depo-provera

Avatar f tn Hello, I got my first Depo-provera shot on October 18th. That was day 2 of my period. I had unprotected sex last night with someone that I trust...and he came inside of me twice...however now I'm worried about pregnancy. Should I take a Plan B? Was the Depo provera effective?
Avatar f tn Can the depo-provera shot be given in between periods and still be affective? What would the effects of this be?
Avatar f tn someone please help and i also took the plan b ill right away in the moring
Avatar f tn I think it's just your body reacting to depo.
Avatar f tn ^And headaches as well...I had a headache 3 days after sex.

Avatar f tn Sigh see and here I thought depo would be great for me because I was horrible with taking the pill and so many things can mess up the pill and make it not work, so hey a shot every three months? Great! I'm stressing even more about unplanned pregnancy than on the pill -.- ughhhhhhhh I hope were in the clear girlie!
Avatar f tn Im 28 and have never been pregnant slightly overweight but not too concerred and getting it back down periods were always regular and pain free went on for birth control, my husband has 1 child already and decided to start are own family.
3113005 tn?1341773834 I am little confused by your question. The depo provera shot is given once every three months not for three months at some unspecified interval. If you mean that you received the depo shot 4 months ago, and hence, the last month, you did not get a repeat depo shot, then the answer to your question is, yes, you can get pregnant. I was on the depo shot for about 5 years before stopping to try to conceive. It took me 3 years to conceive my son who is 6 years old.
1978422 tn?1326152277 Mareyah...Dont give up on your dream i have been off Depo 8 yrs and just found out in Oct that i was pg!! im now 19 wks w a lil boy and im so excited i never thought i d see motherhood!! Chriss..If you re wanting to get your cycles bk on track and jump start the baby train try taking Vitex you can get it at any health food store its cheap and it will regulate you!
Avatar f tn I agree, there are no health problems especially that early in pregnancy... Provera AND I think Plan B both are forms of hormonal BC. And if your already pregnant It won't bring on a period and it won't cause an abortion.
Avatar f tn Hello, I was just wondering if anyone out there knows anything about the long term use of Depo-Provera Contraceptive. I have been using it for a few years now, and have no plans of stopping using it anytime soon, as I am in college and will be for quite some time to come. I know that I am putting myself at risk for Osteoporosis by using it for a long time. But what I don't know is considering the fact that since being on Depo, I have had pretty much no menstrual cycle for a very long time.
Avatar f tn It is important to take a calcium supplement while using depo provera. Weight gain is probably the worst side effect. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn I have had the depo provera shot once and never went back for the second one October 1st. I wanted to know if I should have had my period by now?
Avatar f tn m a 19 year old female who was on the Depo Provera shot from summer of 2013 until last November. The depo shot completely took away my periods and even when I quit it in November I didn't get a period until July 2nd of this year. This period was a pretty normal one. Lighter flow than I used to have and it lasted until the 6th of July. Since then I have not had a period. I have taken multiple pregnancy tests, and I always get a negative result. I always have protected sex.
Avatar f tn can i take the mini-pill or the depo-provera injection even if i am taking other medicines such as pristiq, clonazepam, and tenoretic for high blood pressure?
Avatar n tn has taken me off the Depo Shots and I was put on Birth Control Pills. The blood was very dark red and blood clots. I was given an altrsound was told nothing was wrong. Is this normal with the Depo Provera?
Avatar f tn I have heard countless stories of women on birth control who got pregnant. Nothing is 100%. I took the plan b pill the day I had sex and here I am almost 6 months later pregnant. All I can tell you will depo is prepare to put on some weight, becauss that shot made me gain alot.
Avatar n tn I would suggest that you start doing ovulation predictors once you have a normal period and if you are not ovulating regularly, you could start a medication like Clomid to overcome the after effects of the depo. Also, you should take lots of vit D and calcium--depo can cause thining of the bone, but that is reversible when you stop it. Good luck!
Avatar m tn I have read what feels like hundreds of stories about the Depo shot and how people have bleed all year with it, or have some of the side effects that the FDA said are pretty uncommon? I am 33 yrs old not children and don't plan on having any. I wanted to use the Depo as a form of birth control so that my boyfriend and I don't have to worry about the possibility of getting pregnant. Is the depo shot as bad as people are saying it is? NEED HELP!!!
Avatar n tn Is depo-provera linked with infertility! I am a 24 and at the age of 20, I had 2 injections of depo-provera. Ever since, my period could me counted as almost none except when I am extreamely stress wich happen only 2 times. Other than that, nothing. I had a physical, inner & outer ultrasound & blood word and everthing was A1. So my doctor thinks I might be infertile. Before taking depo-provera, my periods were normal.
494669 tn?1275362475 I have been off Depo-Provera for 11 months now and still haven't conceived. Every month i have the same symptoms you are describing and every month i have the same negative result. I was also told afetr i came off the injection it could take me anything from a year to 2 years to conceive.
746098 tn?1232912961 What type of contraception are you on? If you are taking depo-provera i would seriously recommend you stop using this asap. I had the same symptoms as yourself and was diagnosed with depression, i wasn't depressed it was the side effects of the depo -provera. Also if you do ever plan on having kids it could take up to years after coming off of this pill for your body to regulate. I regret ever taking this for of contraception as my body is still completely messed up. Hope this helps!!
Avatar f tn I have a history of anxiety and depression. Is depo-provera a good choice or a bad choice for birth control? Thank you!
Avatar n tn or, it could be signs of a m/c. Either way, having been on the Depo for b/control myself in the past, and subsequently having problems TTC after it, if you are planning Baby no2 in a few months, I would steer clear of the Depo completely, and use a less harsh means of b/control. I have heard of women who cannot concieve after a year coming off Depo who have children already etc, pointing to the Depo as the reason TTC has failed.
Avatar n tn Wats plan b? And wat about the two week window my doctors been telling me? Pls help...
