Common Questions and Answers about Depression medication without side effects

depression

Avatar m tn If you are taking medication for depression does that make your system take longer to ejaculate and also make it harder to gain an erection?
Avatar f tn Give it about a 7-10 days for the side effects to wear off. If you experience more side effects, especially life threatning, you will need to seek medical attention asap. Remember, always read about a medication prior to taking it or ask your physician and/or the pharmacy about the medication.
Avatar n tn I have been prescribed Acebutolol for PVC's and I am literally exhausted since beginning this medication but I didn't see that as one of the side effects. Also, my vision is blurred. Is this normal?
Avatar n tn However, sometimes the medication outweighs the side effects. Cymbalta allows me to get through a day without anxiety, I rarely have to take my clonozapems. Ask your psychiatrist the next time you visit them, they will have a better idea of what route to go.
909257 tn?1242668182 Pain medications have numerous side effects and those who do take pain meds on a regular basis do usually have some kind of depression due to the fact that they do have chronic pain but as far as the meds causing depression or bipolar no I do not believe so.
Avatar m tn I think you're misusing the Wellbutrin, which is why it isn't working for you. It's a very stimulating antidepressant, but not much good for anxiety -- it often increases it because it's stimulating. Good if depression is your primary problem, but not if anxiety is the primary problem. However, when you're on an ssri and you have weight gain or sexual side effects, Wellbutrin is often added to the ssri to counter those side effects.
Avatar n tn Can anyone tell me what the long term effects of depression medication are? And also, I want to know the effects of mixing Paxil, Lithium and Adderall together. I was on those drugs in my teens and it seems like now my memory is really bad. Does anyone know if there are any long term effects on your memory from any of these drugs or mixing these drugs? Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn Doing so can cause major withdrawals and horrible side effects. I have a link that tells you all about seroquel. I do not reccomend you read it, as it will only scare you off it. I did not even look closely at the page. But I will leave it up to you. Blessings - Blu http://www.rxlist.com/seroquel-side-effects-drug-center.
Avatar f tn Yes, depression is a side effect of Avonex. It is also a general symptom of MS, but in your case it is very telling that it has intensified in the last few weeks. Please alert your neurologist and perhaps your PCP (whoever prescribed the antidepressant). Depression is also a side effect of the other interferons, so I'm left curious if you felt that with Rebif and Betaseron.
411389 tn?1230124477 For me, to have some relief from the severe depression made the side effects more than bearable, they are nothing in comparison.
Avatar f tn I believe you can continue to take your Ativan as it is in a different class of drugs from your other meds. BUT.................I am NOT a doctor nor a pharmacist and I will tell you right now that you MUST check this out with someome with real knowledge of the interactions of medications. And that is NOT me! Zoloft, an antidepressant, normally reaches steady state in about a week and in my humble opinion, you should not still be feeling "really anxious and nervous.
Avatar m tn Side effects of famotidine are rare. Minor side effects include constipation, diarrhea, fatigue, headache, insomnia, muscle pain, nausea, and vomiting. Major side effects include agitation, anemia, confusion, depression, easy bruising or bleeding, hallucinations, hair loss, irregular heartbeat, rash, visual changes, and yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice).
Avatar m tn Hi Nick, In short, anything is possible and many meds mixing together certainly make it harder to know what is doing what. Norvasc appears to be for blood pressure normally and a list of drug interactions can be found here : http://www.rxlist.com/norvasc-drug.htm. I claim no knowledge except of what site to look at for this info. Much of it I wouldn't follow either but it will hopefully mean something to you.
Avatar m tn However, the real issue for me is that I need to be on medication for the depression (which becomes severe without medication), and now I seem to be sensitive to anything serotonergic(even mirtazapine) and bupropion is also not working well. Is there any other drug I can try? Is there any treatment for these side-effects so that I can go back on SSRIs? I am also afraid that all these might be a form of mild tardive dyskinesia. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn ve stayed with it the longest. My question is regarding the side effects. Occasionally I will notice an internal restless feeling -- usually lasts a few days. It's almost like I feel kind of antsy. My sleep is not disturbed -- I sleep normal as usual. I've also noticed, and have in the past, that I have some twitches. Various muscles in my body will twitch from time to time.
Avatar f tn Obviously, if your medications keep you from having suicidal or homicidal thoughts, staying on the meds is a no brainer. Those are significant side effects of your disorders that absolutely need to be properly managed, would you agree? If you are having a problem with one of the meds, like side effects for example, then keep the lines of communication open with your doctor.
Avatar f tn m also quitting smoking.) He said that one of the side effects could be suicidal thoughts. I have never had these before in my life. I am scared to death that this medication is going to make me think about things like that. Does this happen to a lot of people? And, does it happen with people who don't usually have these types of thoughts?
Avatar f tn When I got back to work I started on lexapro again but this this time I had all sort of side effects possible. My dr. prescribed me now 20mg but I am scared of taking it, because of the side effects and because I never wanted any kind of medication.
Avatar f tn I was on fluoxetine for over 6 years without any side effects, then i came off it for 6 months ,I then had to go back on it ,but it started to cause a stuffy blocked nose and ear and head pressure which then resulted in pain in and around the eye ,has anyone heard of this and has this happened to anyone else?
Avatar f tn I feel like everything inside is really warm like I am taking a fat burner. I have read some of the side effects but it also states that it takes a few weeks for cardiac function to adjust to this med. I am still perplexed at how spontaneous the diagnosis happened without other testing to rule out anything else. I am probable asking the same question that has been asked more than it can be counted but who has experienced and did this pass and get better?
Avatar f tn I am currently looking for a new depression medication. I need some info on something that is NOT a SSRI, a hormone, and is not zoloft, celexa, or prozac......also something that does not contain salicylic acid aka aspirin. If anyone can help I would appreciate the help.
Avatar m tn m asking because if you have just anxiety you may be able to take only an anxiety med and they usually do not cause sexual side effects. If you do have depression along with anxiety you might want to think about Wellbutrin or Cymbalta. But, you would most likely need to add an anxiety med. Both of these meds are known for not causing sexual side effects.
