can i take the mini-pill or the depo-provera injection even if i am taking other medicines such as pristiq, clonazepam, and tenoretic for high blood pressure?

When i was receiving the depo shot the only thing it made me do was gain weight!! The doctors say that not all women gain weight on it!!

I got the depo shot back in December of last year and got off of it in march. I have been bleeding very very heavy non stop since I started it. It stops for a few days and then starts right back up again. I gush blood and soak through pads. Huge blood clots fall right out of me and are the size of a medium banana! Very dark red in color. I tried doubling up on the nasal spray since I was prescribed the wrong strength, but it did not help. I had my second Depo Provera shot on December 7. I thought it would help make the bleeding stop, but I am still bleeding. I have also tried a estrogen pill I was prescribed, but it has not helped. I know I will have light bleeding on the Depo Provera, but is it normal to be bleeding for 37 days? I have not felt like myself lately and I am having trouble doing my everyday activities.

I was on depo provera and gained 40 pounds in 6 months... my dr. told me that the hormones that are in it mess with your body bad... If i were you i would get off it and try a differnt means of birth control... It has also been proven to increasse your chance of Osteoporosis! for the past 2 1/2 years I have been bleeding abnormally. It started when I first started the depo provera. I stayed on it for 9 months trying to work with my OB GYN to figure out why I was bleeding so much. Hmm, breast tenderness is usually a side effect of estrogen excess - but I thought shots were mostly progesterone, like Depo Provera? Which shot are you on?

I stopped the pill and started Depo Provera injections, and the migraines ceased. Now, 10 years later, they started again. I have had 3 in two weeks. Interestingly enough, I had a couple this summer (hadn't been on the pill in years). I started the pill (Yaz) this Jan. and now the migraines have really increased in frequency. I stopped the pill last night to see if they at least decrease in frequency. Does any research support an increase/onset of migraines with taking the pill?

@nessa The copper iud is hormone free, the depo provera shot is progestin only, as is the mini pill. Those are all good options. Iud is long term, depo is every twelve weeks, pill is daily.
