Hi all, just been dx'd with Chiari 1. I have been to several Drs. Most recent one told me I am Asymptomatic, tell that to the headaches, dizzy spells and inability to get the words to come out of my mouth (I know what I want to say, I just can't seem to spit it out). I am in Omaha area and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Dr. Thorell at UNMC, as he is my next stop on the road to getting someone to listen to me.

We do have a list of anti inflammatory foods that can help some...and reduce the NSAIDS needed to help relieve pain. Most will agree that pain meds do not touch a chiari HA. Since u mention a BP cuff is he having high BP?..when he stands?...while seated? I would keep away from chiropractors until after u see a chiari specialist.

but as time passes symptoms seem to be becoming more frequent. Can anyone help me figure out what my best options are moving forward at this point? At this point I am starting to get stressed out and scared at the same point in time. any information would be greatly appreciated.

I started having cervical/vaginal and rectal pain during my period about 1 year ago. It starts the day before my period and lasts about three days. I don't have any abdominal cramping or unusual bleeding. It is to the point that it hurts to wear tampons or have intercourse. It also hurts so bad to have a bowel movement. It doesn't hurt any other time of the month. It is very predictable. I was thinking it would go away, but it hasn't.

Hi I'm Tiffany. I have a C2 Syrinx. Posttraumatic SCI. I got a Laminectomy to try help symptoms. My surgical site got infected, so they had to reopen it, wash it out. Symptoms didn't improve. So my Dr. put a shunt. My symptoms still are worsening. I don't know what to do. I can't move a lot since my SCI. I just wanted to not feel alone. I'm terrified of loosing my ability to breathe. I already can hardly feel my face. Symptoms I have seems more complicated.

Has anyone had to find a private flight to get to your hospital when called that an organ was available?? We are in that position. We live in L.V., NV., and will have to get to Omaha NE. when called. We can't use the airlines, and we can't move there. I have started contacting people, and I have contacted some of the "mercy" flights, but they don't have anything guaranteed that could get us there in the 4-6 hours we will have. Anyone been in this position??

with the flooding, this pumping station simply *had* to be taken off line. I do find it odd that the City of Omaha does not have a way to divert the waste from that pumping station to another, that isn't subject to flooding; maybe after this, they will plan accordingly. In the meantime, avoid the Missouri River, at least in the Omaha area......

I am in Omaha too, northwest side of town! How old are you ladies (I am 24)? I am not announcing it yet because I worry I will jinx myself and be one of those who miscarries. I am definitely not nervous about announcing it though.. I am so excited!! I have a photoshoot next week where I am going to wear this shirt that says "this girl is going to be a mommy".. and I'm going to use it as my announcement.
