How effective is the depo provera birth control shot? ( Is it 'ok' to do it without a condom every once in a while, WITHOUT him going inside me?

So I started Depo provera 2 weeks and 2 days ago and I had unprotected sex 7 days after the shot and I was worried and called my docter to see if.it.was going to be effective they said yes cuz its been a week & I jus had unprotected sex again the second week after taking depo but dis time he cummed in me but im kind kind of worried should I be? Ive felt growls in tummy I feel naseus somtimes & the day before yesterday I ate once & didnt wana eat again...

The mini-pill is less effective than regular preparations. Depo-provera is effective, but watch out for weight gain that could worsen blood pressure issues, and take calcium supplements in addition. Hope this helps!

It actually took me over another year after my period returned before, I finally became pregnant. The depo-provera shot is extremely effective. So much so, that it actually is a bad choice of contraceptive if you actually want to get pregnant within 2 years of the shot, because it takes that long for your body to return to normal. If you are still unsure, ask her doctor.

H If you were my patient, i would advise you that the depo provera injection can be an excellent method of birth control. It is 99% effective and requires only that the patient have 4 injections per year. It is important to take a calcium supplement while using depo provera. I get pregnant pretty easily and was on depo, like the other ladies that was my only form of birth control, and I never got pregnant while on it and got pregnant just as I had before after I stopped it!! However there is a supposed two week window in which Depo-Provera is supposed to be effective and that window ended October 8th, so just a few weeks ago. However, I got back on birth control 4 days after this two week window ended on October 12th. The doctor advised me to use a condom in the first week and I go ahead like an airhead and have sex that SAME day, unprotected. While my fiance used the 'pull-out' ' method knowing basic biology, it is still possible to get pregnant.

Depo Provera is effective birth control for 3 months. I'm not sure how long it takes to completely leave your system. You may want to contact your doctor, tell him/her of your complaints and decide on another birth control option when it's time you can make the switch. Best wishes!
