But what I don't know is considering the fact that since being on Depo, I have had pretty much no menstrual cycle for a very long time.

I was on Depo Provera for about 8 years when my husband and I decided to try for another baby. I received my last injection in September 2006. I was pregnant by March 07 but miscarried at 5 weeks. We waited until December to try again and just miscarried that one at 9 weeks. After having 2 healthy children with no pregnancy complications, I am led to believe that this is an effect of the Depo injections.

H If you were my patient, i would advise you that the depo provera injection can be an excellent method of birth control. It is 99% effective and requires only that the patient have 4 injections per year. It is important to take a calcium supplement while using depo provera. i have been ttc for 2 years after being on depo for 2 and a half years and i blame depo 100%, i had irregular periods for months after coming off of it, pains etc. It is only now i'm getting a normal 28-32day cycle, this also causes bone damage the longer the use of depo the more prolonged the problems a lot of woman may agree with me on this one.

Is depo-provera linked with infertility! I am a 24 and at the age of 20, I had 2 injections of depo-provera. Ever since, my period could me counted as almost none except when I am extreamely stress wich happen only 2 times. Other than that, nothing. I had a physical, inner & outer ultrasound & blood word and everthing was A1. So my doctor thinks I might be infertile. Before taking depo-provera, my periods were normal.

I have very similar issues and all of my doctors are saying it is from the depo provera and I just have to wait until my body regulates itself from getting off of it which could take months. The anxiety and body pains are the hardest to deal with for me. I have had every symptom you mentioned and it was not MS. I even had a CAT scan that came out normal to check the brain. I do truly believe it is the depo. I have seen multiple doctors and they all say the same thing.

Im sorry your having soo many problems. I have heard many many bad things about the Depo Provera shot..in fact some doctors refuse to prescribe it. If i were you i would actually do some research and see if some of your symptoms match those of the Depo shot side effects...if they resemble them...if i were you i would go off the Depo shot...stop taking birth control which means practicing abstinence and let your body rid of all the hormones..it might take a few months...

I am 21 years old and have been on the shot (DEPO) since I was 18. I recently started having hot flashes and I wake up at night sweat profusely. Once I sit outside for a couple minutes I am fine. Also I have noticed since I have been on the shot I am very anxious. I would like someones opinion if their is a way to counteract these side effects or if I should just switch? I took depo provera for about 6 years, starting in 2000. Just over three months after I stopped taking the shots I developed a nodule in my neck which was eventually diagnosed as thyroid cancer. I have absolutely no history of thyroid problems of any kind in family and I had had no problems before the depo.
