I have been on Depo Provera for 13 years. I have not had a period in probably 10 years or longer. I got the flu and started taking flu medicine and two days later all of the sudden - a period. I am freaking out. What would cause a sudden period after such a long absence? I want it to go away NOW. Did the flu medicine kill my depo shot?

I have a history of anxiety and depression. Is depo-provera a good choice or a bad choice for birth control? Thank you!

A LITTLE OVER 3 YEARS AGO I GOT THE DEPO PROVERA SHOT. I ONLY GOT IT ONCE BECAUSE IN THE 3 MONTHS AFTER I GOT IT I GAINED OVER 70 LBS. I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THE WEIGHT GAIN AND STARTED BEING EVEN MORE ACTIVE AND EATING BETTER. BEFORE THE DEPO SHOT I WALKED 6 MILES A DAY AND DID CALISTHENICS EVERY MORNING AND NIGHT. I GAINED EVEN MORE WEIGHT AFTER THAT 3 MONTH PERIOD AND NOW AT 250 LBS., OVER 100 LBS.

The mini-pill is less effective than regular preparations. Depo-provera is effective, but watch out for weight gain that could worsen blood pressure issues, and take calcium supplements in addition. Hope this helps!

Hello, Depo shots have also got side effects as other birth control measures and these include Intermenstrual bleeding, menstrual abdnormalities, abdomienal pain and weight changes which may be due to weight gain. I just got a shot of depo-provera birth control 3 days ago and my period was supposed to start yesterday and it hasn't. I am sexually active and the last time I had sex was on my period last month and we used condoms but I wasn't on birth control and my partner did not go all the way. I just went to the GYN and got my annual pelvic exam and my first shot of depo and so far everything has been okay.

I am on the provera substitute the pill i mean and not the shot. And yes we had sex twice and both the time with no protection as we got confused with 'Depo-Provera' which is a birth control option. and since highschool my weight has always been a constant 110-115. Now I weight 130! All because of Depo. I hate hate hate this birth control. I was on the depo Provera for 5 yrs and I stopped about 4 yrs. ago and the effects of comming off the shot are you'll slowly get your period back, Headaches, and weight gain or decease. I've been on the Depo Provera shot since the last summer of 09 and then after getting the shot I has my period for ten days and that was it.I spot here and there but very little.I think you should talk with you doctor to see whats going on and also that you should of check out the side effects before getting on the Depo Provera shot because Deop can cause Irregular, heavy, or no bleeding are common side effects of Depo Provera. After a year of use, many women stop having periods.

Hi I am also using depo but I am able to lose weight. Just watch what you eat. Make sure they are under your daily calorie needs and exercise regularly. Walking with my baby helped me.

sounds like ur ovulating and women who ovulate heavy have this clear stringy discharge.....odorless..my mom had it..i had it.....and thank God Depo provera did away with it!my ovulation and cramping with this was worse than periods later on in life.....and while ovulating like this u can get pregnant...if u doubt this or want medical opinion got to doctor and get xamined!
