depression

Avatar f tn I have had those symptoms before, your body craves what it wants during pregnancy. I'm sure you will be fine but the tiredness is from being pregnant. I could sleep for hours and wake up and go back to sleep so no worries there. You def need a car for emergencies and find you a salty tasting fruit they are out there just google it.
7677085 tn?1395374075 I've always had problems with depression, since as far back as I can remember. As much as rest and relaxing is important, my doctor tells me to keep busy. Even if I'm just writing or I doodle. Lol. I know its much harder with a child around. But maybe try and do stuff that would involve them. There's always the therapy option, I used to be to proud for it but its nice to be able to talk to someone that honestly doesn't care or retain it. I go there to complain.
Avatar f tn Hey ladies. Need some support here, after an uneventful start to the pregnancy I suddenly just got bombshelled around 8 weeks. I have hypermesis gravidarum and not being able to go out. Or eat anything cooked or with a smell is destroying me mentally. I am so tired. I can barely get out of bed. I'm a skinny little thing but my bump is huge and I'm only 11 weeks along. I would kill for someone to tell me its going to get better soon because I feel like I can't keep going.

480331 tn?1310403529 I never dealt with it personally, but I know a lot of women who have and it can be devastating. I wish more doctors would start discussing the signs and symptoms early in pregnancy so that women know what to look for.
Avatar f tn I have depression, anxiety problems and ptsd all in one, I haven't had any symptoms with my pregnancy and this is my 3rd pregnancy. I'm married and the only support I have is my husband and that is one of the main factors of my depression. I have insurance and they cover all but $20.
Avatar n tn Restlessness, hypertonia, jitteriness, irritability and poor feeding occurred in a neonate after maternal use of venlafaxine for depression during pregnancy. The diagnosis was confirmed by a temporary improvement after administration of a low dose (1 mg) of venlafaxine to the boy. The symptoms ceased after 8 days. Best is let your OB know before you get pregnant and get their input on this.
Avatar f tn Definitely harder. My oldest turns 21 in August (I was 19), then my 3 year old (I was 37).. that was harder but other than heartburn not too bad.. now at 40 it's a bigger difference having more pregnancy symptoms then ever and just over all harder to carry but with my 3 year old I am a much more patient Mom than at 19.

Avatar n tn The symptoms of numbness and tingling and skin sensations are symptoms of anxiety and depression. If you suffer from anxiety and depression, you are sure to experience these symptoms. So these symptoms are related to anxiety and depression and not childbirth as such. You are likely to experience the symptoms if you have anxiety and depression without childbirth also. Please keep yourself free from stress and be happy with the baby. Please consult a psychotherapist for help.

In other words, can one have depression without feeling 'sad' emotionally? I've always been a happy, optimistic person. I have no other major stressors in my life, aside from my present illness. I'm a 30 y/o male with no history of any serious illness. I'm in good shape and have a good social life.

Avatar f tn Depression is definitely normal during pregnancy because of all the extra hormones you are producing. You need to talk to your doctor ASAP and let them know you have a history of depression, this way they can put you on meds. Your depression might also get worse after you give birth so do something about it now. This way the meds will be in your system and working by then. The stress and depression isn't just bad for you, it's bad for baby as well.
