I have been on Depo Provera for 13 years. I have not had a period in probably 10 years or longer. I got the flu and started taking flu medicine and two days later all of the sudden - a period. I am freaking out. What would cause a sudden period after such a long absence? I want it to go away NOW. Did the flu medicine kill my depo shot?
I went off Depo Provera a year and 2 months ago. I started the pill dec 2011 and stopped it June 16. I got a period June 21 and then again on aug 1st (although I expected it July 19th). So this would put me at a 40day cycle I'm thinking. So my husband and i have been active multiple times during ovulation and about every other day otherwise. I expected my period on sept 11th but it is now the 15th and both pregnancy tests were negative. Could I still be pregnant?

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone out there knows anything about the long term use of Depo-Provera Contraceptive. I have been using it for a few years now, and have no plans of stopping using it anytime soon, as I am in college and will be for quite some time to come. I know that I am putting myself at risk for Osteoporosis by using it for a long time. But what I don't know is considering the fact that since being on Depo, I have had pretty much no menstrual cycle for a very long time.
t want to have to remember to take the pill everyday. I started having sex a little before I was getting the depo shot, and sex was good. It was enjoyable, I wanted to have sex and it felt nice as it should. Soon after I took the depo shot, my libido went away. Completely. No desire for anything, sex hurt, and it made me miserable. At the time I knew it was the shot, but I don't think I wanted to believe it. My boyfriend at the time and I started going down while, so I blamed it on that.
I tried doubling up on the nasal spray since I was prescribed the wrong strength, but it did not help. I had my second Depo Provera shot on December 7. I thought it would help make the bleeding stop, but I am still bleeding. I have also tried a estrogen pill I was prescribed, but it has not helped.

My girlfriend started using the depo-provera shot about a month ago. We abstained from sex for a week after the injection just to be safe. Two weeks after the injection we had to make a visit to her family practice doctor because we had a hunch that she had a bladder infection. We were right. The doctor prescribed her to take 250 mg of Ciprofloxacin twice daily and of course Phenazopyridine for the pain.
I had the same problem as Nickie5. I had two healthy childred, I was on Depo-Provera for about 3 years. When I stopped taking the injections I bleed for 3 months straight. My cycle hasn't been the same since (about 10 years now). From start to finish, it lasts appx. 2 weeks!!! I have also had 2 miscarriages and would like to know what to do (if anything) to reverse the damage (if any).
I was on depo provera for 3 years and got my last injection in october 2008 its been 15 months and i have not had a period... i was given provera for 10 days with no results and bc pills for 4months and still nothing... i also had a pelvic ultrasound and everything was ok... me and my husband are trying to concieve but have had no luck... is there anything else i can do to get a period. please help!
The whole point of the provera is to kick start a period.. Its doesn't have "withdraw bleeding. I was told that if I hadn't gotten a normal period in 2 weeks to go back as something could be wrong. But luckily.. My period started that night without the meds .
