Quick question... which Depo are you on? There are two kinds, that I'm aware of: Depo Provera or Depo Lupron. I had tried the Provera when I was about 16 for about a year. I had to stop because I could not handle the side effects any longer. I did spot for about 3 months. It usually takes a few months for your system to get used to it. The Lupron stops your period completely and basically puts your body into menopause, which is the one I am currently on.

I was suppose to start my period Saturday however I went in on friday and got the Depo shot. This was the first shot I have ever received. I have yet to start my period. I was on depo for 3 yrs, and luckily got AF the first month off depo. Personally, I believe if you are having regular periods, you need to buy some ovulation predictor tests, and see if your even ovulating. They're pretty expensive but you get alot of them, just test each day....etc. what the directions say on the box. That way you'll know if it's because your not ovulating... or whatnot.

I have had the depo provera shot once and never went back for the second one October 1st. I wanted to know if I should have had my period by now?

What is the best way to do this? Everyone talks about the Depo Provera, but what is the side effects and would this by any chance bring problems in the near future when we want to concieve a baby?

Im 28 and have never been pregnant slightly overweight but not too concerred and getting it back down periods were always regular and pain free went on for birth control, my husband has 1 child already and decided to start are own family.

For a moment of time, I think once or twice, I felt my sex drive come back! Yes! I thought. But as quick as it came back as quick as it went away again. I switched to another type of pill. Nothing changed. My doctor doesn't know what to do, and keeps saying it's stress and denies it ever being caused by the depo shot. I read somewhere that the depo shot is given to molesters to decrease their desire to have sex.

I think if you want something to counteract, you might talk to your doctor. Or maybe, for your anxiety, try to start meditating or start doing things like yoga. I know that they really help with those kinds of things. I can't say what to do about the hot flashes. When I experience something like that, I just open a window or go outside for a little bit. If you think you might do better with a different BC, try it out. If you don't like it, go back to the shot.

I just got a shot of depo-provera birth control 3 days ago and my period was supposed to start yesterday and it hasn't. I am sexually active and the last time I had sex was on my period last month and we used condoms but I wasn't on birth control and my partner did not go all the way. I just went to the GYN and got my annual pelvic exam and my first shot of depo and so far everything has been okay.

I think you should start trying when you feel ready. I have been trying for 18 months and still nothing after coming off of depo-provera my af is regular between 28 and 30 days and all tests on myself have come back clear. Just remember some people take longer to conceive than others my sister fell pregnant quick with her first 2 kids then 10 months with the 3rd. Just think if you start trying again just now you may still not have conceived within the first 3 months.

I was on the depo Provera for 5 yrs and I stopped about 4 yrs. ago and the effects of comming off the shot are you'll slowly get your period back, Headaches, and weight gain or decease. If you didn't start your cycle within 10 days being off provera, you should have talked to your dr immediately becasuse that is not a good sign.

I am little confused by your question. The depo provera shot is given once every three months not for three months at some unspecified interval. If you mean that you received the depo shot 4 months ago, and hence, the last month, you did not get a repeat depo shot, then the answer to your question is, yes, you can get pregnant. Right after we started getting serious though I made the appointment with my doctor to start depo provera injections which I had taken in the past for about a year and a half.
