I Had Unprotected Sex 4 Months After My Last Depo Shot Could I Be Pregnant??
If you only used it once, it shouldn't affect anything at all. By the way, after I stopped using depo, I ended up getting pregnant. I used it for over 5 years. Sadly my pregnancy ended up in a m/c (unrelated to depo, it's been about four years.. hubby was using the pull out method until we were ready to try) and now I'm ttc again.
i have been ttc for 2 years after being on depo for 2 and a half years and i blame depo 100%, i had irregular periods for months after coming off of it, pains etc. It is only now i'm getting a normal 28-32day cycle, this also causes bone damage the longer the use of depo the more prolonged the problems a lot of woman may agree with me on this one.
Before you can get on the depo shot you have to take a pregnant test and a test to make sure that you have no diseases before. Then if your clear of everything then your next appointment you will be able to take the shot.
I just went to the GYN and got my annual pelvic exam and my first shot of depo and so far everything has been okay. However, once I didn't get my period I started to worry and I took a pregnancy test just in case and it did come out negative. But I'm still freaking out since I am only 18 and really do not want to be pregnant. So is it normal to be late for your period after getting the shot? or should I take another test? Thanks.
Soon after my husband and I tried to have another baby and it took us 2 years to conceive. And I have heard of cases of women that has taken longer for them to get pregnant after getting the shot. So my advice is to find another method. It seems that Mirena is the most effective.

I had my first 3 children while on birth control. My first I was using the pill, and got pregnant after a year of being on the medication. My oldest son was concieved on the patch. And my youngest son was concieved again on the pill. I had used Depo for 3 years and never had any issues. I didnt gain wait, or anything. The only minor side effects I did have was mild cramping after the shot, and headaches. Although once I got off depo that was different.
Hello, I was on depo provera for 9 years, I had my last shot in Jan 2012 and was suppose to come get my next shot April 2012, My doctor informed me that it would be fine for me to just stop taking it because I did so well while I was on it and that I should be fine coming off of it, well I didnt. I had horrible side effects from July and they are still happening now, I have had every test done (ultrasounds, blood test, endoscopes, ect.) and everything came back normal.

I was on depo for many years before getting married and loved it!! But then after I had my son I went on the shot (the only option when nursing besides condoms or the mini-pill) and my libido suffered along with my moods. I never did spot or bleed, but the other side effects were enough to get me to stop. After this one, I am looking into an IUD or just going back to the condoms as I plan on breastfeeding again.
(so if happen it happen) and 6 months later i got pregnant with our son. And that was with out trying and after 2 years on the depo.

Hello and welcome! You can get pregnant anytime once you start getting your periods. After stoppage of Depo-Provera one can become pregnant as soon as three to four months after the last shot. It varies women to women. It may take some women up to a year or two to conceive once they stop using Depovera. It does not depend on how long you have been using Depovera. If you do not get your periods according to the stipulated time it will be best to consult a gynecologist. Do keep us posted.

I have been on Depo-provera for nearly two months now, and have been on several other birth controls to try and regulate my period. None of the pills ever worked, I continued to bleed irregularly with heavy blood flow, and periods lasting up to 8 weeks. My doctor and I tried LUPRON to stop my periods, and it worked well for about six months. Due to insurance refusing to pay, I switched to Depo-Provera. I started bleeding two weeks ago, with all the sypmtoms of a regular period.
Is it possible to get pregnant after one depo provera injection. My boyfriend and I do not use any other method of protection and he does not pulll out because we have been together for a while and the risk of STD's is not there. I missed my period 3 weeks ago and im a bit worried. I am normally very regular.I know Depo can stop periods all together but when i used to recieve depo years ago i still had a period :/ Im currently spotting and crampy.
It can sometimes take months and months to get a cycle back after stopping Depo. You may have irregular bleeding and spotting for quite a while, or nothing at all for quite a while. If you are sexually active and not using any birth control now, take a HPT about every 2-3 weeks until you either get your period back, or get a positive. That's about all you can do at this point. If this keeps up, you should ask your doctor what to do. Are you wanting to be pregnant? I'm assuming so.
And as for trouble getting pregnant afterward different types of birth control work differently for different people I was pregnant within 2 months of stopping my shots and easily got pregnant with my second son also after resuming and stopping my depo shots again. I feel that it is a great birth control and have recommended it to people its very effective and most people I know have only had minor side affects such as spotting for a little while.
I just had it once and i hated it and after a could months I had miscarriage at 5 weeks and then after that I couldn't get pregnant but I started taking prenatal pills and bomb I was pregnant right away, a Mexican saying I'd that your uterus could be weak and prenatal pills help it helped my I think you should try?
The docotors believe I may have a progesterone problem due to Depo Provera. I was on Depo for 6 years and went off the shot in Sept. Does anyone know if the effects of this shot can linger and cause lower progesterone levels?
