The only time I took provera was to induce my period but I don't think it's intended to help get pregnant in any way. There are other progesterone supplements that are sometimes prescribed to help sustain a pregnancy but that's given once you've become pregnant. So I started Depo provera 2 weeks and 2 days ago and I had unprotected sex 7 days after the shot and I was worried and called my docter to see if.it.was going to be effective they said yes cuz its been a week & I jus had unprotected sex again the second week after taking depo but dis time he cummed in me but im kind kind of worried should I be? My girlfriend started using the depo-provera shot about a month ago. We abstained from sex for a week after the injection just to be safe. Two weeks after the injection we had to make a visit to her family practice doctor because we had a hunch that she had a bladder infection. We were right. The doctor prescribed her to take 250 mg of Ciprofloxacin twice daily and of course Phenazopyridine for the pain.
