Avatar m tn The first couple weeks my wife and I both noticed a big improvement with my symptom of ADD. Than all of a sudden it stopped working. I told my doctor, he changed it to Bupropion 300mg XL. Its been a week and a half since its been changed and no improvement. What happened to make it quit working? Will it start if I give it some more time?
Avatar f tn i started lexapro two weeks ago on 10mg and I felt great!! i felt the best I have ever felt after the initial anxiety side effects. i upped my dosage to 20mg two days ago and it just stopped working?? I'm back where I was before; irritable, depressed, down in the dumps. i don't know what to do. i was the happiest I had ever been and now im back. I'm terrified and frustrated and panicking!!! I was finally happy and free and able and it's gone. What do I do?
Avatar m tn I have been on 40mg of celexa for the past 3 to 4 years. The doctor prescribed it to me because I was going through a depression and decided that I wanted to take this medication. I haven't seen this doctor nor am I able to since I am out of college, where I saw my doctor. 3 weeks ago I stopped taking it cold because I ran out. I didn't think anything of it since I was feeling fine. The past 3 days I have been feeling bad.
Avatar f tn I am concerned. I have a family member that stopped taking their antidepressant medications. He feels that he is okay without them, and that he can manage with some OTC herbs. He is not doing well with the herbs. He is clearly having issues at work, and is very stressed. Any suggestions on resources for him on how to cope or me on how to guide him to help? He hates the meds for how they feel, but he is clearly worse off them.
1709162 tn?1314084832 This continued for about 4 to 5 weeks at which time the medication had built up in my system to where it was working effectively. The jitteryness and increased anxiety went away. You need to give the medication a good 4 to 6 weeks to really see if it is working for you. You should see an improvement as you go along those 4 to 6 weeks.
Avatar n tn You have received good advice already, and take note that Effexor does have a stimulating effect, and most anxiety and depression is a mixture of both, so Zoloft or some other medication may be your answer...as for memory, it's hard to diagnose from this information because it could be from the heightened anxiety..did you try therapy along with medications..if not, you can try the self help therapy I have pioneered at www.myvirtualshrink.com.
Avatar f tn when I stopped i went into the worst bout of depression ever imaginable to me - nightmarish. Went back on abilify to taper off for 1 month. When stopped suffered panic attack consecutive for 2 weeks, with sever sense of lonliness, and despair. I then saw a psychiatrist, who increased my zoloft dose to 100mg and changed brands. My heart stopped thudding two days ago, but still have sense of despair severe. no eating, severe diarrhea, can't get out of bed.
Avatar n tn The injections have greatly helped me, (until they just stopped working as well after getting them for 2 years). Very unusual for them to stop working as well. The injections can work for up to 3 months or longer. It's well worth a try for you to ask about getting them. They were approved for migraines by the FDA in October 2010.
Avatar m tn It's not time top stop going then. Therapy can't be rushed. It's also possible the therapist you chose isn't right for you. It's possible CBT isn't the right form of therapy for you -- it's the gold standard for anxiety, insofar as there is one and there really isn't, but depression can be a different can of worms.
Avatar m tn and i noticed something mysterious that my sex suddenly stopped working i try to make it stand but its not working at all. i am so much worried. what should i do ?? any diet can i take that makes me normal ?? and is it worrying issue for me ?? i am so scared.
Avatar f tn does anyone know anything about celexa? for depression I have been on wellbution 300 mg lexapro paxil ... i can't find anything that continues to work for my depression. It seems to work for a little while and then stops. Or maybe it's just me? my diagnosis is bipolar 2 although sometimes I think it's bipolar1 with depression. I never have any energy and i feel trapped in my house. I am very antisocial. I don't want to be. I just cant help it .
Avatar f tn Hope you find a peaceful place and work out if the medication is the best for you. Did you tell your doctor that you had stopped taking it before?
Avatar f tn You do not need to just "kick" the pills. Medication for depression and anxiety cannot just be stopped on a whim. You need to talk to your doctor about the severity of your depression/anxiety and see if the risk of not taking it outweighs the benefits of taking it. I know that some anti-depressant meds are OK during pregnancy because my friend took something for her anxiety the whole time she was pregnant with her son. For her, the benefits of the meds outweighed the risk.
953190 tn?1276516034 re depressed again, I would definitely go back on this medication. Always keep in mind that every medication works differently in different individuals. Every situation and body is unique, so go by what you know has worked for you.
Avatar f tn I also took lexapro for approximately 2 years, then it stopped working. Went on prozac, then it stopped working. Now I'm back on lexapro, about 3 weeks now, the depression is lifting. I feel strange whenever I switch meds, but sometimes they lose their punch after a lot of time goes by. You will feel better soon. And you have the right attitude, the meds don't do it all for us. We have to participate in managing our symptoms. You're on the right track...GL...
Avatar n tn There is no best medicine for depression. It is all based upon different symptoms, chemicals, body chemistry, etc. A lot of time it is trial and error. I have been on most meds switching either because one stopped working, bad side effects or they didn't work. This with combinations of meds over time. Trial and error. But you need to insist that your doctor change your medication. I felt that way on Cymbalta and the withdrawl was almost worse than being on the drug.
Avatar f tn these meds i am taking is not working, i knew they wasnt going too. some members on here was saying it was because of the alcohol. which i knew was the case (but i am not drinking anymore) anyway has anyone been feeling strange after they took there medication. it put me in a relax mood so much i cant move. i have missed school and work because i have been able to get out of bed, i would be asleep for 12 hours. and also have any of you experience nightmares that you cant awaken from.
Avatar m tn I posted about a week ago that my doctor stopped my Zoloft because it reaced its "poop out" point(stopped working) and i was experiencing really bad depression/anxiety again after being on zoloft for 18months. My doc tried Lexapro but i experienced very fast weight gain since being on it so he stopped it. i saw him tonight for a check up appointment on the Medication adjustments.
Avatar f tn Are there ANY anxiety/depression meds that are allowed to take during pregnancy?
