered from severe depression for about 6 years now. Has anybody at all gone through the disconnected feeling?

341551 tn?1266980730 If your having mixed emotions right now, I suggest not getting pregnant because of the chances of severe depression. I used to have an amazing body and was nicely toned and athletic due to working with horses, but I had gotten pregnant at 17 yrs old with my first child, and the only good thing that came out of being big was a larger arse lol. I would rather have the body that I have now with my children than not have children at all.
Avatar f tn Celexa is a depression/ anxiety med that is pretty common for pregnant women to take. My doc said it's the safest out of all of them. Have you tried talking to someone (a friend or family member you trust)? Sounds crazy but yoga really helped me kinda refocus on the positives and made my body feel better which in turn helped my mind feel better. Talk to your doc though.
Avatar f tn When you go to medical school you learn that and that you shouldnt treat pregnant women any difrent then non. Yea things are more dificult but we asked for it. We need to do things ourself we should be able to do anything we could before. Speacil treatment is unneeded. If you cant stand in line that is your problem and not everyone elses you need to figure out ways around it.
