Avatar m tn My husband is taking clonazepam .05, Lomtrigine 200 mg and pramipexole dihydrochloride 0.25 for depression, anxiety and RLS. He hasn't been able to get out of bed lately and has missed a lot of work. Could this excessive sleepiness be due to the combination of these drugs? Avatar m tn Please help guide me. I get the recommended amount of sleep at night, but invariably, during the day I get "sleep attacks," and all but HAVE to sleep. I suffer from depression, but that is being successfully treated with Cymbalta. I thought my sleep problems were directly associated with the depression, but they did not clear up when the depression did. That being said, I can't, in all honesty, say exactly when the sleep problems began.

Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, first thing to rule out is hypersomnia. It may present as excessive daytime sleepiness or nocturnal sleep of long duration (as much as 12 h or more) or sleep drunkenness. Your symptoms are due to Shift work. The sleep problems can be resolved by transferring from the night shift or by adopting a daily sleep routine that is consistent seven days per week. Chronic insomnia may develop in individuals who work the night shift on either a rotating or permanent basis.
Avatar f tn Why are the side affects of antidepressants sleepiness drowsiness and weight gain? So, I’m supposed to get better from sleeping all day and having no motivation with medication that has these side effects? It makes no sense! They should prescribe Adderall for people who are depressed...
Avatar f tn I was able to have a sesssion with my addiction counselor and find a doctor who put me on zoloft, as I have a depression and anxiety disorder. After I took the Zoloft, I became very sleepy and totally lost my appetite. He switched me today to Celexa. I haven't taken any yet. Could the problems I'm having be from going off the hydros or taking the antidepressants? Maybe a combination of both?
445263 tn?1208801416 I have been on Zoloft (50mg) for about four months approximately and I am feeling much better about myself. I have a very slight decrease in sex drive and a little sleepiness and occaisional confusion, but I do not feel depressed anymore and I have had a lot of improvement with my anxiety. I just wanted to hear anyone else who had something to say positively about Zoloft. Seems like all I hear is negative reviews about it on the internet. Thanks, everyone!

Patients do not get abnormal amounts of night sleep rather they have problems waking up in the morning and staying awake during the day. The causes can be genetic, brain damage or medical disorders such as clinical depression, uremia and fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn Most common initial side effects are nausea, indigestion and sleepiness, but they usually go away after a few weeks. Personally Celexa did absolutely nothing for me, but I know several people for whom it works great. It's the first-line drug for a reason - it's the least dangerous anti-depressant, with the least chance of side-effects. Don't worry, just try it and see how it goes. And if it doesn't work, tell your doctor and they can try you on another.

500453 tn?1210676097 However, it is now these bouts of extreme sleepiness seem to be a regular occurrence. While I do fall asleep very quickly at night, I am a light sleeper. These episodes of sleepiness are often so extreme I am unable to keep my eyes open and often better off if I can just lie down and try to sleep it off, however this sleep is often restless. What could be the underlying cause? I have a recurring pituitary tumor (1.
