Common Questions and Answers about Depo provera side effects back pain

depo-provera

Depo Provera is costing me my relationship with my husband. After 7 years married (today) he confessed to me to be emotionally drained... wow... that's because we never have sex. And when we do it feels to me like a job. I don't enjoy it, I want it to be over fast. I definitely NOT GETTING my next shot. I guess I'll go back to the pill =/ Being a woman is a wonderful thing, but chemical birth control *****. Good luck to the ones that keep trying.
) then I gained 25lbs this time around. Plus coming off of depo I had so many terrible side effects. If you really want to be put on depo I would suggest MARINA IUD instead. Depo is suppose to take a while to come out of your system well it doesn't always take that long. They can never really explain it to you. Everyone is differnt but if there was every a law suit against depo I would sign on the dotted line in a heartbeat.
i have tried everything, from lupron, to laparoscopies, to yaz, to smoking marijuana - currently i am on Depo Provera and have been for the past year and a half. I am noticing a lot of side affects from this as time goes on, and unfortunately for me this has been the only thing that even remotely helps, and i still have a lot of pain.
Despite what docs reassure you, please READ THE SIDE EFFECTS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS OF DEPO PROVERA ON THEIR SITE!! Here are some things you may not have been told: * antibiotics DO decrease the effect of any birth control, whether it is oral, topical, or by injection. * bleeding can and does occur during pregnancy, and esp.
I dont think it's depo. I had horrible side effects from it, and was on it for 3 yrs. before I got off. (I gained 50lbs. migraines too,but had no choice.) I had been on a high risk med for my skin condition, it stayes in the system for 3 yrs. after stopping the med. Well, I got off, and got AF the month of my skipped shot. I used nuvaring for 3 mo. and then stopped for 3 mo to used natural fertility awareness. Then DH decided to jump me 3 days before ovulation and didn't p/o. so...
The docotors believe I may have a progesterone problem due to Depo Provera. I was on Depo for 6 years and went off the shot in Sept. Does anyone know if the effects of this shot can linger and cause lower progesterone levels?
C in June 2013 now its almost Aug 2013 and i am still bleeding.. hate the depo... if i had known the ACTUAL side effects. I'm due for my nxt shot in sept. but im not gonna get it... i want another baby i have 3 kids 2 m/c :/ what would my odds be for carring to term.... 2 d&c procedures i had my 1st m/c then i got pg with my youngest who will b 4 n nov. then another m/c in june 2013... what r the odds for having another m/c with depo chances are higher????
It doesn't sound like you're pregnant. Every symptom you described is side effects of the depo, as well as pregnancy. But you've also had periods and negative blood work. When women get worried about something and fixated on a problem (which is what it sounds like has happened to you) they tend to notice even the smallest things their bodies do and increase it. It's like with a headache. While you're distracted you might not notice it as much, but if you think about it the pain is a lot worse.
I was on Depo Provera for BC for 8 years with no side effects but headaches, which were manageable. Also had no periods, which was great! However, I became ill when I stopped having the injections at age 45. I experienced fatigue, joint pain and swelling, and depression. I was tested for everything from Lyme disease and Lupus, to thyroid conditons - all negative. My Dr. finally gave up and diagnosed me with Chronic Fatigue syndrome.
Is this all normal my doctor just gave me pills for an upset stomach n pain and said the urinne test came back that i wasnt pregnant because they also did not give me a pregnancy test before they put me on depo..
Opted against the Lupron for the vast scary side effects. Looked into the Depo, didn't really see anything scary. Been on oral BC since Jan and it hasn't done much... body doesn't seem to notice it's there except for the mood issues) So, went with the Depo to kinda jump-start the body into thinking pregnancy (don't have any interest in the real thing:) and stopping the cycles.
The most important thing to remember about Depo, is that you need to take a calcium supplement while on it. The side effects from Depo are the same side affects you will experience from any birth control. Just make an informed decision.
, NOT 5-10 lbs. per shot! The only other side effects listed were possible headaches, back pain, & increased risk for osteoporosis, which I was told would be resolved by taking calcium/vitamin d supplements. This drug is poison and needs to be taken off the market. To all of my sisters now suffering from this, may God touch your spirit.
Endometriosis has ruined my quality of life for 14 years now. I tried Lupron shots many years ago and it worked well on the pain but the side effects were unreal. I usually respond terribly to hormone treatments but I'm in such a terrible and desperate position right now that I just started taking the Depo provera shot. Last Tuesday to be exact. Still in excruciating pain and have searched the net high & low for days for the answer to this question.
I used Depo-Parva last year in the last week of November only took one shot and never went back because of all the side effects. Had a period the first 2 months on it then in febuary I didnt. In march I kinda spot bleed sometime in the last week. In the second week of april we had sex pull out method I didnt take any contraceptive because I didnt think I was fertile for a while. Last couple of weeks ive had tender breast back pain bloating I also sleep alot. Ive taken 3 pregnancy test..
Has anyone experienced any bad side effects from the hcg shots? I am administering them myself and just want to know what to look out for.
days when I can barely function and have also experienced symptoms of hypoglycemia and panic attacks and or crying jags for no reason. I have been reading a lot about the Depo side effects some women have had and they mirror mine. I've had a thyroid test and it was fine, so I don't think that I'm diabetic. I have been trying to eat well and clense with milk thistle to try to hasten the exit of the Depo.
My gyno suggested continual birth control pills or Depo Provera shot. I am too worried about the weight gain as a side affect from the depo shot. Still doing my research....
I just went off the depo shot a few weeks ago because I had serious side effects! I didn't realize it until I went to different doctors trying to find out what was wrong with me. Every test I got back was fine which was frustrating because I knew something wasn't right in my body. I had severe stomach problems that would brought me to the emergency room one night. I have a perfectly healthy stomach so it was strange that I kept getting sick.
I've been reading alot of different side effects from different people on the depo provera shot.. some that go from hair loss to joint pain, mood swings, water retention, WEIGHT GAIN ..and the list goes on and on.
There are many side effects that some Dr.'s fail to mention. It just doesn't seem healthy that I had no period for 6 years. Maybe the Depo is what is wrong now since I am not pg. If I were you I would check with my Dr. and consider stopping the Depo. There are many forums like this one for Depo. Good Luck to you.
AFTER THE REMOVAL I STILL HAVE THE SAME SIDE EFFECTS, BUT MY CYCLE IS BACK TO NORMAL. THAN 4 MONTHS LATER MY BOYFRIEND FOUND A NICKEL SIZE BALD SPOT ON MY HEAD. THATS wHEN MY FAMILY DOCTOR SAID IT wAS ALOPECIA AND PUT ME ON ANXIETY PILLS, VITAMIN B-12, AND STERIOD CREAMS. I STOP USING BOTH THE ANXIETY PILLS AND STERIOD CREAM AFTER BAD EXPERIMENT wITH BOTH OF THEM. ITS BEEN ALMOST 5 MONTHS AND I'M STILL LOSSING HAIR. THE NICKEL SIZE BALD SPOT IS LARGER THAN 3 QuarterS.
Welcome to the side effects of Depo Provera! :) It takes A LOT of time to get used to the drug and yes, all that you're experiencing with the mood swings, lower abdominal pains, etc. are just normal side effects. Damaging to someone is a possibility. Did the doctor explain to you the side effects and what happens to your bones the longer you're on the stuff? I was on it for 3 years and had... somewhat problems at the end. Sometimes the side effects are easily to control while other times...
He came back saying that this doctor had been studying it, and found no proof that there is a correlation to calcium loss and depo provera use. I got back on depo in January. I've now had my period pretty bad for about 10 days. Two months ago, I had it for 29 days. This isn't normal for me either. I've never had this. I'm getting annoyed. Ruined underthings because I have no clue when it will happen. I wish there was something out there that you could take.
The symptoms you're feeling are also side effects of the depo so they don't tell much of anything. Take a test with first morning urine. At this point it will be accurate.
HAS ANYONE DEVELOPED CYSTS WHILE ON DEPO PROVERA SHOTS? WHY IS MY GYN ACTING LIKE MY SYMPTOMS ARE NOT RELATED TO OVARIAN CYSTS......MINE IS SMALL 2.3 ON MY RIGHT OVARY BUT I HAVE ON/OFF ABD PAIN THAT STARTS @ NAVEL TO MY BACK. FEELING OF FULLNESS. PAIN TO MY HIPS/PELVIS. ALL G.I ILLNESS ARE RULED OUT. MY QUESTION IS SINCE I DONT HAVE PERIODS DUE TO BIRTH CONTROL, HOW DID I GET THIS CYST? AND DOES IT MATTER THE SIZE WITH THE SYMPTOMS?
I just take regular mini pill Microgestin Fe 1/20 back to back. I have done that for years. No side effects, no nothing (and I have severe endometriosis if I don't do this). PLEASE don't let anyone talk you into Depo Provera shots. That stuff is evil incarnate. It will stop your sex drive, just make you feel like a sexless piece of nothing. Hey, they give it to men to stop their sex drive, so what is up with that?
My only advice would be to avoid taking the pill just to stop the bleeding because all this does is cover up the depo after effects and if you ever decide to come back off the pill, the depo effects tend to kick back in. You've got to let your system recover and completely flush out the evil that is depo before fiddling around with more ridiculous time wasting hormones!
