Common Questions and Answers about Depo provera and hormone imbalance

depo-provera

It actually made it worse to where I regretted getting the surgery. I have absolutely NO sex drive BC of the pain and hormone imbalance to the point where it is ruining my relationship. I am 23 years old, and I shouldn't be having these problems until I at least hit menopause or a little before lol don't want to know what that's going to b like if I'm having these issues now.
I had cronic hives about 5 years ago that lasted 7 months and ended about the time I got pregnant. I had been taking Depo Provera (three shots worth) before they appeared violently. I just got an IUD (the kind with low hormones) 6 weeks ago and I have been having itchy skin for the last three weeks, and have had to take Zyrtec and Axid again. It's got to be the IUD. I am totally freaked out that I am going to get full blown hives again. Anyone had trouble with an IUD?
You girls have to discontinue Depo Provera at once and I highly recommend never putting any hormones into your bodies ever again. I have experienced a living nightmare from Depo Prover for the past three years. After I got the Depo shot I went home and researched on the web about the drug. I cried for three hours in fear that that could happen to me. What happened was worse. Five days after the shot a menstrual cycle started that would not cease. It wasn't a normal cycle.
here is my web site and depo group web address. please feel free to take a look and ask me questions!!! love...kimmie http://health.groups.yahoo.
Various factors causing it are endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, hormone imbalance, endometrial hyperplasia, polyps, use of IUD’s and depo shots, sexually transmitted diseases,PCOS and benign and malignant pathologies of the uterus. I would suggest you to consult a gynecologist and get a pelvic examination and swab culture done to confirm the diagnosis. Treatment depends on the confirmation of diagnosis.
2 weeks after the tests I got a depo provera shot and had nausea, headaches, swollen abdomen, tiredness, bloody nose, lower back pain, mood swings, swollen genitals that made them very sensitive, lower abdomen cramps, spotting and now 3 months and 1 week after the depo shot I started producing a milk like liquid from both my breasts. Could you please advise?
Hello, Depo-Provera is a long-acting progestin (hormone) form of birth control. If you stop getting Depo-Provera injections, your period usually returns within 3 to 10 months but sometimes it may take 12-18 mths. Moreover it has few side effects like irregular periods, hormonal imbalance, abdominal cramps and weight changes. So use it after a gynecologist’s guidance.
I went off the depo provera shot in dec. Didn't use any other hormone replacement therapy. Jan - May had increasing PMS symptoms but in may a new one heart racing / palpitation feelings which became worse the day of my cycle. I was very short of breath I would walk 10 feet and my HR 120 I'd feel dizzy my Bp 160/98 with those few steps. sitting down Bp 140/95 and short of breath. Next day Ekg sinus tach 108. Dr. said don't worry about it come back in 2 weeks and we'll recheck BP.
I was diagnosed at 16 with PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome) and I got a Depo shot June 3rd of 2010 in an attempt to force my hormonal imbalance to regulate. All was well for the first month, then the excruciating migraines, cramps, mood swings and severe weight gain came on (40lbs in one month!!!) and my hair began to fall out. So when Sept. 3rd came about, I chose NOT to get another shot. And that very afternoon, my period began. It ended on Jan. 3rd of 2011.
it could be due to a hormone imbalance, a polyp, or a growth inside the uterus. Infection and pregnancy can cause abnormal bleeding as well. It is reasonable to try provera because it will stabilize the lining of the uterus You should ask your doctor about a pregnancy test if you have not had one, lab tests to check for a hormone imbalance such as thyroid hormone.
Depo-Provera is a long-acting progestin (hormone) form of birth control. It was seen in studies that after a year of Depo-Provera injections, 57% of women were not menstruating and after 2 years, 68% of women were not menstruating. Symptoms that you are having can be due to hormonal imbalance caused by the shots rather than early menopause. The hypothalamus stimulates the pituitary gland to release follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). FSH and LH cause the ovaries to produce the hormones estrogen and progesterone. Estrogen and progesterone are responsible for the cyclical changes in the endometrium (uterine lining), including menstruation. In addition, a woman’s genital tract should be free of any abnormalities to allow the passage of menstrual blood Why is Provera prescribed?

I am currently taking Yaz and getting ready to sart my 3rd week of it. It's a lower hormone dose than normal birth control pills. The reason there are only 4 placebo pills is to keep your hormone levels more consistent w/o a big drop like other pills. If you go to www.yaz-us.com you can get additional info from there. Hope that helps!!
I can't tell my mother so I need advice on what should be my next step. Please, please anything could help. Am I pregnant or is there a hormone imbalance?
So now I don't know what is wrong with me. Could all this be from a hormone imbalance or from the birth control? My next depo provera shot was due last week and I told my doc that I wanted to switch to the pill just in case it was the shot that was causing my symptoms. Last week I started ortho tri cyclen lo and within a few days my anxiety came back really bad. I have stopped taking them 2 days ago but still feel anxious. Has anyone experienced this with birth control?
I've heard from a couple people that it has actually helped some of the symptoms of it which kind of makes sense to me since it is a disease directly related to the female reproductive system and the hcg is derived from the hormone juiced urine of pregnant women. Weight loss would be AWESOME if it worked for me (the hcg) but I would be just as thrilled if it were to help some with say the facial hair.
I took a shot of Depo Provera on January 10th when my baby was 2 1/2 months old. I had spotting on and off for 3 months and hence didnt continue with Depo. However since last month, bleeding commences everytime i do exercise or after intercourse and goes on for 4 days like periods. I had a USS done and was found to have PCOD (which i have been having for 10 years now). Doctor advises it is hormonal changes that has caused this. Could this be cervical erosion? How serious is it?
I was looking for something else (lichen sclerosis) and came upon you poor people - Just a suggestion, to take ZINC and Vit C, for tissue repair and has anyone thought about whether an imbalance in the pH or the vagina & area could be hindering repair or causing in the first place? Good luck.
a little gift depo left me. i am now 7 DPO and on prometrium and AF was due today and the prometrium has kept her away so far. if you were on the depo i am so sorry you have to endure what i have. there is hope though....many woman have gone to have successful PGs after depo and m/c's from the hormone imbalance it causes. i have a TTC after depo web site if you are interested. http://www.geocities.com/coons_ttc_n_baby_site/ love and hugs...
As soon as I get into a place I get so dizzy and my vision is all messed up. I get so hot and sweaty and my heart races. I want my life back. I still dont believe that its just anxiety causing all of this. I feel like I have something else wrong that the doctors cant find even though i have had bloodwork, mri, ekg, and they were all normal. I started taking .25mg of xanax once a day. still dont feel any better yet. So if anybody has any help please give it to me.
It will take a little time to get your levels stableized, and it depends most on the Endo uou will see. Did you get a copy of the tests they did at the ER? If you did please Post them. If you are new to thyroid, there are a few things you need to know about the disease prior to seeing a new MD. The most problem we have is finding an MD that relly knows how to test and treat the disease, Yes, Many MD's do not treat well, they follow one path "TSH" and that is all they go by.
