I am little confused by your question. The depo provera shot is given once every three months not for three months at some unspecified interval. If you mean that you received the depo shot 4 months ago, and hence, the last month, you did not get a repeat depo shot, then the answer to your question is, yes, you can get pregnant. I was on the depo shot for about 5 years before stopping to try to conceive. It took me 3 years to conceive my son who is 6 years old.

Hi, my girlfriend lives overseas and she's on depo provera. She gets the shot once or twice a year only (not every 12 or 13 weeks). She has it injected one month in advance, every time before I travel overseas to visit her and have sex. I know depo provera meant to provide over 99% protection after 7 days, but we like to be extra cautious and wait a month before having sex. She had her last shot in September, and I visited her nearly a month later in October.

Hi, I am not sure of what type of antibiotic might affect other contraceptives like the pill, but I am pretty sure that she will be fine on the shot. I myself had the depo-provera shot about 10 years ago. I only had one shot and I didn't have a period until a whole year later. It actually took me over another year after my period returned before, I finally became pregnant. The depo-provera shot is extremely effective.

The period usually returns after stopping the shots, however, it can take 3 months to a year for the effects of Depo-Provera to wear off and fertility to return.

It is designed to keep your body from ovulating, but it also keeps your cervical mucous thick and thins the lining of your uterus to prevent implantation. Because Depo tends to keep the lining of the uterus thin, this is one of the reasons women generally have lighter periods while taking it.

However there is a supposed two week window in which Depo-Provera is supposed to be effective and that window ended October 8th, so just a few weeks ago. However, I got back on birth control 4 days after this two week window ended on October 12th. The doctor advised me to use a condom in the first week and I go ahead like an airhead and have sex that SAME day, unprotected. While my fiance used the 'pull-out' ' method knowing basic biology, it is still possible to get pregnant.

I would suggest that you start doing ovulation predictors once you have a normal period and if you are not ovulating regularly, you could start a medication like Clomid to overcome the after effects of the depo. Also, you should take lots of vit D and calcium--depo can cause thining of the bone, but that is reversible when you stop it. Good luck!

depo-provera is poison to the body and i know a lot of women on this site will agree with me. I don't think your pregnant though there could be a possibility only a test will tell you if you are or not.

I have been off Depo-Provera for 11 months now and still haven't conceived. Every month i have the same symptoms you are describing and every month i have the same negative result. I was also told afetr i came off the injection it could take me anything from a year to 2 years to conceive.

has taken me off the Depo Shots and I was put on Birth Control Pills. The blood was very dark red and blood clots. I was given an altrsound was told nothing was wrong. Is this normal with the Depo Provera?

Hello, I got my first Depo-provera shot on October 18th. That was day 2 of my period. I had unprotected sex last night with someone that I trust...and he came inside of me twice...however now I'm worried about pregnancy. Should I take a Plan B? Was the Depo provera effective?

I was a little worried the last couple of days about being pregnant so I took a Home Pregnancy Test and it was negative. Being on Depo birth control would not effect a home pregnancy test would it? I made an appointment for Friday.

I don't think you could be preg. Depo is very very affective, but if u do want to get preg then u should get off depo cause it messes u up. I was on depo for a year and a couple of months and I didn't get my period at all and now I. Off depo ad still haven't gotten my period. Me and my boy friend are TTC but I don't think I can cause I haven't had a period.

The only time I took provera was to induce my period but I don't think it's intended to help get pregnant in any way. There are other progesterone supplements that are sometimes prescribed to help sustain a pregnancy but that's given once you've become pregnant. I'm not sure why you were prescribed provera and not sure this was of much help because of it, but I do wish you the best of luck and lots of baby dust. Take care and God Bless.
