These are low or high blood pressure, anemia, heart attack, arrhythmias, strokes, headaches, migraines, dehydration and blood electrolyte changes. Certain medicines like anti hypertensives, pain killers, anti depressants, etc. Consult a neurologist for assessment of these symptoms since these could mean multiple sclerosis or an impending stroke.

MS can mess up your sleep which also causes emotional problems. I was thought to be Bipolar for 30 years. Now that they figured I have had MS that long they now say it is the MS. My sleep was messed up which caused most of my depression and mood swings. I still take a mood stabilizer to help. I can't take antidepressants but many with MS do.
Avatar m tn epilepsy,psychotic problems and extreme severe depression can cause phantom scents,anxiety is a big cause,also neurological problems such as a tumour or an over active prolactin gland,maybe a cct. scan would be a good idea to rule out the latters then go down the other avenues listed if c.ct scan is clear,go to see your doctor first an foremost to discuss the possible causes..

Mine started at 7 weeks post partum and have lasted approx. 5 weeks to date. I have experienced postpartum anxiety/some depression. Anti-depressants (Klonopin and Celexa) have helped alleviate some of these symptoms, but not completely.

Avatar f tn MS also causes depression and anxiety is two ways. First is in the brain itself. The lesions in the brain or inflammation cause the emotions to be affected. Second the stress of being diagnosed, going on a DMD, etc. Cause stress. The stress leads to anxiety and depression. I went to seminar from the MS Society on this last week. I had depression my whole life. In 2009 I was finally diagnosed with MS. I had neurological problems my whole life they just did not know it was MS.

Drowsiness caused by alcohol, drugs or chemicl problems like diabetes and salt imbalance can make you slur your words.
Avatar m tn pains in my chest, arms, stomach, and back, panic attacks, occasional muscle spasms, insomnia , gastrointestinal problems, weight loss, sexual dysfunction, tingling in arms/hands, sometimes tremors in hands, one pupil occasionally dialated (both still contract in light), headache, faciculations, and recently sharp lower right abdomen pains. I went back to my doctor and got a referral to a cardiologist. I was given a stress test EKG. Everything was still normal.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome, I would think the newer symptoms are more likely to be related to a urinary tract infection (UTI) due to the higher risk of UTI's with an indwelling catheter but it could also be related to migraine, although neither would explain why your experiencing bladder retention in the first place...

There are certain causes responsible for muscle twitching like diet deficiency, drug overdose, and side effects of diuretics, corticosteroids, estrogens, exercise, benign twitches, and nervous system conditions like amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or ALS, muscle dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy and myopathy. Your neurologist needs to look into these conditions one by one. The other possible cause could be multiple sclerosis and is a diagnosis of exclusion.

He copes by doing alternative IV Therapy with glutathamine and pain medication. I can relate to your feelings I have all those problems, but mine is advanced Lyme.

An ophthalmologist’s examination of the eye is required to rule out local pathology and an otolaryngologist needs to check you for tinnitus. If these are not localized issues and part of a spectrum of symptoms, you need to consult a neurologist for investigating for demyelinating disease called multiple sclerosis where the disease phase is characterized by active phase and remissions.

Fibromyalgia also causes tingling, muscles achiness, and problems affecting the cranial nerves (which can cause eye twitching, and other facial pain/etc. I'm not a doctor, but symmetrical symptoms are not usually seen in ms, because ms generally affects one side worse than the other.

Diabetes can also cause these symptoms by diabetic retinopathy. Consult an ophthalmologist for eyes evaluation.
